‘We’ve been lying to you’ … and there seems to be some dust in my eyes. What a brilliant video. Kudos to you, Matt, and the whole extended family for what you’ve done here.
Wrecked, sold for 200 dollars, worked for a year in the Sierra Nevada, got stuck behind a rockslide and sat for 30 years, was dragged through a RIVER when it was finally recovered, and spent 6 months in the shop...that little nugget's been on one HELL of a journey. Great job getting it back to its owner!
"and spent 3 years in the shop" 6 months. When he said 3 years he was talking about how long a build like that would normally take. "that little nugget's been on one HELL of a journey. Great job getting it back to its owner!" There's not much left of it now; just the frame (though they cut some stuff off it and made some other modifications to it) and a few odds and ends. The entire body and entire drivetrain came from different vehicles.
I've been watching this channel for a couple of years now. When I first discovered Matt's off-road recovery there were only about 10 or 11 videos, and he had a lot less gray in the beard. During this restoration, I watched and discovered every channel that participated and became a fan of theirs as well. I'm an older guy myself and what you all did for Ed brought a tear to my eye. You are all amazing.

I'M CRYING!!! This really yanked on my heart strings knowing that all this was done with compassion for Ed. The world needs this: Be Human/ Be Kind!
@@matthewclifton5530 yep. I always figured it to be a "major items" or time thing. If you change the body and engine, it's not the same vehicle. If you change the engine 10 years ago and the body today, it's kinda the same vehicle. Changing everything in one go, in my opinion, it's not the same Golden Nugget. When Matt said “ I’m gonna need your help with this one.” I choked up. When Ed saw it and his face lit up, my heart soared. This is one of the most selfless things I’ve ever seen. This was truly a wonderful thing you people did. Ed’s a lucky man to be blessed with friends like you guys. Well done,we’ll done.
The smile on Ed's face was priceless. Someone needs to get Ed on UA-cam so that he can watch all of the restoration videos. Paul and Robby were just awesome!
Nobody should have to watch all that sanding.. lol.
I think that might be something they are doing for Patreon
Man...this is the 2nd video of yours I watched where you took care of someone who works for you, that alone will continue to make you successful..taking care of those who take care of you, and because you want to, and you can see the emotion behind these reveals, the Bronco and this. Brother, you are a true friend to your employees.
I haven't had that big of a smile of my face for that long in a loooong time! My face hurts from smiling so much! Congrats to Ed!!! You get from life what you put into life, Ed deserves every minute that boys worked on that vehicle!
Ed too!
Just sirrrr. I also had the biggest smile on my face too. I'm still pumped about this.
Same!
Ed has no idea just how many people all around the world have been anxiously awaiting his reaction and care so much for him. Literally millions of people are so thankful for all of the awesome people and the work they have put into this. Thank you Matt and everyone involved. What a journey.
I know, broh --- watching Ed tear up and be so thankful just made me misty-eyed --- when you are 84 yrs. old, then you wake up every day feeling blessed because you know it might be your last --- so happy to see an old timer get sweet moments like this :-)
I'm not crying! You're crying!! My cheeks hurt from smiling through the whole video while crying happy tears. I've been watching these videos since you guys pulled it off the claim. The amount of love, respect, time and talent all of you have put into the Golden Nugget is beyond angelic. Not to mention the money spent on parts and paint. Massive thanks and bear hugs to every single person that had even the smallest little part in making this happen!!
Yeah, I'm not crying either! You're totally crying! Ha ha ha! I think most of us are crying -- what a heart-warming project. Great work!

That felt good to watch. Thanks everyone for topping up the faith in humanity tank again.
Did you get a burning in your bosom?
“You guys are… you guys are funnin’ me” hahaha Ed is the best
It was a blast watching Paul and Robby resurrect the Golden Nugget. Can’t wait for the videos of Ed putting it to work!
100% need more gold nugget sunday.
"and spent 3 years in the shop"
6 months. When he said 3 years he was talking about how long a build like that would normally take.
"that little nugget's been on one HELL of a journey. Great job getting it back to its owner!"
There's not much left of it now; just the frame (though they cut some stuff off it and made some other modifications to it) and a few odds and ends. The entire body and entire drivetrain came from different vehicles.
The look on Ed's face was priceless truly a great thing you did for Ed.
So true
I’m just glad Ed’s health stayed strong through this awesome adventure…. God bless you guys… Good job humanity
Dude what the heck lmao
he is like 85.. he gun live to be 100 to 105 still got 15-20 years left man!

