      I just read a news report while looking for more information on the case. Not only did he say what he did in court, he consoled Hennis' sister after the court martial trial and told her he sympathizes with her situation. And he's said in interviews since that he holds no ill will toward the Hennis family, nor is he clamoring for Hennis' execution. That's guru on a mountain levels of grace and compassion.
      (Side note, he did also say that if Hennis was executed he would feel that would simply be the Hennis earned, so he's not arguing against it, just doesn't really care either way)

    How incredibly frustrating for the surviving Eastburns & devastating for Tim’s family. I can’t imagine how utterly disgusted his wife must’ve felt. I’m so glad that the military officials didn’t allow him to slip his greasy ass through the cracks of the justice system! As a criminal justice major, this had me going through so many emotions! Yeah, for me though the justice Tim finally got hit with is not fair justice, it is discriminatory in that any non-military person would not have been tried again, and that they conned him into re-enlisting in order to charge him - isn't that very similar to entrapment? Obviously, though he is guilty and deserves punishment morally. A really awful situation!

    I’ve heard this story before BUT as usual, with Mike telling it I could hear it 20 times more. I’m soooo glad this family FINALLY received justice even if it took 25+yrs, proves once again no one is above the law not even an Army colonel. Thanks Mike YOURE AWESOME

    This story is crazy, I'm glad justice was served but it took so long. I can't imagine that was the only crime he committed.

    This one was a rollercoaster! At first when Mike was going through the evidence against Tim Hennis and I was thinking “oh yeah, he did it!”, but then when everything came up that shed doubt on his guilt I was thinking “wow, maybe he is innocent and it was just a perfect storm to make Tim look so guilty. There is definitely doubt that he did it”. And then when he was acquitted, I started to feel bad for him getting caught up in all of it simply because of the dog stuff..just to end up losing a few years of his life and those fundamental young years with his daughter over it all. But then…nope, he really did it. Like what? Such an insane story!

      that's exactly how i felt watching this! it's such a crazy story, i'm so glad DNA techonogy has advanced to let us catch the true killer

      Well when you watch the killers talk, they will mention things that make absolutely no sense because they don't exactly correlate with what happen. Like when he said "I would never do that. I have two little girls of my own". Or something like that.
      That's sketchy to me because he shouldn't be able to do it because it's horrific. Nothing having to do with him having children of his own. There should be no one other reason besides it's just horrible.

      Hey Brittany - seems like when suspects make declarative statements like "I would never...", "I'm not that kind...", "I have a child her age...", they turn out to be the killers. I don't know the psychology, but I think it was one of the reasons why Madeleine McCann's parents were suspected initially.

    I look forward to That Chapter every week. I even got my Mom and Brother watching and listening to it. The podcast with the pirate ship and stranded on a island is great on my Spotify playlist. Thanks for both great stories you tell so well! I really do appreciate it!

    This is the most horrifying story you’ve told. I’ve watched hundreds of stories from you and this one is the first to ever make me feel truly terrified.

      It’s as shocking as it is heartbreaking. How could his own family ever look at him again, knowing what he has done?

  • @yongwilson929
    @yongwilson929 Рік тому +9

    Thanks! That was insane. It took the state to go to the military and ask them for help to convict a criminal because the state screwed up twice (double jeopardy). You rarely see that, it was the kids and violation of the wife, that probably made DOD, Feds help the state. Ty n aloha

    • @gizmo5601
      @gizmo5601 Рік тому +1

      What are you talking about? What screw up? 1. It wasn’t the military that initiated a cold case investigation that led to his conviction. That was the State. 2. In the 1980s the State did not have available DNA testing. Again, it was the State that investigated once this technology was available and found him to be a match. The military was not involved. 3. It was the State that approached the military to request that he was prosecuted only because it was the only available run around double jeopardy.

    Things I've learned from Mike's videos, positive edition.
    Live life to its fullest everyday, be the hard target and walk tall, make good friends and distance yourself from those who aren't good to you, help and care for others. Those things at least make your life meaningful and send you into an isolation chamber from fear and paranoia. Be good to each other, and if your time comes, die with dignity and the knowledge you were the change needed in this world.
