I find it kind of strange shipping other groups with almost no interaction to bts, but well, in general I don't think it is important anyway if they are in a relationship or not, after all it is their private life and their sexuality, relationships etc. That shouldn't limit us fans in our love for their music and personality. As fans you should support them and not judge them, you always have to consider what Jimin thinks for example when he sees a video about him and Jeongyeon and they really have nothing to do with each other or Jimin's relationship partner sees something like that, that would be for both not pleasant

yeah, I agree I don't understand why people deny the probability of Kpop celebrities being in a secret society. They are influential and deal with social issues and they sometimes have a lot of money. It's very possible they are in a secret society. *shrug* like it doesn't really down credit their work completely like lots of businessmen are in secret societies as well such as the Rotary society. Besides most of the time, nobody hides if they are in a secret society it's just what they do. @@alissaaisyah5946 hey its no problem. The best I can describe it is a religious group that has sinister beliefs or uses their religion to excuse their awful acts. A good example is the FLDS church, their "prophet" Warren Jeffs was convicted of sexually assaulting and abusing underage children. He used the excuse that it was gods will and even from prison he's brainwashing and controlling his followers. You'll have to look more into because it's really interesting, I think there's even a series here on youtube of these Girls that escaped around 15 years ago and are helping other people escape. @@reyco2.032 well I don't know your religious beliefs, but I will try to explain it the best I can. So Idol means something that you worship as though they are a God. It says it in the dictionary if you are interested in looking it up. In the Bible (I am Chrisitan) it says it in the ten commandments not to worship people or objects. Exodus 20:3
Then in 1st John 5:21 it says "Little children keep yourself from idols"
Then 1st Corinthians Chapter 10 speaks of Idols
verse 14: "Therefore, my beloved flee from Idolatry"
There are lots of instances in the Bible that talk about staying away from Idols. I just really don't like that they picked that title for themselves. Sorry if I didn't explain this well.

Once of the things that fascinates me is the rampant symbolism in many Kpop MVs. The industry in general is definitely trying to send a message, but I just don't think it's as nefarious as some people fear.

I still want to know out of all the kpop groups that are running around BTS manage to pull it off put K-pop in the map. I am only kpop fan for 5 years now.
They had a tough rise to fame, genuine brotherhood with each other, and participated in their own music and choreography. A lot of people tuned in because they were interested on how a group for a no name company, that was basically bankrupt, is still in existence and people stayed for the ride.

@@Krypton853 they aren't outright buying them, they are bringing them underneath. The artists are still in their company but their company is now a subsidiary. Outright buying would mean BHE would be fully in charge.
It's impressive how they went from in debt to a multi billion dollar company. They could have easily given up at any point.

I heard a rumor that apparently Bang PD payed too much money legally to promote BTS (or something like that I don’t remember) and someone brought it up to him. And he payed them off to keep quiet, I’m not sure though. I’m definitely not saying this is the case though just thought it was something to mention.
I believe the majority of those were proven to be rumors from people trying to bring the group down.

BTS was originally supposed to be 8th members group. And yeah the member existed and he was a trainee with all the 7 we see now but he wasn't chosen or failed to officially debut together with them. There's a video of him here on yt telling about his training journey with BTS, look it up.

I just love seeing people happy and seeing loving couples thrive, but it's sad to think that seeing a couple together/assuming a couple is together could ruin their careers :(

To be completely fair, there are definitely some characteristics of kpop fandoms (and fandoms in general, I guess) that are cult-like. I've been part of the ARMY for almost 6 years now and I noticed a lot of toxic behaviour which honestly made me distance myself from the fandom over the years. I wouldn't call ARMY a full-blown cult because actual cults are a lot more serious and ruin the real lives of people, it's just that ARMY portrays a lot of the same characteristics, just without some of the more serious consequences.
Things like the undying commitment to BTS (the ARMY for life mentality and sticking with them through scandals), doubt being discouraged (if you leave the fandom you weren't an ARMY to begin with), the us-vs-them mentality (ARMY vs basically every other fandom in existence and the western music market), the dictation of how you should think (no criticising BTS, loving all 7 of them equally, etc.), the ends justify the means (unhealthy streaming and voting culture and buying albums and merch to get BTS on the charts or get them certain awards), inducing feelings of guilt (BTS loves ARMY so much and work so hard for us so who are we to leave them or not devote our time to them?), being preoccupied with money (album sales, streams, etc.) and bringing in new members (spamming about BTS everywhere to get other people to listen to them), devoting inordinate amounts of time (being expected to watch all content and stream constantly), being encouraged to socialise only with other group members (if you're a multi you're not a true ARMY) and some people even feel that there is no life outside of BTS because they devote so much time to them.
Some of it might be harmless fun and at the end of the day the fandom has no physical power over you, but a lot of this behaviour simply isn't healthy. In fact, a lot of it is really toxic and I'm glad that I got off Twitter and started taking kpop less seriously.