Many have been worried about his health specially during the pandemic and it made them work harder to finish the project in time so he could enjoy it.
Thought the same!!!!
Mr Ed is part if the reason I always watch the videos, he reminds me so much of my Granpa...tears n my eyes on this one, Ed is SALT OF THE EARTH, ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE CRUE ARE!👍 True Friends Are Priceless in this World.
Priceless!
"Doesn't look stuck to me."
What an adventure this has been.
Congratulations!
I've watched this at least 10x, teared up every time, Ed's reaction was worth it all...great job done well to all involved
When Matt walked up to Ed and said, "I'm gonna need your help with this one." My "allergies" kicked in. This is such a wholesome channel. Thank you guys for the great content! Congrats Ed!!!
Allergies, I never thought of that. Couldn’t pin point the Strange Feelings causing watery Eyes, you Nailed it. Thank You
Yes, this was good allergies.
Same here!
allergies kicked in..code word you shed a tear of happiness and fuzzy feelings inside like the rest of us..good stuff here and great people
I don't even have allergies! Must be the onions. Ya! That's it!
I"m just making my way back through older ones I haven't seen. I realized I was smiing as I watched this one. I think that is common with the videos out of MORR. It is my number one favorite channel.
I salute each and everyone of you for the passion, love, kindness, generosity, selflessness, and genuine care you have for Ed . He means so much to each and everyone of you that participated in bringing this man back to one of his prized, and long awaited possessions. I have seen every video and still remember his look and the story when he saw the Nugget out in the forest for the first time after all those years. To see his face again with it finished, reminds me how you should never put off making memories, because nobody knows the time we have left. Enjoy every moment you have with Ed. Ed, enjoy every moment with the Golden Nugget and the people you love. I love all of you. I hope some day, I can be in a situation to do something similar for the ones I love. God bless you all, your families, your businesses. You're all amazing! Thank you for bringing wholesome videos that are a joy to watch into our lives!
I haven't smiled as long as I did when I watched this in a long time. You could hear it in Ed's voice how surprised and thankful he was. Thanks to everyone for making Ed's day
ED!!!!!
The most popular guy on UA-cam.
Seeing his face light up was priceless.
Big shout-out to everybody who made the Golden and Trail Nuggets happen!
I still chuckle every time I see Ed’s cutout in Robbie’s shop.
And ED did not watch UA-cam. Thanks for everyone involved and watched.

Love the sacrifice of so many to honor a senior pioneer. Thanks for reminding us all how valuable our fathers and ancestors are. Lots of work went into the restore and even the surprise party. Well done!!!
This seriously brought tears to my eyes. Everyone that worked on this for Ed is amazing. I hope one day I can make it to Utah so I can meet Ed and y'all.
me too! Applying for a WAY better job, and hope to make something comparable to the Banana! although I am sure nothing will compare to that jeep - ever!
Yeah man, a few of Matt’s videos have done that for me too
We met the team at Winter 4X4 Jamboree and they were seriously so cool. We bought some merch and Trevor said he would get everyone’s signatures then literally walked all over the place looking for Matt and Lizzy and Rudy to get their autographs. We chatted with Matt for a minute. Seriously awesome group of people.
This is a great representation of what social media can do, Ed you have more friends than you will ever know. The work on the Nugget and Rokon was amazing, thanks for the series!
@05:09 The best moment of this video....the part when Ed realizes "The Golden Nugget" is his golden nugget. I can't imagine all the thoughts going through his head at one time. What a great build series between Matt's Off Road Recovery, Fab Rats, Robby Layton, Bikes & Beards, Chads Fab and all the other people involved in this project. It's been exciting to watch. Most of all, I am glad that Ed got to see his LJ20 fully restored.
What a nice gesture of appreciation!!! Matts off road recovery all of you are the best!!!!!! I really like your content and keep doing the good job!!! 👍 from Minnesota!
That look on Ed’s face when he realized what he was seeing, but still couldn’t quite believe it..priceless. Congratulations Ed 🎉🥳👏 mining is a hard life and I’m glad you got to have this wonderful experience. Everyone did a great job, just amazing

Found the recovery video. Wanted to watch it all, fell into a rabbit hole, watched every episode across 4 channel. Man what a job you've done. It took me almost a week beautiful when he pulled up to the parking lot when all the people where there.
What an amazing friend you are Matt, this is so heart warming! ❤

Ed is a great guy. he really deserved this. glad you were able to give it to him. "don't think I've ever seen anything as nice as this" everyone made his dream come true.
The look on Ed's face says it all!!! I am so glad that you allowed us to be part of this project. Matt, Ed is so lucky to have people like you and all the supporters on this project in his life.
Ed is seriously the reason I started watching the show. I love his comments and the weather. You make me cry.
What’s the story with Ed? Is he just a neighbor or what?
i found this gang of people a few months before the golden nugget project. throughout this series ive found a family of people that i respect and would be less of a human if i had not found them. i dont care about the rock crawling but i love the rescues, the fabricating, and the sense of honor and family that runs through all of these channels involved!!
This illustrated what a great community we have in off-road enthusiasts in general and in the Southern Utah community specifically. You all ROCK!
Watching Ed finally drive the Nugget was well worth the wait. Freaking awesome to see that perm a grin on his face.
I followed the entire restauration and this is the moment I've been waiting for so long. This project for Ed is really something. You guys (all involved) are great. And from the other side of the world (Portugal) I really feel so happy for Ed. You all aren't just a team. You're family. Keep up making the difference in someone's life.

Im not crying your crying.
I'm glad no one saw me crying. I did see a tear on Ed's face.
You could see that Ed wasn't sure what to make of it when he first saw the Nugget. He probably thought his eyes were going bad.

Thanks to all that made this possible, from Cheshire, England.
This is such an amazing story and has been a joy to follow. The whole team just killed it. Matt, Robby Paul and Company.

If you change the body and engine, it's not the same vehicle. If you change the engine 10 years ago and the body today, it's kinda the same vehicle.
Changing everything in one go, in my opinion, it's not the same Golden Nugget. The whole thing was done for UA-cam views and to help build the three channels and it achieved its goal.
