It has been a pleasure watching your families travels and exploits. Amazing to have watched Emma grow from a young girl into a lovely young woman. From passenger to an integral part of the crew. Always happy to see the 4 of you each week.
I watch you guys every week, and I get hungry every week. Teal, you are one lucky captain. You have a beautiful boat and a beautiful crew that can really cook. Have fun in San Blas, and see you next week.
They look like amazing people . The problem I see is , all the local people you meet on your travels who sell items to make a living . It wouldn't take long to fill up your boat with beautiful items and you don't want to insult the locals etc . That rogue boat will be a good score for the locals . Looks to be in great shape , bit of a clean and tune up and BOB's your uncle . You are blessed Teal with a beautiful wife , who can cook , Beautiful Daughter and compass and Boat . What a life , look forward to the next high seas adventure , fair winds..
I LIKE THE technical info, distance, time, speed and sail handling..... More please. Who are those cute deck hands.... Oh just Linh and Emma... Who is my favorite SV Basik crew member? Compass of course. Ha ha. The local dogs would eat him. Career opportunity for Emma, conch shell and sunglass model. Ha ha. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed. You really have to buy from locals since you are in their backyard. The interaction was so nice. It builds a trust and respect.
Brings back great memories, we had the pleasure of cruising in San blas for 8 times, you’ve found paradise. Hope you find Lisa, she is the kunas premier molla maker, enjoy your time and don’t be in a hurry to leave, it doesn’t get any better
Emma, the hole on the top of that conch shell is how the fisherman get he animal out. There are beaches here with thousands of these shells, (all with that hole) in them in the Caribbean..
My sister, at my insistance, watched a couple episodes and said of Teal, "He's adorkable." I wouldn't go quite that far, but Teal's OCD is very useful on a boat. Fair winds and following seas.
Emma has a marvelous voice. ....I had a student, Alex, that I told to test his voice for singing, because he had resonance. ...He can sing, OK, but got directed by a voice coach to practice with a series of recordings, for inflection, and emphasis... Long story short; He's does audio books, turning $60K/year, while going to collage full time. ...wish I knew what recordings he used... ...Kids would ask him to, "Do it," and he would speak like TV commercial, and it was hysterical. ...look at the interviews the original "Hey Siri" lady, for insights... ...and good luck all, love your videos...
I definitely believe that Emma could make a lot of money with audio books and narrations of the such. I really enjoy listening to her when speaking on the history of a location they're at. Who knows, maybe she'll start small with her own UA-cam channel featuring world history.
Great episode, guys 🎉🎉🎉 Hope you were able to follow traditional San Blas culture and bring Cava to the local tribe chief and participate in their quick ceremony of welcome and permission to be on their islands. Lots of examples of how to do this on other sailing channels and it seems to be a wonderful time. ‼️👍🏻💕 See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙✨ 🌞✨
That lost dinghy is a Boston Whaler. If you cannot locate the owner, I would keep it. The fact that it drifted so far with water and did not sink is proof of its stability. I bet it wouldn't take much to spruce it up. And then you would have a spare outboard. The dinghy found you ! I think it's a sign. Just some thoughts
That was way too much boat for us. Our dinghy and outboard combined weigh half of the whaler alone. Besides, the Guna's can use it to help support their village.
When Teal was dealing with Dengue did he have a headache. Taking a cruise thru the canal next week and hoping I miss the dengue excursion. Thanks team.
These islands are a real paradise, and IMO a far better destination than the Bahamas. Sadly, with global sea rise, I fear they may be underwater in a century.
Good morning from Lodi, California. You inspire me to cook some of the cheese breads. Looked really good. Problem is I love stuff like that, but it too loves me and never wants to "stick" to my sides. LOL!
To bad compass could not make friends with the other dogs. I am sure he would have enjoyed running on the beach. Maybe you can find another island without dogs or people for him. Because we all know he's a very protective guard dog.😀 Stay safe and have fun.
Wow dying at sea from the poops and them buried at sea in a lead coffin ?? !! Guess being an explorer back then was a crappy job !! LOL pun intended !!
The Gunas are also Matrelinial land owners so the islands and fishing and settlement rights are passed down through the women. Same as the designs and cloth work.
Yup, we have a Biewer Terrier related to your dog and a 5lb toy poodle, these 2 clowns are always on guard and have no sense when it comes to thinking they can take on a 150lb dog. My little one took on a family of raccoons one night and got a severe beating, but don’t think she learned anything and would probably do it again.
Lol, I swear he resets everytime after "trying" to protect us from anyone who comes near. He is the sweetest to us......it's everyone else that has to be on alert when he's nearby. 😆😆😆
Don't be alarmed if you see one of those flags with the N@zi symbol on it. Just like in Bali in Indonesia you will see the symbol all over older structures. That symbol existed and had a totally different meaning for them long before the germans (n@zis) used it as their own.
Many of the older Cunas worked in various US military bases in Panama, Air Force, Army, Navy, etc. You can say they were the preferred labor force for the US military . So many of older Cunas learned English while working for the US military in Panama.
You've been in Portobelo so long I recommend you perform a mushroom check That was legally acquired salvage, if you had traded your salvage for 25 cents you could be professional salvage experts on your resumes. Or pirates, I'm not a lawyer.
I love that people of the day celebrated the life of a government approved pirate and slave trader by naming an island after him. I’m surprised that the pc brigade haven’t tried to get it renamed yet.
Probably, but the way I see it is if the owner is never found, the Guna's can use it to help support their families. This is a very poor area, and that boat will most likely last generations on that island.
Beautiful beaches, sand and water. Paradise indeed. Sad for Compass.
This was a nice snapshot of the lifestyle you have chosen. Nothing exciting, no drama, just life.

