That tradition of the black rod is really impressive. On one hand, it is a symbol of the Commons(the public) revolting against the monarchy... but she came to parliament, sit with her loyal peers and send the black rod(her former military officer) to summen the rebelling commons by her military. Then he goes and orders the rebelling commons to stand in front of the crown. This is a gesture to show she still has the power of silencing the rebels by her guards to which some members refuse to do so. On the other hand, the monarch baw to the elected parliament(public) by the way that the commons force her to read what they want to be legislated as written by the government of the day. This is a gesture of balance between the crown and the commons.

Oh dear, lol, Mrs. Hayward was rather enthusiastic shall we say. Her hubby the Ambassador would be forgiven for coming up with an excuse as to why his wife couldn't attend, hahaha. Ah well, the Queen has witnessed enough blunders in her time that a chair toppling over probably wouldn't register. I can imagine the 'conversation' which took place back at the embassy.
Queen Mary was a real "Hoot" she used to love being around the Military, she was involved with the setting up of a Nursing Association during WW1 and during WW2 she was Evacuated from Sandringham to a House in the West Country (Devon/Cornwall) she would give out Cigarettes to the Troops in the Convoy of Vehicles escorting her and at the next stop ask "Whose Crash is it?" She used to talk like a Sailor to the Troops and was known to drop the F bomb on occasion, laugh and joke with them and they loved her for it and Queen Mary is the source of Prince Harry's Red Hair, her hair was just as bright as Harry's. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother nursed Troops during WW1 and lost several of her Brothers too and when she Married Prince Albert (Berty) in Westminster Abbey she laid her flowers on the (At the time in 1920) New Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Memory of her Brothers, Berty and Elizabeth obviously became the Duke and Duchess of York and George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Consort, Queen Mary was put in Charge of her Granddaughter and taught her everything about duty and the rituals of being the Queen and how she should behave and Reign as Queen, Princess Elizabeth was in the WAF during WW2 and learned how to strip down a Lorry Engine and put it together and drive them too, all three could fire a Pistol and Queen Elizabeth II can fire a Rifle, I met the Princess Royal, Princess Ann in 1992 on a Range while I was serving in the US Army Infantry while we were training with our British Army Allies/Brothers, She's a really good shot with a GPMG and the various Rifles of both Army's and very plain spoken around the Troops/Sailors and Military in general....
The Ambassador's wife, Louise, adds a filip of fun to the Estonian visit. She is so human and casual, though proper enough for the Queen's state visit. It's hard for me to realize that the three Baltic republics are now independent states, whereas they were part of the Soviet Union for so many years. The Estonians seem very cognizant of the honor they are being paid as partners of Great Britain in NATO and as recipients of a very royal visit.
around the 50minute mark it really sums up the crappy side of her role. Shes taking too long greeting them (i.e. having a nice chat) and shes told "sorry maam you have to move on". Imagine that for your life? People always underestimate how much responsibility overrides her freedom when it comes to her role.
A prison with Queen Anne chairs and crystal chandeliers is still a prison. Her life is planned out months in advance and she has to endure the most banal and repetitive ceremonies like unveiling plaques. That’s why she deserves our respect. Long Live The Queen.

