I had very different views about British monarchy before this documentary. I just looked at hierarchy and Prince William Harry Diana and all their relations. The Image that you see from Google search results and from the inside with people's reactions to the system hit differently. The system is amazing. Every country needs history and every society needs someone whom everybody respects from PM to local guy. History pages, forts, swords are history but such a monarchy is a living history. It does everything that history does and binds people together. I wish even India has a system where President plays more role
❤Edward and Sophie ❤ Such a gentle awkward nerdy type ❤but very likeable. Adore Anne from a woman's perspective. Her staunch side and intellectually enhanced quick humour ❤. Charles does try to connect with people. Hes not pretending. He was bullied from young age and his parents were cold. He understands more than what people give him credit for. I think that if he had a different accent he may get accepted more broadly. He sounds a bit posh😂❤ . They are much nicer people than some of the wealthy people we know...and they're not millionaires...just better off than most average people. Stuck up. The RF are not stuck up. They are busy and don't suffer fools❤.
As an American I would LOVE a democratic monarchy for .63 a YEAR! Stop complaining these people are making huge difference in Britain’s name in NUMEROUS charities, they are diplomats, and just great reminders of history. There is nothing in our country that is that valuable AND that affordable!! Unbelievable!
My Opinion Matters Hon it’s not affordable; it costs billions of our tax payers money to keep the Royals.. whilst we have homeless, a failing NHS and working families going to food banks.
LightDweller it's all a matter of perspective, if you look at how much your taxes are going towards the royal family it doesn't appear to be that much based on what they're saying. If that is the cost per year, if I could have a group of people who were putting out that much energy towards positive groups and actually having a positive look on the world and a continued stable force while the eb & flow of Change that comes with voting democratically I would love it! Specifically in the United States right now we could use something with more stability! The grass is always greener, both for me and for people who are anti-their own Royalty. But I would tell you, if both my wife and I could transfer to England tomorrow with our jobs we would.
My Opinion Matters That's a wonderful perspective and a very heartwarming one. I guess, as with every institution there is an underbelly that cultivates less desirable dealings that are not common knowledge, and which the public are not privy to. We as a public never have the full picture, it's mostly airbrushed, the Royals are historically corrupt, but with a good public appearance. That said, your comment/perspective has made me pause for thought, with thanks.
LightDweller respect for taking pause. Sometimes social media post turn into one sided rants...I have really made an effort to not do that to be more approachable online. But Approachable is a 2 way street, if the other person isn’t open to a different point of view (not necessarily having their mind changed) then it’s often a pointless conversation from the beginning.
@@lightdweller1 In the Unites States and other countries, there are paid spokespersons , chairmen and chairwomen, CEO, CFO ,and Presidents of most charities, which are all paid jobs and it cuts into from the amount received from donations, that is spent on those served from these charities. They serve as diplomats around the world and around Great Britain. No President, or Prime Minister travels around their country or their territories/Commonwealth as frequently as the royal family and the Queen have, and to serve, acknowledge, and engage with healthcare professionals, firefighters. the Police, the Military , and those who serve the British public.
Your Nanna, fault of an old brain perhaps!? On a more serious note, giving to charity isn't a business. It also requires a long term commitment that will need a lot of financial support. So putting all their money in all their charities wouldn't be a wise choice. Contributing their time is better than financially supporting them on their own. If they were to directly put the money for each of their causes instead of using their royal status to raise the funds for their charities, bc they have many charities, at this point, they would be so broke that they would need charity themselves! You don't need to be rich to donate money or other wise to charities for those who are less fortunate than yourself/ves. In addition, they know super rich people, who would be willing to contribute a lot. That's why they do it that way. You wouldn't want to do good if it requires spending every cent you have. Would you do that???

that guy on the counter who says he doesn't know what the royal family does and that they don't serve a purpose needs to be educated. and oh yes poor closed-minded guy, he doesn't know what his leaders do for him and his country. I'm fascinated by this family, they don't really have a choice but to carry out these many duties for the country, I just hope they are truly happy in closed doors.
