Hello. I am the owner of Dodge. I just wanted to let everybody know he crossed the rainbow bridge today. He had epilepsy and had a cluster seizure session and he could not Come out of it cause they just kept coming. I just wanted to thank you all and especially to you the groomer for giving my big boy a chance when nobody else would I miss my boy so much
This breed is extremely clever and well behaved if raised and trained properly. Props to the owner, this giant beautiful beast is so friendly and gentle
"He doesnt seem to have the typical temperment of a caucasian sheppherd" Thats the beauty of good socialisation as a puppy. My neo mastiff was the best party dog - getting pats from each guest and sitting on their feet so they wouldnt leave without doing so. He LOVED tradesmen, and would run out the front door by a metre (never further because that would be rude and naughty) and flop all 65kg of him on the ground in protest so these nice strangers wouldnt leave. He was a nightmare with dogs... in that he had no idea of his size and loved to try playing with the smallest of puppies. He adored the vets looking after him during his final months battling cancer, and he is very missed.
Holy cow, he really is a unicorn, barely even reacted to the dryer! Ive had the honor of helping to train and desensitize a young Caucasian Shepard and it's not easy! His owners have put some good work into him.
It'll never stop being satisfying seeing such a well behaved and well trained dog. It takes a lot of effort, but it gives the dog the best chance to have a good life that isn't full of fear/aggression.
I thought he looked at times unconcerned about the hair flying, to slightly interested in this event of "fur showers" BTW, he looked awesome after the groom! Superb job in managing him, and grooming him!
My boy was a 215 lb gentle giant unless you attempted to enter our house or yard without permission. He lived to be 10. He and I had a rough start, but after I rolled him a few times out back and let him know I was the boss, he was great. I used to call him our living furniture. He would always lay at my feet next to the couch. He loved his grooming visits. She loved her appts with him. I miss him. RIP Harley.
@moldbellchains5709 it isn't. It's literally what they do in packs. The pack leader would put its teeth on their neck or stand over them until they show their belly and submit. You don't have to do it hard. You just gently lay them on their side and make them show their belly. These dogs rarely respond to food. Most guard dog breeds aren't food motivated once grown. This breed, in general, can easily stop obeying an owner if the owner doesn't keep up on the training.
I grew up with Ovcharkas, they really are gentle giants with people they know, but they are ferocious guard dogs. This baby boy is an adorable floofy lad. ❤
yess when i was a kid mine would let me do anything i wanted but if stranger went through gate to my house he could do some serious damage, once you introduced someone to him and he knew its a friendly he was chill
We had a Brazilian mastiff that was the same way. That he wasn't socialized well by his first owners didn't help. On walks, he was a beautifully behaved and polite guy, but on our property, we always had to be very particular about how we introduced him to anyone new. He slipped and fell on the ice on our back patio one day and badly injured his hips/back. He couldn't get up to walk so my mom and I had to carry/limp him back inside. It had to have hurt him, but he didn't growl once. Unfortunately, at his size and age and with his pre existing back end issues, we had to put him to sleep. He wasn't an easy/low maintenance dog, but he was a very good boy.
The owner does a fabulous job in maintaining his coat, and kudos for you encouraging other groomers to keep him so the owner doesn't have to drive too long. This dog is a literal living teddy bear
@@dorothybrown8859They don't behave the same when they are not on their territory. Our Caucasian is very docile and easy going when out for the walk, however it can be very aggressive towards strangers back home. They are independent and smart breed and they do not require a lot of attention from the owner, hover it can be very protective of its surroundings. I wouldn't recommend this breed if you are looking for a play mate (they will not fetch you any balls anyway), however they are excellent guard dogs. We went for Caucasian because we had a break-in, and since we have this dog, junkies somehow lost interest in our property 😂
Other groomers aren’t turning him away because they want to, but most of us don’t have walk in showers or lax grooming regulations like her. All tubs at my salon are lifted meaning if he wouldn’t go up the stairs, I couldn’t do it. Also, unless you work for yourself like her, it is against safety regulations at most salons to do a dog on the ground untethered like that. Meaning he can only go to a groomer who works for themselves and has a step in tub. A lot of which are pretty old people and can’t handle dogs this size anyways so they also have to be on the younger side. Sometimes she says some weird stuff, but what I think she meant by “encouraging them” is to get this specific kind of groomer to reach out.
