Awesome video! I'm the guy that made Peter% in the first place. I was just doing round 15 speedruns on stream before I started to grind peter% as a joke. First time was actually like 15 Seconds, getting peter to drop without noclip. I was in the process of making a peter% video but it seems like you covered just about everything. Fun fact: Peter can kill zombies and then, for a short time, the zombie's body can be interacted with just like peter.
Yooo! It's a very unique speedrun for sure. I spent a lot of time pushing peter to random places and seeing what happens. Farthest I got him was outside the map out of bounds. So weird lol. By far the funniest speed run I've seen. Never in my 16 years of my zombies tenure would I have ever imagined that there is such a speed run as a Peter%. Much more enjoyable to watch than EE speed runs for sure.

Normally I would say yeah but the rules don't state that. And it's similar to other runs from other games that allow setups to be performed outside of the level or save.
In my eyes it's like ng+ categories that start from any completed save, and for a similar reason for why Mario sunshine has tags for race file and hacked file to skip the airstrip tutorial.
Die rise all buildables guy here, glad to see someone else trying it out! (Never expected someone else to run it tbh) A lot of the tricks require 60 or over 200 fps to be consistent but you got it done. It was funny to see you struggling with the same die rise jank as me big props on the 2:14
RNG aside the run isnt that bad and has an interesting route, but id reccomend mob of the dead tho if you ever go back to bo2 runs, it has the coolest trick in the game imo where you can open any door for free if you have an afterlife. and thanks for including it in the video it makes the hours I spent on finding tricks and routing to save 5 seconds (sorry for the shitty jump and drop) seem a bit more worth it

Seeing the "Peter% Speed Run" multiple times, constantly hearing the round start music happen the moment the words "game over" appear on screen, plus you and the other guy constantly fighting over the world record has to be some of the absolute funniest shit I've seen in the last week and it's killing me😂

The m14 on bo1 has a jamrate, if you spam click faster than the allowed rate of fire, the gun will jam and not shoot. That is why some mouse clicks dont get registered. If u spam it fast enough, it can lock up your gun up to 1 second
In the Portal games there's a glitch called seam shot that allows you to fire portals through walls, it requires some absurd precision to hit though. The biggest way they found to make seam shot strategies consistent was to set the mouse sensitivity to an absurd value, so absurd that just one pixel of movement made you snap several degrees to the side. I wonder if that could be used to make door% faster.
One of the first speedruns I ever attempted was a portal run. I love the skips and glitches in that game. Half life runs are amazing too. But yeah I think increasing the sensitivity might help but it would definitely make it harder to hit haha.
The Shadows of Evil Round 15 with Round Skip speedrun has recently had most of its runs retimed and somehow now I'm the current world record holder LMAO So, 2 world records in this video as of today :b (EDIT: I lost them both AHHHHHHHHH)
The reason the body in the Peter% deals so much damage is because the body counts as a death barrier bug, someone at Treyarch messed up the collision. Btw great video! I felt like I was watching a video by a guy with 500k subs or something, I hope to see your channel grow
A little late, but the reason why it felt like your clicks weren't registering in black ops 1 is because of how semi-auto guns firerate are coded. The M14 in BO1 has a firerate of 625rpm. On console it's quite difficult for most to reach the max RPM with a trigger on a controller but on PC, it's extremely easy with a mouse. If you tap faster than 625rpm, you don't automatically fire at the fastest firerate but rather the gun will sort of 'jam' and you won't be able to shoot again until after a delay. This is why the gun can feel like it's not registering, especially since your clicks and what you see/hear aren't aligning. This applies to most cod games and that's why back in the day, people with modded controllers never set their RPM to 9999 but usually slightly under a gun's max RPM.
Yeah it was weird to find this out cause I never experienced it back on the Xbox 360 days. I really thought it was my mouse. (It is actually broken tbf)
Great video about the COD Zombies speedrunning scene! The All Songs category is one of my absolute favorites and it's a shame I'm the only one that has ran them. They are so unique and show off the cool tricks in all of the maps and the optimization could be mindblowing. Keep up the great vids :D

This reminds me of when I was younger. One of the first CODs I had played was WW2 (Not a good one, I know) and I loved the zombies mode purely because of the characters and their voice lines. Me and a buddy of mine did a Dirt% Speedrun where one person must be playing as Drostan and your goal is to get him to say his reviving voice line “You’re ok, rub some dirt in it!” The Speedrun starts on the first frame of either player fading in and the Speedrun ends on the first audible frame of him saying the voice line. I have yet to legitimately attempt this with actual speedrunning tools like a timer, but at the time we used my phone timer and my finger to stop it and we got 20 seconds and 5 miliseconds.