They all raise money for nonprofits, bring awareness to issues the economy of all in the Commonwealth and supportive of military issues and other countries supporting their issues and brining attention there etc. They bring fame and attention to all her countries and power very important something other countries don't have that are not part of her. I see the value of them focusing on these issues maintaining the power of England etc. I love the history the queen knows and the wisdom she can give concerning issues to the P.M.
Before half-way I found myself thinking that - sooner rather than later - the FAMILY might want to allow & very actively participate in, perhaps a year long, weekly broadcasted in-depth, “A Week in the Lives of” Series about what, how & why they so contribute and in many aspects LEAD this nation? Just a thought. After all, look at the politicians... just about everywhere. Subbed.
Duke of Gloucesters' brother is who Prince William is named for. Terribly sad story of his untimely death and the secret love he too was forced to give up.
In hindsight, I am not sure if when talking about Prince Andrew, that he would want to explain the virtues of Prince Andrew in relation to Prince Andrew's skill in developing networks. As we all now know what sort of networks were of particular interest to Prince Andrew. The less said, the better.

I am a teacher and I know youth. Due to inexperience their actions can have tragic consequences. That young man who doubts the monarchy does not know much yet...
Agreed, It's HIS youthful ignorance and lack of life experience that's being displayed, rather than any shrewd appraisal of the monarchy's function...(or lack thereof..)
The people who wants to remove the queen should look at the financial aspect. The queen brings in almost seven times the amount of money that she receives. If England would remove the monarch it would cost them way more and you can’t really figure the complete cost because of tourist.
good to see Nicholas Witchell or ` these bloody people- I cant bear that man` as Charles said of him. Like Jenny Bond who liked to give the impression that she and the Queen often took tea together- until the Queen was heard to say of her 'it's that awful woman` , career over
If I had to vote on who should get the crown after Her Majesty, it would be William or Edward. Both have strong, happy marriages, neither has had a boat load of scandal ruining their reputation, and they're both incredibly down to Earth, in spite of their positions. Anne would be my 3rd option....she is a hard worker, but I fear her personality would be something sensitive people couldn't handle. LOL. Just like her father. Rest peacefully, Prince Phillip!
hahahhaha LOL 41:05 Is that insulated roof? That's ultimate level of architects boredom. Roofs and ventilation systems, always nice to watch them when you're waiting in supermarket line.
I'm generally a fan of the Royal Family, but Prince Andrew just makes me cringe. When that CBI man is pumping up his ego about the mobile phone conference, the way the Duke of York smiles is so cringeworthy, knowing the reports of his corruption.
Prince Edward seems to be the gentler non brusque gentler voiced one of the Queens 4 children Charles and Anne always seemed so brusque and unemotional Andrew well what can you say about him tied up with the Epstein scandal. Mind you he was the best looking one. Do those anti royals know how much money in tourism the RF brings in. It far outweighs what taxpayers contribute. I think Harry would have liked to have remained in the Army for a few more years.
Prince Charles has improved in leaps and bounds in terms of public and media interaction. He is by nature is shy and sensitive, but has come out of his shell in recent years and come into his own. It’s not fair to compare him to William who is younger and hasn’t had to deal with a hostile press, Charles has acted with dignity and worked hard for the RF without looking for praise. His speeches are second to none.
Jane Doe, I agree with you, what the princess should have said was when you gained your independence. Most unlike Alexandra, she's always been one one of my favourites and very unassuming .
I am not a fan of Prince Charles and understand why people don't want a monarchy with him in charge. Having said that, you love his boys and they had two parents that raised them. Give him some credit.
He happens to be one of the most fabulous out of the group. He genuinely cares about people and the state of the country. He gets a poor wrap because he is a fantastic man. You are right...give him some credit.
The UK monarchy absolutely generates all sorts of revenue for the country. I can tell you they do a fair sight better than the leaches in US politics. The royal family is out generating revenue for charities. Which again few and far between US politicians are doing anything for charity.