@@TheBcoolGuy There seems to be a range and 220 isn't 'big' for black bears, but on the lower side of the average I guess. "The black bear (Ursus americanus) is the most common bear in North America. Adults range from 1.3 to 1.9 meters (4.3 to 6.2 feet) in length and weigh 60-300 kg (132-661 pounds). The largest males can grow up to 2 meters long (6.6 feet) and weigh 409 kg (902 pounds). Males can be up to 70% heavier than females." On average they weigh 300. Sadly, the biggest ones often ended up mounted on walls, or as a rug. California has seen them decline as well; we sort of select smaller bears to survive.
My grandparents had a Norwegian elkhound who’d get pretty stinky… but my grandma would always reassure her by telling her that she “smells like roses”. 😂
This elephant had no fear. Fear seems to underlie a lot of bad behavior in dogs. It’s obvious that his owner has worked intensively with him to socialize and train. He’s also really intelligent. Your constant nattering is probably really helpful, because he’s hearing praise and calm even tho none of what you’re doing makes any sense to him. But it doesn’t hurt, you’re kind, and he hears "good boy" a lot, so he’s willing to go along with the process. 😊
@Phantom-bh5ru Am a dog trainer, canine behaviorist and abuse case foster. Id hazard 90% of "aggressive" behavior comes from one of two things 1) fear 2) humans not understanding a dogs avoidance or "i really dont like this" signals.
I got the feeling the blow dry was his favourite part. His breeders and owners are to be congratulated on his temperament and socialising. Last but not least, Vanessa, your bravery, patience and connection with your clients is wonderful.
I owned a White Caucasian Ovcharka many years ago. I remember spending all of spring and summer brushing her and bathing her outside. Our Martha was chill, laid back, and easy to train. We kept her out year-round. She loved and guarded the family, but everyone else she did not care for. She certainly loved eating.❤We miss our gentle giant. If only there were willing groomers like yourself, thanks for looking after him.😊
you absolutely dont want this person near your dog. Shes using a $10 walmart garden sprayer. Is afraid of the dog. At no point reassures him or even realises he's hot. Whips out multiple loud scary tools and completely ignores his reaction. Ill guarantee she has a lot of dogs who react VERY negatively to her
I really liked his energy of "Well, if I'm going to be stuck here I will tolerate it, but I also refuse to actively cooperate." Which, honestly, for an animal of that size, that might just be for the best.
Это очень старая, проверенная порода, охранная и пастушья...У нас в России сейчас их несколько меньше, а во время СССР это была невероятно мгогочисленная порода!
I know, right?!?! I’ve had 7 golden retrievers who were all phenomenal and not ONE was anywhere near that good with grooming, especially the nail trim! This dog didn’t even act like anything was happening with the trim! 😂❤️❤️❤️
I love that she repeatedly reminds viewers of the fact that giant breeds like this could basically eat her up in like 3 bites but that doesn’t mean to act terrified because they react to you. Like she showed how big just his head was but then later just gave him a little push and he just flopped over, like okay whatever.
When she was rubbing the shampoo in, his expression went from "I'll tolerate this" to "okay, maybe this actually isn't so bad" lol. What an adorable big lug.
fun fact: at the salons i’ve worked in (dog groomer here), we had separation within our plumbing system. One was for the dog hair to go into the drain while the other compartment was for the water. We also have a double hair catcher system in the drain in the tubs lol. It’s specifically for dogs like tibetan mastiffs, huskies, german shepherds, and dogs like this gentleman lol.
