  • Hi Everyone
    Welcome back to another video.
This week I was joined by Dave of Dave Ostle Mountain Man fame so go ahead and check out his channel, link below.
    ‪@daveostlemountainman‬
Another Friday and another nice day forecast so again I booked the day of work and head in to the Lake District. After meeting up with Dave at the small car park next to Lanthwaite Green Farm just to the north end of Crummock water we set off around 8am.
Straight from the off it's a steep pull up the ridge over Whin Ben and on to the summit of Whiteside. From here we followed the ridge over to Hopegill Head with amazing views down Gasgale Crags.
Leaving Hopegill Head we headed for Grisedale Pike taking in views this time of Hobcarton Crag. Leaving Grisedale Pike we took the traverse path around Sand Hill to Coledale Hause. Turning right at the junction in the path we head up to the summit of Grasmoor taking in the wonderful 360 views of the Lake District mountains.
Dropping off the very windy summit we branched off the main path to descend down Lad Hows and back to the road where we turned right for the short and beautiful stroll back to the car along the road.
If you are interested in doing this walk then below is the link to the route in OS maps and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to pop it in the comments

    All the best
    Dave

Has to be my favourite horseshow in the lakes and not been on any of them for a couple of years now, so looking forwards to getting these last few Wainwrights knocked off next year so I can get back to getting back on some of these great summits. Cheers Alan

Hi Alan, yeah it’s a belter and after the initial steep pull once up it’s pretty easy walking. There is some magnificent views to be had if you have the weather like I did.
All the best mate, hope you had a great weekend. 🥾⛰👍😃

    Hello Dave.
    I really enjoyed that mate.
Don't know if It’s because I've been up that way now myself.
I thought that was your best video so far👍
Loved the view Grasmoor End across Crummock Water.
    Really enjoyed it👌👏👏

      No worries.
      I was there 3 days.
Scafell Pike first, those two with Butchy and then Cat Bells.
      Loved it there.
I'll do the Scaffel Pike one first
I can't wait to go back.
I got a few in Wales first then the Shropshire Hills.👍

      Cheers Dave.
I really loved it up there.
I will come up every few months now.
      Shame it's 5 hour 45 minutes drive.
      Well worth it though.
I've never seen water like it before.

Great hike that Dave with some good pics. Looked steep getting up Whiteside.
We did Hopegill head from Braithwaite.
Funny as we both kept forgetting its name on the video 😂

It’s a steep pull up whiteside but before you know it you’re there and then the walk along to Hopegill head is a breeze.
I’d done Grisedale Pile too from Braithwaite, if I remember that’s a pretty steep affair too.
Thanks as ever for watching and your support it means a lot. 👍🥾⛰

Hi Dave, so many times I have passed those mountains and never hiked up any of them. There was about 100 yards at the end that we've walked on going to the bluebells at Rannerdale Knotts. Looked like your path down to the road was a bit sketchy in places but the views you got were brilliant. Very tough hike i'd say with all the ups and downs but you made it look easy. Regards, Ashley

    • @DAoutdoors
      @DAoutdoors  3 дні тому +1

@@ashleyjarnold Hi Ashley. I ticked off a couple of new ones. I’d done Grisedale Pike and Grassmoor before, but they were in the clag so nice to see the magical views from the summits. The path down Lad Hows is very sketchy at the top as it’s scree but once you get on to the grass it’s fine. We could see where the bluebells below Rannerdale Knotts would be. I’ll have to check that out next year.
To be honest once on the ridge at Whiteside it’s easy walking over to Grisedale Pike and back over to Grassmore.
All the best mate and thanks for watching. 😀⛰🥾👍

@@trekkingwithtony Thank you Tony. Yeah two news ones ticked off for me in Whiteside and Hopegill Head. I’d done Grasmoor and Grisedale Pike before but I saw nothing as I was in the clag so nice to get some views from there and they are amazing. I’ve also walked the path down the bottom of Gasgale Gill, if you ever get chance to do it I can recommend it, it’s a stunning path.

@@DAoutdoors Yeah, it just amazes me with some of these places where there is not a single tree there. I'm just used to having so many trees around me here.