Ok, moments of gold in here: Princess Alexandra 36:52 " You know I know your country?" reply " Do you?" HRH answers " I gave it independence" ( My reply- " Did you ma´am? I rather thought it was the votes of the people that did that. You , madam, hoisted a flag. Hardly the same thing...") 47:08 "The Prince (Andrew) is in Oman for business not pleasure"..Yeah, ´coz for pleasure he has his old mate Jeffrey and 16 yr old girls...OOOps I meant Pizza Express in Woking,..... Prince Philip 52:55 re the Gulf states/the arab world "....look at ´em now, they´re happy, they all get along..."(Thats why you are here, to stop them killing each other) ummm yeah, apart from saudi vs. yemen, iran vs iraq, they all f&$%%ng hate each other wtf planet do these people live on!? The guy at 18:29 who collects all the court circulars....(shhhhh, virgin alert :D) 24:36 Prince Edward being breathtakingly patronising, 34:40 Prince Andrew leering "This is going to be fun" whilst glancing at the woman next to him´s tits...(now, now Andy she isn´t 15, hands off!!) 41:07 Prince Richard being far more interested in the roof insulation than the dance that is being done for him, Prince Philip to a black soldier " How did you get into this? By mistake? ....What was your recruiting office thinking? It was some kind of holiday agency or something?" No words! :D
Yes, Alexandra's chat with the Nigerian gentleman was cringe-inducing. Nigeria is the biggest country in Africa (population-wise); only a totally ignorant person wouldn't have heard of the place. As for "giving it independence", oh Lord 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
They are English and they dont know what royalty is about. Out of everyone I think the Windsors have the most to keep up with. Dont disrespect authority. What is coming to the world?
Omg if I had a job like this, being chauffeured around, helicoptered around with servants standing behind me to tell me who is who I'd be in heaven. They don't know what real work means. Showing up to open drapes or cut ribbons and make inane smalltalk is not work.
Yeah when the British people have a problem with them I'm sure you will be the first to know. Until then show some respect to a woman who at the age of 90 fucking 1 is still completing civil engagements & has dutifully & flawlessly served the British people for over 60 years!
I know what you mean, I felt the same way about prince Charles, but you can’t hold a grudge forever, and since he has been working hard to support climate change and the British laborers I’m pretty okay with him now
I don't think America is built for this kind of stuff...we're not too big on bowing to mere mortals, we show respect or the lack there of via tweets, just ask our tweeter in chief, i don't know which is more embarrassing tbh.
What a lesson in sycophancy! The Brits have really mastered that art. They should give lessons on how to be as sycophantic as possible. One never knows - a tax break could be on the cards. A village is missing an idiot who goes by the name of Andy Windsor. Please return if found; it's not his fault. A handsome reward of a new set of golf clubs is on offer.
I believe Andrew thinks his brother an idiot for everything he did in his marriage being with Camilla for 1 minute. Howvit ruined so many things for everyone. His continues good relationship with his ex shows class and out shines Charles by a mile.
Debbie Strom if you study the way it all happened. I think Charles is with the person he should always have been with. All sad but I think Charles is very happy.
I would absolutely trade the queen for Donald trump. I would not however trade congress for the British parliament or our laws for British laws and tax. They hammer their people down with taxes.
Why does William not wear his seat belt? Is it not compulsory in England? He is setting a very bad example to all young people. Given his status he should know better. So should his advisors. Plus the driver. Here in Australia if you are the driver & one of your passengers is caught not wearing a seatbelt, the driver, as well as the non belted up passenger are both fined plus the driver receives points on his licence.
I once read that the Royal Family are told not to wear seat belts for security reasons. If there is an attack or something they need to get out of the car as quickly as possible. This won't help them in a crash unfortunately.
DIANA.....HAD HER GOOD SIDE, HELPING THE CHARITIES SHE BELIEVED IN ..... BUT SHE COULD ALSO USE THE PRESS FOR HER EGO ....AND THE PRESS WHO STARTED THE DAMMED NONSENSE, WE'RE BABYS IN THE BLOODY WOODS EITHER... THEY AND HER DRIVER ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER TERRIBLE DEATH.