I think, like the other replies, I remeber her talking about how cleaning up after extra shedding dogs happen. She said she uses a specific drain catcher for fur so she can easily pick up and make sure her drains are unclogged every time. 😊
I have taken a plumbing job from a dog grooming station before.. It is worse than you think. Of course shops try to mitigate this but years and years of build up happens over time. There's no foolproof way of preventing hair in the drain. I think it had to be like 500 different dogs' hair in there. I was almost convinced that one had died in there, the smell was so bad.
Ovcharka just means a shepherd dog, it's not any specific breed. There are man different ovcharkas - German, Caucasian, Central Asian, Australian, etc.
@@1974djin When people say Ovcharka (sheperd dog in Bulgarian/Russian), it generally refers to shepherd dogs from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus region, not German or Australian.
@@4toby4to we're on the interwebs, and here people come from all around the world. In this international context, we generally attach the language used and the things that originate from that region together. An example is claymore and great sword, words coming from Scotland and England, respectively. Claymore literally means great+sword, but when people say that in an international setting, they specifically refers to great swords from Scotland.
BEYOND IMPRESSED! Ovcharka's are no joke...the owners did one hell of a job getting him desensitized, and you did an amazing job on him! What a good LGD!
Hello Vanessa! My husband grew up with this type of dog, his grandma owned one in white/ beige color!! She was a beastly girl, the mailman couldn’t deliver the mail when she was loose in a backyard. In the winter time she was carrying the sled with 6 grandchildren in it and had fun in the snow!! Standing she was taller then a person!! He has the best memories of this dog
This is a sweet boy, he did so well!! I had a Saint Bernard that I washed at the neighborhood car wash. Tried many times to get him in the bathtub but he refused, so car wash it was! The look on people's faces when they pulled into the stall next to me was priceless!
@donnab2340 A lot of car washes have variable pressure if it's not an auto wash. But yeah, man, I understand the concern because I almost lost a finger at one as a stupid kid.
We used to have a boy this big, he was the goofiest bear, on walks didn't care about anybody, loved kids (not for eating) and I was able to walk him at 15-17(my age at the time). His dad was import from Russia and total oposite :D In spring he(our dog) shed about two sheep of fur, loved to sleep under snow. Passed away when he was 12. Edit: Our dog passed at 12. I wrote as I remembered so it seems a bit confussing :D You did a great job with him!
That’s a long life for a big dog. I love Danes but can’t stand losing them so soon. I had an elderly Dane snd we did not know her age but I think she was 9 when she passed. My kids then got me a beautiful puppy but he fell and injured his back and had to be euthanized at 4. It’s just heartbreaking.
He's the second Caucasian you've done. He's a much happier guy than Rex was lol. Even Rex was a good boy just not as good as this one. He's absolutely gorgeous. He was even more gorgeous and handsome when he was done 😊. His owners did an amazing job training him. They did everything right
"he doesn't mind strangers in the house as long as he gets pets" a perfect description of our family firend's newfounlander. As soon as our 6month old showed him interest he was all sold for her. This dog raised three kids of that friend so he was familiar with smol humans and greatly appreciated pat pats and laughter of our daughter when he sniffed her.
I can’t get over the size of his PAWS!! He really was more like a bear than a dog, lol. And that personality and temperament, he is a magnificently majestic giant beauty and I would’ve spent that extra hour and a half cuddling him, he was so floofy at the end!! Such a wonderful well-behaved giant doggo!! 🐶🐾
One of my neighbors has one. They are pretty mellow dogs. Not too eager for attention, but pleasant with people and enjoy interaction but not obsessive about getting it. Good natured animals, but I wouldn't want to have one. Too short of a lifespan.
As someone who has a 220 pound dog who is an absolute sweetheart, who is often refused services based soley on size and appearance (Bernese Mountain Dog x Great Pyrenese) I really appreciate the time, effort and commitment you offer these pups! truly respect what you do and how you do it.
Reminds me of a dog I used to work on when I was a bather. He is a Newfoundland and great Pyrenees mix. Absolute sweetheart as well! When I would scrub and towel dry his head in the tub he would always rest his head on my chest and all but fall asleep. Sweet boy!!
@@mark-o-man6603 200 PSI is average for a large breed dog. Even a little low. I think he meant 200 more. It's about 300 for a rottie, and those aren't even close to the most dangerous dogs.
