The first time they observed that roller lock could be transition to roller delay was with the Gerat 06H; and HK tried to replace the MP5 with the HK SMG and SMG II before developing the UMP.
Thanks for the feedback. I’m aware of the German prototypes during the war, but I felt that providing information on the weapons produced using that operation was more beneficial. Same with the SMG and SMG 2, I just felt that showing the evolution of the weapons H&K produced and that were used in service was best. I’m planning on making some content about forgotten weapons and prototypes so I’ll make sure to include the info you’ve given. Thanks again
3:42 Imaging having 4 years without offering a butt stocked version .. just kidding before the MP5A1 there were MP5, MP64 and HK9 with retractable butt stocks.
His content was a big influence on my videos but our videos serve different purposes. We both discuss firearm history, but his is more in the context of popular media, whereas mine is more in the context of military history.

Thanks for the extra info, I must’ve somehow missed it during my research, so thanks for spotting the mistake.