It delights my heart every time I listen or see Queen Elizabeth 11 in any documentary. I am far away but I feel close & nearby. Physical distance is really not an issue when there is a great love. She is so beautiful. I like her inside. I like her physical beauty, her charm, discretion, the way how she presents herself, so dignified & calm. I like her presence to people, to every individual in her presence is treated as a unique, important & highly respected & listen to. I can go forever describing my thoughts & feelings towards my Queen Elizabeth 11 real & profound love does not always express itself by words as I am doing a bit. Silence, prayers & interiorisation are far more powerful. God Save the Queen! May God's presence in her life be sufficient to her; so that she will never be needy to anyone else to serve her or look after her. may she stay healthy not only physically but also in mind & in spirit. May her wisdom & serenity help her not to be affected by any of these troubles & problems occuring sadly in the Monarchy for which she worked constantly to see it alive, flourishing and growing. She's definitely an airhead...she seems sweet, but wow...can't understand why they're interested in the Queen...🤦♂️ When her husband tells her stop being surreal...🤣
She really is.. I mean just imagine the amount of people she has to talk to every day.. sooo many. I cannot imagine how I would be able to carry on so many conversations. Especially with any depth.
Elizabeth is everything that one would want a Queen to be. Although I live on the opposite shore of The Pond, I have great admiration for her. I note that she is rarely seen without a purse dangling from her left arm!
Apparently that has a purpose.. if I remember right, it's to let her people know she is ready to leave I think? I'm American so I'm not positive. It's something I seen on a documentary. If she moves the purse from one arm to the other it means she is ready to go and if she does something else, it's a 5 minute warning.. idk she carries the purse to message to her people. I cannot imagine what she would have in the purse lol you don't see her touching up makeup, she doesn't carry money, or cell phone. So I'm curious what she could possibly have in it. Lol maybe it's empty. 🤷
brontewcat If they replace the monarch with a president or something as a head of state, chances are they will just pass on the same duties from the queen to an elected or parliamentary president. So, this whole act of shenanigans will stay in one way or another.
Henry, Caesar of Constantinople True, but as it is the only monarch who is not allowed to enter the Commons, this tradition would no longer be relevant. The Commons should have no issue with a President and not need to assert their authority against the potential of a tyrant monarch. But many other traditions would continue- some have even more relevance today eg searching Parliament for explosives before it opens.
The fact that Elizabeth do have the experience with former PPMM does not mean that she knows much about ordinary people's life at all. She lives in a bubble, and as the older she grows, the more away is she distanced from the common people.
„their reward is a day of school“ normally that would be a decent line but...i mean...come on even 12 year olds dont care one bit about getting a day off in that moment they are carrying the queens mantel thats the reward even kids appreciate that
Apparently Tony Blair became mesmerized by the Queen and the royal institution (his wife wasn't so keen them being socialists)..Her majesty the Queen has that way though. She has seen so many Prime Ministers come and go and acted as advisor to them. She is wise and above politics.
zeppelin1qaz : I am so grateful to hear you say this. I remember how upset the Queen was and how she struggled not to show her feelings. I believe he was just flexing his so-called muscles and hitting where he knew it would really hurt. “I’m in charge .....” etc.
Prince Philip would have been a prince of Estonia. How? Because Prince Philip is the grand nephew of the last czarina and Estonia at one time was a part of the Russian empire! Connecting the dots is really what's amazing about History!
No Philip would not have been entitled to be a prince of the Russian empire. He was born a Prince of Greece and Denmark and later made into one of the UK.
@Penelope Pittstop that is true. It is transmitted by mother to son and the genes of hemophilia to daughters. I guess, but I may be wrong, that the fact to be inbred for generations does help to trigger the actual apparition of hemophilia in the male line.

For instance can you imagine if Trump had to bow to the Queen every week?

@@Blue-de3tu she does pay taxes on her personal property/money, she provides stability. Forming a republic would render every law in the land null and void. Not a cheap problem to solve and would cause a constitutional crisis in 15 other countries including vital allies like Canada and Australia which wouldn't help in our relationship with mutual allies either like the USA. Politics are divisive, hence why the head of state is best having no political position. Would you rather half of the UK hate the UK by definition? @@Blue-de3tu so you think that the USA is stable? When half population hate the USA because they hate their head of state. The bullshit Russian meddling propaganda from the Democrats in 2016 now the bullshit election fixing propaganda from the Republicans. That is not stability, thats instability. The general election was done and dusted in history inside 48 hours in Britain or Canada or Australia but in the USA its uncertain for weeks. Because of instability in the political institutions they employ. The Westminster system is superior in every regard, hence why most democracy employ the Westminster system. 19th and early 20th century industry and 2 world wars made America wealthy not their political system. Politicians might know how to be head of government but don't know how to be head of state. Politicians are divisive which is the opposite of what is required by a head of state. There is stability in the certainty of who is going to be the next head of state, who is well trained for the job. Everything a head of state does is actions of the state. If you want to bring numbers to the equation the average monarchy is well above the average Republic in terms of prosperity and power.