@@mat7258They do not have a stronger bite than a lion. That is one of those internet hogwash myths. A lion's skull is a lot bigger than a Caucasian Sheperd's & in carnivores, cranial size/width is a key indicator of bite force
That dog is a giant teddy bear. He's better behaved than most. He let you bathe him, trim his nails, trim his paws, and made him rollover. He didn't even put up a fight. I bet he's a great dog!
I own two of them. 215 lbs and 223 lbs. Abbott and Costello. I just put them in another room when I have company. Big fluffly puppies for me, but absolute tanks. I groom my own too.
I also have 2 and mine are absolutely lovely but would definitely not allow strangers touch them on their territory although seem ok when we go to the vet (he allows us to come after hours when there are no other dogs). Living in a very remote area close to the forest feels great having them guarding the house
My 11 years old Caucasian died two days ago. She was the most beautiful, well-behaved, just overall nice and sweet girl. No one belived that such a big and scary looking dog can be so charming and so calm. Watching you groom this big boy brings me memories of my sweet Yasya. Such a lovely breed❤
My nana's yard neighbor recently brought a Caucasian Ovcharka home, and OMFG, HE'S SUCH A GOOD BOOOOOOY!!!😢😢😢😢 He is so sweet and jumpy!! I love dogs, man, I love them so much!!
Firstly, he's a beautiful boy and was so well behaved. You did a fantastic groom on him.....he looks like a king now.... secondly, this was my late mom's favorite breed, you don't see them around very much, so I feel that seeing this video of you grooming him was a sign from my mom, saying "hello" from heaven. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and for taking him in to groom. 🙏💗🐾💗🙏
What a magnificent beast! With exceptional temperament for a Caucasian Shepard at that! He was probably like "I could fight off a lion, nothing here can threaten me" followed by "don't touch my feet, it tickles :(" Truly marvellous, although I don't think I could handle the literal litres of drool dripping all over him and everywhere else. Love your work, you're so competent, so calm and your voice is so soothing, it makes the video really enjoyable.
He is beautiful!! Thanks to you!! Such a good dog and temperament!! Our neighbors had a Mastiff named Duke who was huge over 200 lb he would come to the shop for the cool sealed concrete floor and he would lay on my legs and trap me underneath vehicles!! I loved his huge drooly face!! Never left without cleaning the fridge of leftovers!! You are a shining example of perfection for all groomers to follow!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Our English Mastiff Beauregarde weighed 265lbs(seriously) and he absolutely loved baths. Groomers loved him! He was the epitome of the meaning of "Gentle Giant". Young lady, dogs can sense your intent. You are a brave and beautiful soul. Edit: Beauregarde also luuuuuved being vacuumed.
I love English Mastiffs and I really love the name that you gave him...a giant dopey musclehead with the name of a Southern gentleman, what's not to love 😊
@@iganpparamarta8813 His head was the same dimensions as an adult male polar bear. He passed on to a place I truly believe God has made for His genuinely beloved creatures. Beauregarde saw everything as if it were a miracle. Snowflakes, butterflies, raindrops, rustling leaves, babies, ice cream cones - his reaction was always the same. His eyes would widen, he would look at me or my husband for permission to inspect. He lived life joyfully!
What a sweet, wonderful boy Dodge was during his grooming! I believe your own sweet, patient, kind manner, and always talking to the animals and praising them on how good they are being helps a lot. God bless you for helping so many fur babies achieve their beautiful looks and higher level of comfort. ❤️🙏
I love your conversations with the animals. We can see that this is more than a job. This is a passion. You tell the pups they smell gross, then apologize to them ❤️
You’re absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen a dog groomer who was as in-tune and knowledgeable. It warms my heart knowing folks like you are out there!!
I think one reason he kept calm was that he understood he was in the presence of a fluff witch and these are just weird things that one must accept for clean fluff 😅
very kind of vanessa to put out an open call for groomers local to dodge's owner! can't imagine a better vouch than this video to showcase his temperament + the speed of this session. wishing dodge's mom all the luck in finding an accommodating groomer!!