The Princes Trust is such an excellent cause

Every country needs history and every society needs someone whom everybody respects from PM to local guy. History pages, forts, swords are history but such a monarchy is a living history. It does everything that history does and binds people together. I wish even India has a system where President plays more role
PERFECTAS PALABRA'S ... RIGHT WORD'S THANKS
Here after the interview.
I don’t understand....the royal family raise multi-millions for the charities..they are worth it.
Don't take any notice of what an American person has to say about English royal family. They don't understand
+Rachelle Chery There speaks a very clever person. I like your reply. Very well said.
Neil O'Neal, people reading this need to understand that you are a drop kick Irishman with a potato where a brain should be.I trust you remain in Kindergarten until mammy collects you, shall we say 30 years from now?.
Neil O'Neal,Your first sentence is anatomically impossible.Back to sex education for you.And don't forget this,if H.M. should be so unfortunate as to meet you,you must Kneel Neil O'Neal!
0:47 Being Royal is a Job for Life... Harry “Fuck this shit I Quit” ✌🏻😂🤷🏻♂️
A job that that you don't retire from! You have to pick your friends wisely!
that guy on the counter who says he doesn't know what the royal family does and that they don't serve a purpose needs to be educated. and oh yes poor closed-minded guy, he doesn't know what his leaders do for him and his country.
God bless Princess Diana for raising good boys.
Subbed.
Being royal is a job for life zooms in on Harry 😂. In all seriousness I’m on both teams I love Harry but I also love our queen and most other members
I think the combination of the British Monarchy and the parliamentary cabinet system is very stable and efficient. haha
The segment on Prince Andrew hasn’t aged well!

Harry's wife could never be this selflessly bound to honouring a tradition of duty of serving the commonwealth & non profit charities . She wants the perks & accolades without the hard work that the ENTIRE family does for the poor & down trodden
He should have never married that American narcissist. (I'm American)
I think she's the female DUMB donnie, EX president. Equally as narcissistic as DUMB donnie TRAITOR- but she's not a sociopath the way diaper donnie is.
"I don't see what they do."
Well, that proves they're doing it well.
That poor man who played the wrong note at the end of the fanfare D:
It was too long of a fanfare. They would do better with less horns. It did make me laugh. I imagine everyone in the room cringing.
Not the easiest on some of the harmonics/notes - they are very close together. It happens.
The people who wants to remove the queen should look at the financial aspect. The queen brings in almost seven times the amount of money that she receives. If England would remove the monarch it would cost them way more and you can’t really figure the complete cost because of tourist.
This film is over 20 years old!
48:54 That feeling that a man next to you with a sharp knife tucked in his robe, LOL
What is that soldier saying at 54:01?
Andrew's hubris is palpable. Seems like a man of fine taste though.
When was this made? Early 2000's I'd assume
There's definitely a bit of "Alan Partridge" about Prince Edward I think....lol
28:10 dude in the back with the party vibes 😂
49:39 at his normal blustering, self absorbed best.
Andrew over here acting like he isn't a nonce 🤣
The Royals work very hard
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh dear ... in hindsight, things have changed but good to look back to what it used to be
28:14 lookin the background 😂
good to see Nicholas Witchell or ` these bloody people- I cant bear that man` as Charles said of him. Like Jenny Bond who liked to give the impression that she and the Queen often took tea together- until the Queen was heard to say of her 'it's that awful woman` , career over
if you campare to the Franch, 63 cents is hell of bargain
If I had to vote on who should get the crown after Her Majesty, it would be William or Edward. Both have strong, happy marriages, neither has had a boat load of scandal ruining their reputation, and they're both incredibly down to Earth, in spite of their positions. Anne would be my 3rd option....she is a hard worker, but I fear her personality would be something sensitive people couldn't handle. LOL. Just like her father. Rest peacefully, Prince Phillip!
hahahhaha LOL 41:05 Is that insulated roof? That's ultimate level of architects boredom. Roofs and ventilation systems, always nice to watch them when you're waiting in supermarket line.
vivaparenzo I laughed and had secondhand embarrasment for him when I watched him say that! Duhhh!