I can't complain. My crew is exceptional.
Good loyal little dog! Doesn't want to leave anyone behind.
Ah ha ha compass needed a course correction. Once again, excellent narration and history Emma.

Linh needs to put out a sailing cook book, And Capt. Compass making sure all come ashore safely.

Nice save on the Whaler. You feast looked wonderful. My complements to the chef.
A very spectacular Island grouping. Enjoy them and the peaceful beauty they afford. 🐻

I will take "adorkable" all day long!😂
that boat is a Great find for the people on the islands .
We watched them clean it up and get the outboard running in less than 2 hours.

Emma speaks way too fast for me to understand what she is saying
@@peterhancox5268 You should not be so hard on yourself.
@@peterhancox5268 now listen to the clarity and resonance... ...and note: I suggested learning technical skills to develop an underlying talent...
Incredible. Teal.... you married...WAY UP! :) I feel sorry for Emma. I wish she had a friend along to help keep her sanity.
It doesn't appear to me that Emma is suffering from lack of company. They regularly get together with other cruising families.
@@genewaddlerandomstuff2122 Not the same thing as having a close friend nearby 24/7.
Thank you for sharing. Wish I were 20 years younger.🙂🙂
Nice video. Someone will get that boat motor running and clean up the boat. Have fun !!!
The Guna's had it up and running in less than 2 hours.
⛵️⛵️⛵️❤️❤️🍷☕️🥃that was a beautiful island 🏝
Groovy episode. Yummy food on deck. Thanks for saving the Boson Waller
Thanks for posting this video. 20 minutes sure went fast.
Those conch shells have that hole in them made by the locals getting the meat out of the shell.

Love you guys! Thanks for sharing the San Blas with us. Linh, that meal looked delicious. Wish I had a taste! Safe travels. ❤

@@OnboardLifestyle hey!! annapolis?!
Thanks guys, GO Compass you little tough guy you.👍🏻💕🐾🍖
I'm glad to see that you're getting back up to speed, Teal. Missed y'all last week. Also, yay for the long video. 🙂
You can invite me to dinner any time. Food looks amazing!
When Teal was dealing with Dengue did he have a headache. Taking a cruise thru the canal next week and hoping I miss the dengue excursion. Thanks team.
I have had more headaches since Dengue than I have had my entire life combined.
Good job
Was that a cheesy flat bread? Please keep showing those type of things.
These islands are a real paradise, and IMO a far better destination than the Bahamas. Sadly, with global sea rise, I fear they may be underwater in a century.
Surprized Teal hasn’t electrified his winches yet, should be some sponsors willing to get their name out there.
Thats a useful dingy..even if the motors shot..the Guna would love it.. thats like giving a whole village an extra life line and line of income.
They had it up and running in 2 hours.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Our pleasure!
Thankyou 😊

Not sure how it's made, but I love the 3D picture effect at 1:22 🙂
I agree it has a interesting extra dimension, unfortunately it was totally unintentional.
@@OnboardLifestyle 😂😂brilliant 🙂
you can still see the damage of hurricane on the island

Ha ha, a lead coffin, they really weren't taking any chances he was coming back eh.
dengue fever is from the tiger mosquito and causes very painful muscle spasms and high fever
ki im realy enjoying your story
FYI: Your GEAR page is not working and We LOVE you guys! What a wonderful family!

Makes you wonder if someone got separated from their dinghy. If so, then the potential for a tragedy exists.
There wasn't a fuel tank or any fuel lines onboard.