I think your personality & temperament put him at ease. If I were his owner, I'd drive 2 hours everytime to have you groom him. Such a positive grooming experience for him 🎉🎉
so thats was it was !! as a child i went around on country roads alot, and there was a farm with an old grandma living next to it. she had a beast of a dog, the thing was a huge mound of muscle and slobber. he would bark at us but we never got close, i think he died when i was around 13, and i remember him from when i was 5. the old woman was his owner, she loved him and he loved her, he was always somewhere lurking when she worked on her garden. to that dog who qcared the living hell out me as a kid, i wish a peaceful rest, to the one you groomed to perfect fluffiness, i wish a long life.
That is truly the biggest dog I've ever seen. Kudos to you for a successful groom. The largest dog we had was an Akita/Lab mix, and he was only 110 pounds. But much like this fellow, he didn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Because he grew up with cats, he took to laying on the back of the couch, and was happy to have kittens use him for a jungle gym. It's been nearly twenty years and I miss him still.
I had an Akita Lab mix as well. At least, mom was Akita ( pure bred, papers carrying show dog ), dad was a volunteer that I assume was a black lab. He was a sweet pup. One of his brothers was NOT a sweet pup. So, either I did a better job of raising mine, or there's a genetic roll of the dice as well.
It would have taken me all my strength not to lie down on the floor next to this floofer and cuddle him for rest of the appointment. He looks phenomenal after the groom! What a gentle , confident, marvelous creature - a hulking testament to his owner's love and care.
This is the absolute best behaved and chillest Ovcharka I've ever seen oh my god. His owners have done such an immense amount of amazing work with him, I'm so impressed!!!
I loved watching you groom this beautiful dog! My daughter is a professional groomer of 15 years and you and she are like kindred spirits of the dog grooming world! She also takes on the animals no one else will do. I can appreciate all the work, both physically and mentally that you expend in taking on the difficult pups! I know that your clients appreciate you very much!
I accidentally wandered into somebody's yard in the Republic of Georgia and came face to face with one of these guys defending his property. That was definitely an experience.
Omg…absolutely stunning dog! Reminds me of my St Bernard/Great Dane, 230lbs..and a total, loving lap dog who never knew a stranger. RIP Rocker Docker..
Major props to the owner(s) for doing such an amazing job training this big beautiful beef machine! I have a Corso, and while extremely trainable loving and smart, they’re stubborn and you really have to be on them every minute of every day from day one to get a temperament like this. That and good breeding! Ovcharkas are such beautiful dogs, and Dodge is a prime example of what big teddy bears they can be if the planets align. Thanks for sharing and taking a chance with him!
I provided care for a family with Filas & Bull Mastiff. 7 dogs in all, very well trained. I'm all of 100# but they were always careful, the owner was a prima ballerina & couldn't risk even an inadvertent injury. Quite the site to have them come thundering up the yard & stop like cutting horses. So sad people pre judge dogs but they do.
He was an incredibly good boy!!! Massive! Handsome beyond imagination! Thanks to his owners for their incredible socialization of him and getting him desensitized to other dogs and accepting other people into his space! Your groom of him is... as always... impressive and excellently done!
As a fellow groomer I just want to say you do an incredible job and I am a home groomer who grooms dogs at homes that aren't accepted in salons . I admire the way you talked to him and read his body language not forcing him through any uncomfortable situation but just going with his flow of things and doing everything you can to just make him comfortable and more light weight and handsome . Your a wonderful groomer. !!!!!!
Cant give enough praise to the owners for socializing such a good boy. I LOVE the pattern on his face, he is gorgeous and a perfect example of what a breed commonly associated with aggressive tendencies can be if given proper training. My friends pitbull has the same tempterment, he leans on your leg and look up at you and puts himself between him and his owner, and he wont let you go anywhere until you pet him. Thats the test for people coming into the house 😂 I want to hug this dog so much. Hes huge!