I was hired, as a horse photographer to photograph her on a private visit to Kentucky....she was darling...then, 17 years later, she was on an official visit and came to San Antonio, where I worked as photographer....I was the first person she ran into, when entering the building, and she said LAURA! and scared me to death....I am very tall and distinctive, but I could not believe she remembered me....my stock really rose among my coworkers😍
@laurahoward5426 what beautiful memories you will have of our queen Elizabeth 2nd ❤
and the queen is one of the best queens in the entire british monarchy
thank you for downloading, Her Majesty's doing a great job i would guess
Her sense of duty is amazing. God save the Queen. 🌹
I kinda like the ambassadors wife.. she's so quirky and silly. She has a bit of an annoyance to her.. but she's kinda fun. Idk she's weird. 😂😂
She annoyed the heck out of me. All that silly face making and mugging? Good Lord.
@@jamesbattista1466 Lol yes I agree
Awww the dogs are amazing

Tallin is really beautiful..
It has a really interesting history..
She's even been to where I live, on an island no-one ever heard of 😂
I like the Ambassador's wife. She's awkwardly funny, but she is being herself. People like her would definitely keep my nerves calm during intense times like this.
I found her extremely annoying with her silly eye rolling and constant mugging.
Louise knocks off the chair just before the toast OHMYGAAAADDD! 😂 🤣 You cannot behave HAHAHA
🇬🇧 Beautiful Pomp! 😊❤💛💙
🇬🇧God Save The Queen👑
It is interesting to read about how through King Henry the 1st, 2nd and King John the Great Councils were set up to talk with the Kings over various activities of the rich and the church leaders over the years and then when King John did not adhere to it all, things changed. It became a civil war and that is when parliament evolved
We have had a great Queen for many years in Queen Elizabeth and think she was born to this purpose. People not only in Britain most all love her but people of the unites states as well. We all have great respect for her. She and her family have done their best for all. Humans are not perfect and we cannot ever expect perfection which only can come from our God.
Oh I do so hope your Queen will recuperate soon

I think the Queen is a lovely woman and quite amazing!
I can imagine the 'conversation' which took place back at the embassy.
when the queen is signing the book on the ship she looks so much like her grandmother
I have seen the Queen Mothers signature and Elizabeth signs in the exact handwriting. It is uncanny.
Which was Queen Mary.
What a fairy world life. Rehearsals and shows.. Damn I have a job interview tomorrow
How did it go?🤔
around the 50minute mark it really sums up the crappy side of her role.
Whenever people talk about "How nice it would be to be Royal"
Yeah... no you are rather a slave to your country then everything else. Sure you wear fancy clothing and are incredibly wealthy, but that is realy just the golden cage that is made as comfortable for you as possibly since you have no controle over your life.
She is never allowed to show personal warmth or spontaneity
@@HafdirTasare yeah, incredibly wealthy but, but not really, the palace can't just book a holiday to spain with out it being a public spectacle so their wealth isn't really theirs its the states wealth.
stephen budris Well said Stephen.
Fadia Sultan
fadia Sultan How beautifully written. You have expressed all the things I feel about Her Majesty in a way that I never could. Thank you for this.
Thank you, Artem.
The Ambos wife is a very typical wife of a senior person in Britain. As mad as a box of frogs!
I thought she was such fun. It is lovely to see someone so joyful.
Why do they marry women like that, you’d think they would mary a serious woman? Is it a aristocratic thing?
She's definitely an airhead...she seems sweet, but wow...can't understand why they're interested in the Queen...🤦♂️ When her husband tells her stop being surreal...🤣
*A life fulfilled.*
Aww I so wish I was born into that
I love her
The queen is a great communicator.
She really is.. I mean just imagine the amount of people she has to talk to every day.. sooo many. I cannot imagine how I would be able to carry on so many conversations. Especially with any depth.
@@Witchygirl22 It's called small talk
@@Pius-XI I mean obviously. You don't have to be rude. Lol it's just unimaginable to me, to have to speak to hundreds of people weekly.
Bring to me a pearl of Elizabeth the first !
thank you
Who's here after watching The crown?
I've become a little more sympathetic towards the monarchy because of The Crown. She's had to put up with so much shit in her life.
Me
It won't be long now before "Black Rod" punches a hole in the door of the House of Commons. After all, that door is wood and not made out of steel.
But it's thick English oak.
just imagine hahaha
I think it still has a few 100 more years in it. But at some point they probably need to reinforce the door if the monarchy keeps keeping on.
brontewcat If they replace the monarch with a president or something as a head of state, chances are they will just pass on the same duties from the queen to an elected or parliamentary president.
That Ambassadors wife, what a crawling sycophant.
We @.
From ants to humans every entity needs hierarchy..........
The Queen is the ultimate regulator of the constitution.
The Queen really does have a beautiful smile.
She's beautiful inside and out.