They are a brand , just like Martha Stuart
Prince William is so handsome, he's a lot more comfortable in front of the camera than the Prince of Wales
Rule Britannia ! Long Live King Charles III !
41:03 how awkward 😂😂
Prince William is going to be a wonderful King someday
36:52 sorry but that comment bugs me. there's got to be a different way to phrase that
Jane Doe, I agree with you, what the princess should have said was when you gained your independence. Most unlike Alexandra, she's always been one one of my favourites and very unassuming .
I agree - independence shouldn't have been ours to 'give'. It was their independence and wealth etc. that we stole in the first place.
@@squid3575 they didn’t even exist as a nation
@@squid3575It’s only your wealth if you can defend it from others. That’s the nature of great power politics on the world stage across history.
Andrew doesn't sweat the small stuff
I LOVE YOU..I LOVE YOU
I am not a fan of Prince Charles and understand why people don't want a monarchy with him in charge. Having said that, you love his boys and they had two parents that raised them. Give him some credit.
He happens to be one of the most fabulous out of the group. He genuinely cares about people and the state of the country. He gets a poor wrap because he is a fantastic man. You are right...give him some credit.
@@Elizabeth-nl5ui Elizabeth, Well said, I completely agree.
FF to 2024 - Prince Andrew has been stripped of his titles and patronages and Harry doesn’t even live in the UK anymore.
hi prince andrew
Just laughing for the sake of laughing! Reminds me of office work.
That pregnant lady with prince Charles. Lol.
What is Elena
Look at Harry. So miserable. Not. Only misery is his wife ! Shelf he’s ruined his ticket
The UK monarchy absolutely generates all sorts of revenue for the country. I can tell you they do a fair sight better than the leaches in US politics. The royal family is out generating revenue for charities. Which again few and far between US politicians are doing anything for charity.
27:37 And someone in America said they are racist. Oh dear.
I think he wants to know if I have
Ok, moments of gold in here: Princess Alexandra 36:52 " You know I know your country?" reply " Do you?" HRH answers " I gave it independence" ( My reply- " Did you ma´am?
I LOVE YOU/ș./
To bad he got .messed up with Jerry Do
epsteine he is good at his job!
Not only does he like little girls but he's bit of a dick
They are English and they dont know what royalty is about. Out of everyone I think the Windsors have the most to keep up with. Dont disrespect authority. What is coming to the world?
Omg if I had a job like this,
being chauffeured around, helicoptered around with servants standing behind me to tell me who is who I'd be in heaven.
The word value is used to explain away money spent on the royal family. It must have a double or triple meaning because it gets confusing.
Mr Gloucester should get a proper job
I despise Charles . Love William and Harry. Princess Diana did a marvellous job raising them Edward is likable
June ann Lloyd Charles is wonderful.
I know what you mean, I felt the same way about prince Charles, but you can’t hold a grudge forever, and since he has been working hard to support climate change and the British laborers I’m pretty okay with him now
Prince William 😍😍😍
I don't think America is built for this kind of stuff...we're not too big on bowing to mere mortals, we show respect or the lack there of via tweets, just ask our tweeter in chief, i don't know which is more embarrassing tbh.
So do we sionara11.
Charles didn't say that when his first wife was more popular than him!
Dinah didn't survive ...per Prince of Essex quote.
- They live of charities, so they cannot retire. -
I would absolutely trade the queen for Donald trump. I would not however trade congress for the British parliament or our laws for British laws and tax. They hammer their people down with taxes.
Being royal is a job for life - where the average schlep is burnt out by 65 and ends up in an olds people's home and she flies up to Balmoral.
Incredible schedule they all must take on. No wonder daft Harry escaped - he must not like to work too hard
surprised the diplomat from the Cayman Islands didn`t offer to stash some of her cash for tax purposes. He was doing it for most of the Tory party.
"Show me the money!" says "the members of the firm".