Just realized I've been watching you for several weeks now and wasn't subscribed. I corrected that. I watch your videos with my youngest daughter and we both love them. We both love animals and learning about them and even I have learned about breeds that I've never even heard of by watching your videos. Thank you!
Just want to reiterate the earlier comment. She has 2 channels. The main channel (Girl with the Dogs) has shorter form content, but is also usually funnier.
I've had one of those fluffy bears... passive resisistance like "i'm just gonna sit here no matter how hard you're going to push me, try me honey" is just their thing, at least from my experience. Bite, growl? Never. But when she REALLY didn't like something she just didn't cooperate AT ALL. She was like "try to do what you want if you have to, but don't count on me on this! I'm officially turning into a mountain unless you change your mind and leave me alone". And since she was huge... well... We called her a tank.
What a huge teddy bear. My friend had a female just as big as him and she didnt care for people. Great guard dog. He told me to be cautious of her and in a few hours we were buddys. He told me NOBODY had been able to pet her and play with her. He was amazed.😂 big dogs Rock❤
The size of his paws😮 He had the Grinchiest of paws and he might have been a bit ticklish 😂❤ Has off to you, Vanessa, for another outstanding grooming session with a "difficult" doggo.😊😊
It wasn’t until I saw the Caucasian Shepherds that I realized dogs dew claws are useful for something. Most dogs dew claws are up so high & get ripped so easily - this breeds are much lower & look almost like a higher placement thumb…or at least form this video it did. 😊
I was so happy to see you grooming a Caucasian. When I lived in the Santa Catalina Mt's North of Tucson Az I had one. Mine was also in the 220-245 bracket. The only male anything that he was able to stand was a human. He did not show any aggression towards a female but he did not like the scent of any male animals. He was very protective of the three woman that lived in the house and also me. His power was extraordinary. You did a fantastic job on your grooming and care of the one you did. Thanx for the showing. It gave me some very loving memories of "BIG DOG".
As a giant breed dog owner, it is an absolute blessing onto my existence that there are talented groomers like you with the skills and capacity to take on jobs like this. I hope the owners of the beauty expressed nothing but enormous gratitude for your services.
You sure Dodge is a Caucasian Shepherd and not a Newfoundland in disguise? Like everyone else, I am beyond impressed with how well behaved he was. Massive kudos to his parents and to you as well, Vanessa. BTW, also amazed that the groom only took two and half hours. Just realized that the previous sentence is testament to how ridiculous massive this bear is. And just wondering, is this (by weight at least) the biggest client you've had?

He handled that incredibly well. I know you've had dogs from 'easier' breeds that haven't been nearly as chill about the whole thing. He's been very well socialized, but I think your demeanor helped too. You weren't afraid of him and showed him affection as you went. Dogs pick up on that. He ended up looking great.
I have a Great Pyrenees, and due to a local groomer declining to groom him (due to his size) I've started doing it myself. I've been watching your videos to see the types of equipment you use and how you use them. I started watching your videos based off a random UA-cam recommendation, but continue to watch them because I've learned how to better take care of my own animal. I appreciate your videos, thanks for making them. :)
I have a Great Pyrenees/Mastiff mix who had a bad experience as a puppy with her first groomer 😢 Took a lot of training to undo the damage. Finally found a groomer that'd take her, so she goes regularly to establish familiarity 🥰
I appreciate you making the effort and I'm sure that your dog feels the same way. Unfortunately there's quite a few "professionals" that are afraid of large dogs. It took me quite a while to find a vet willing to accept my 175lbs Rottweiler, even though he was a marshmallow on the inside.

I just love how he’s essentially a corrupt official: should be guarding his territory but is easily bribable! 😂 What a sweet boy, and what an amazing job you’ve done. Easy to see why the owner drove 2 hours to meet you!
I've met several corrupted guard dogs, one pair of white jindos and another time a golden retriever who would suck up the petting and attention until one day their owners came out of the house and they'd jump back and emit a few barks to make it look like they weren't slacking. Of the 2 jindos, when almost getting busted, one looked up at the sky like he didn't see me and the other proceeded to bark at the ground near me, from the approaching owner, it would look as if he was barking at me but from my angle, he was clearly barking at a stepping stone, I give that last dog credit for smart thinking in a pinch!