@Thisis invenice Too-shay!!
The way she can have some words for ALL the persons she meets, about all topics ... It must be really interesting to have a conversation with her.
you have to love the range rovers they have,
It must take a lot to keep the damn things running. Then again, they're probably replaced frequently.
„their reward is a day of school“ normally that would be a decent line but...i mean...come on even 12 year olds dont care one bit about getting a day off in that moment they are carrying the queens mantel thats the reward even kids appreciate that
So interesting!
Ugh imagine having to have a “genuine conversation” with Tony Blair 😩
Apparently Tony Blair became mesmerized by the Queen and the royal institution (his wife wasn't so keen them being socialists)..Her majesty the Queen has that way though. She has seen so many Prime Ministers come and go and acted as advisor to them. She is wise and above politics.
Well he seems extremely statesmanlike and coherent compared with the utter disgrace that is Johnson
A tremendous mistake Tony Blair made was forcing the Queen to give up the Royal yacht Britannia, which was an asset for this country.
zeppelin1qaz : I am so grateful to hear you say this. I remember how upset the Queen was and how she struggled not to show her feelings. I believe he was just flexing his so-called muscles and hitting where he knew it would really hurt. “I’m in charge .....” etc.
@@Knappa22 Except for the fact that Blair was a war mongering fool of a prime minister
6:55 👈🏾 This is the person ultimately in charge during the opening of Parliament.

Don't forget all of Europe and the Former USSR had royal families and they were all related.
Penelope Pittstop
And so inbred the Tsarevitch had hemophilia
@Penelope Pittstop
that is true. It is transmitted by mother to son and the genes of hemophilia to daughters.
I guess, but I may be wrong, that the fact to be inbred for generations does help to trigger the actual apparition of hemophilia in the male line.
WELL SAID " WE MAKE THE NOISE " FOR THE HOUSE OF COMMONS !

I do find it odd that the men do not bow properly, and that the women do not curtsey. But she seems to prefer the decreased formality.
HM does not give a flying fuck about what other people do.
The curtsey and bow are not required etiquette anymore. Its up to the individual.
How did u get access to this wasn't it deleted due to security issues with them showing private places etc
Many miss the points of having a constitutional monarch and often throw out the cost of them as a negative never bringing up the fact all heads of state cost the public money- whoever it is. For me having a constitutional monarch who is above politics who the PM has to bow to stops the Pm having any delusions of grandeur. For instance can you imagine if Trump had to bow to the Queen every week?
Right. The American president, with secret service budget and two air force one planes, cost taxpayers like six billion dollars a year.
@@Blue-de3tu yep, and more, but she pays taxes and brings in money with tourism. She's not the head of government. I wasn't saying the president doesn't need his budget.
@@Blue-de3tu you should write a book. I don't know, to be honest.
As half of the USA hates trump they hate the USA itself as he is head of state.