Good job to the 'parents '😅 for a well behaved dog (like him),,, and this young lady has an immeasurable love for dogs and very high fear tolerance more than anything,,😅, wow, very cool...

Thats absolutely AMAZING!!!
He was blessed as dog ! ❤
Came here to say this. Hats off to the owners, they have done a phenomenal job with him.
I've always said you get out of your dog what you put into them! His owners deserve a big gold star!
Had to laugh - it was snowing dog fur while you used the blower to dry him - a veritable blizzard 🤣😂🤣
He's an amazing good tempered beast. When being dried he wanted to know if there was an escape clause in the contract.🤣
Kudos to his owners. He was super well behaved. He even seemed to almost enjoy the blow dryer.
I have to imagine that getting all that undercoat out and blowing the fur around feels really nice, especially when it's heavily matted or compacted.
Yeah it looked like the blow drying was his favorite part.
He looked like he was thinking about climbing the wall when she started soaping him though
I thought he looked at times unconcerned about the hair flying, to slightly interested in this event of "fur showers"
BTW, he looked awesome after the groom! Superb job in managing him, and grooming him!
Kudos to the owners on his temperament perhaps, but he is obscenely overweight and no home grooming has taken place, which is pretty lame.

The fact that his owner cried speaks volumes about how Vanessa changes so many lives for the better. She is smart and gifted.

yess when i was a kid mine would let me do anything i wanted but if stranger went through gate to my house he could do some serious damage, once you introduced someone to him and he knew its a friendly he was chill
They're wonderful dogs, if my health was better I'd love to adopt one ❤

The owner does a fabulous job in maintaining his coat, and kudos for you encouraging other groomers to keep him so the owner doesn't have to drive too long. This dog is a literal living teddy bear
Usually they are more like grizzly than a teddy bear.
Demonstrates what love and proper training can do for "aggressive" dogs .

Why she was very careful at the start. Owners and her have proven what’s possible.
That's a very well-behaved bear.
Beautiful one ❤
Some Californian black bears weigh 220 lbs.
@@TheBcoolGuy”some” so does that mean that’s exceedingly heavy for the bears or exceedingly light for them
@@Eee-n6e actually, that's about what they weigh. Some of them weigh exactly 220 lbs. 😊
Males can be up to 70% heavier than females."
On average they weigh 300. Sadly, the biggest ones often ended up mounted on walls, or as a rug. California has seen them decline as well; we sort of select smaller bears to survive.

The patter really helps IMO. They know you're not their momma but you're clearly somebody's momma. I swear they know the soul of everyone they meet.
@@katiekane5247what’s patter and natter?

“Ohhh… that actually feels nice… you can continue…” 😂
I love how when you are blowing him out, it's a snow storm in the shower.
Your plumber must love you.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I bet she snakes the drain herself 😂
fun fact: at the salons i’ve worked in (dog groomer here), we had separation within our plumbing system.
I was almost convinced that one had died in there, the smell was so bad.
it started to look like someone was making cotton candy in there.

It did look like she was blow drying a bear, running to keep up drying him👍🏻✅
I accidentally wandered into somebody's yard in the Republic of Georgia and came face to face with one of these guys defending his property. That was definitely an experience.
Just finished the video. კაი ბიჩო.
Did you turn tail and run or slowly back away?
@@TheBcoolGuy I didn't see them until they were right on top of me cuz I had headphones in. I'm a dog guy so I knew to back up.
My problem is, I love dogs, and I'd want to make friends with them haha, but if he is mean and growling I'd probably run too lol
@@TLDelapore Jus need to know the basics of the animal kingdom, never turn your back to a threat
I love big dogs, I had a husky shepherd 85l, my neighbor had a newfie.
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 This crap has no business being on a dog grooming site!
I've always had big dogs! @@wayne611
You are the ‘Queen of Canines.’ Great job👍
Yes, quite a majestic dog.
Thats the test for people coming into the house 😂
I want to hug this dog so much. Hes huge!
Oh he'd love a hug😊
Yes for sure Pitbulls won’t let you do anything until you give them pets. This boy is just like so “whatever.”
He's a beautiful giant of a good, sweet, well-behaved boy. Kisses, hugs, and lots of pets for him!! 😘🤗🫳
Just realized I've been watching you for several weeks now and wasn't subscribed. I corrected that. I watch your videos with my youngest daughter and we both love them. We both love animals and learning about them and even I have learned about breeds that I've never even heard of by watching your videos. Thank you!
I was subscribed and when I checked because of your comment I found I had been de-subscribed! How irratating youtube does this
She has 2 channels. This is her second channel. You guys might have subscribed to her first channel and not this one.
I watch these with my young twins. We love her channel too! ❤
Just want to reiterate the earlier comment. She has 2 channels. The main channel (Girl with the Dogs) has shorter form content, but is also usually funnier.
You can tell his owners have put in some really good work raising this beautiful pooch 💖 Such a well behaved boy
Holy moly, he's beautiful! What a well behaved huge dog! Great job young lady!!!
He's a good gentle beast very beautiful him need a big boy treat
Even my cat was impressed. She watched the drying part with interest. Maybe she wants one now
@uliwehner I've had a harder time WASHING my cat!
What a well behaved behemoth this boy is. Outstanding job Vanessa, you are beyond talented! 🙂
I mean she would have noticed if the dog has webbed feet, right? (For context: Newfoundlands have webbed feet.)
Looks part St. Bernard to me, especially with all the drool.
I've worked with Newfies worse than this. He's a gem!
To have a groomer with this kind of demeanor is also the key.
I was thinking the same about having a calm demeanor like a Newf!
He reminded me so much of our Newf.
@@lauramolen9453 I had mine from 8 weeks till 17 years he was a gentle giant. My bosses sons used to ride on his back.
I can't think of anyone that didn't like him.
Lady, you are worth EVERY CENT of your pay!
You are the best!!! I love your gentle voice and the dogs sure love it too!
God bless you and your labour of love! ❤🙏
LOL she does this for free thanks to her subscribers
Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard and she seems about as warm as Antarctica. I wouldn't trust her to groom a sewer rat.
so... she's worth zero?
@@dovie2blue for voluntary donations to charity. Which is beautiful. Also giving opportunity to work on dogs that may not be easily accepted in a typical groomer salon.
What a gentle giant! That is one well mannered dog. I commend the owners for raising their dog well.
He's definitely not a fan of the water and dryer noise, but sure does seem to enjoy you massaging the soap in and the pressure from the dryer!
2.5 hours to groom and 1.5 hours to clean up after! 😆 You will be finding his hair 6 months from now!
He seems a very sweet and soulful dog that surely brings much love and enjoyment to his owners!
Thank you for advocating for this very good boy by asking groomers closer to his area to care for him.❤ I'm sure his humans really appreciate that.
Yeah, especially when you can send them the link of him being on best behaviour
He's so handsome, and quite a gentleman!! Perfect client, calm and sweet. You proved today, it's not the breed, but the temperment. So glad, you had an open mind and gave him the opportunity to be groomed. You did a wonderful job with him. 💙🚿 🐾
What a gorgeous dog and so well behaved. He's owners have done very well with him.
As a groomer myself pyrs are alot of work I like the three I groom
Everyone should be able to groom their own babies. Obviously things happen but it's YOUR CHILD.
@@stj971 Yes, sometimes things happen and sometimes people just like to care for our furkids AND support local groomer businesses. Doesn't matter if you do it yourself or take your furkid to a groomer - as long you are regularly caring for them. 💖
I just love how he’s essentially a corrupt official: should be guarding his territory but is easily bribable! 😂 What a sweet boy, and what an amazing job you’ve done. Easy to see why the owner drove 2 hours to meet you!
Senior soviet apparatchik, I imagine.
You are an angel for giving these dogs a chance!