Often I wouldn't build the turbine fast enough and the zombies would all reach me so I got used to just knifing them all. But you're right. And you can also frame perfect pick up the turbine when it opens the door but I was really bad at it haha.

13:11 So I used to hang out in the Den Kirson forums where people dissected the code to pieces. Black Ops 1, in an attempt to prevent micros for semi autos, put a hard cap on pistols, the M14 etc of somewhere around 400-500 rounds per minute (forgot the exact number) and any shots faster than that gap between shots would be not registered. So yes spamming shots can cause some to not register
Great video man! I have a tip for the Die Rise tramplesteam part swapping in case you ever feel like trying to improve your time. I know you said it took a minute to get used to the distance but if you actually just run into that left corner of the ledge it'll completely stop you from falling off of and the parts will also drop down as well!

I loved attempting unusual records. We did a 2 player first room busdepot and got #9 with round 8. My Nuketown no jug round 18 attempt from 2015 is still in the leaderboards.

I don't know if I'm the only one that pays this much attention to this but that was an amazing intro sequence. You had me hooked from the start! Also, it has been a long while since I've watched zombies content but I think you sparked my interest in it once again.
I was the door guy. When I did the door speedrun I was drinking with my mates. About 8 or so drinks in I gave it a few goes while we all took turns switching in and out of Mario Kart. I thought the spread on the gun was just me being drunk, so nice to know it wasn't just me haha. Nice video
The Peter percent first successful clip you showed, you jumped multiple times because the body wasn’t in the correct swinging position when you initially jumped. Had you waited like .15 seconds for the body to reach the apex of its swing away from you, then jumped, you would’ve gotten it first jump and shaved off like a second.
Yeah I figured that out eventually. It actually has to swing into you and it was all in the timing. Thankfully it got way easier with the future setups haha

It's possible, albeit extremely difficult, to get Peter's body to fall down with a grenade. I remember doing this over and over on console back in the day because I was convinced it was some type of easter egg. Fun fact: you can also do it in co-op and it immediately ends the whole game for everybody. That's how I first found out about it, through a troll, lol

12:55 bo1 has an anti-spam clicking feature (or bug) in the game that semi auto weapons, mainly the m14 and the fn fal, have caps on how fast you’ll shoot and if you go over the cap, it will stop shooting for a few seconds
opening the door to the left instead of going upstairs on kino has fastest spawns from what i remember and box can spawn in that room too so that could speed it up greatly
i remember messing with peter one time with my brother and we both got down by him. instead of the game ending it just went though the rounds. i then told my dad about it one day while he was playing with 3 of his friends. he did it and it restarted the game for them. i still feel bad about it to this day.
I've been doing it for 10+ years. So that helps a lot haha. Really just keep doing it and trying new things. Editing is often the funnest part of the whole process for me. So if you get distracted often you gotta maybe find a way to make it fun or do some sort of dopamine detox. When I do get bored tho, I tend to take a break and let my mind work on other things until I feel refreshed enough to get back to the video.
I feel like a traps% run could be good on the early zombies games, where you have to down yourself multiple times, using up all your quick revives, with different traps on the map
Yes they're really interesting as well. I orginally had a Town Round 5 speedrun section in this video but I had to scrap it for time reasons. But I attempted some runs for it. You have to get so lucky with the drops haha.

Black Ops 1, in an attempt to prevent micros for semi autos, put a hard cap on pistols, the M14 etc of somewhere around 400-500 rounds per minute (forgot the exact number) and any shots faster than that gap between shots would be not registered.
So yes spamming shots can cause some to not register

Great video man! I have a tip for the Die Rise tramplesteam part swapping in case you ever feel like trying to improve your time. I know you said it took a minute to get used to the distance but if you actually just run into that left corner of the ledge it'll completely stop you from falling off of and the parts will also drop down as well!

I was the door guy. When I did the door speedrun I was drinking with my mates. About 8 or so drinks in I gave it a few goes while we all took turns switching in and out of Mario Kart. I thought the spread on the gun was just me being drunk, so nice to know it wasn't just me haha. Nice video

The Peter percent first successful clip you showed, you jumped multiple times because the body wasn’t in the correct swinging position when you initially jumped. Had you waited like .15 seconds for the body to reach the apex of its swing away from you, then jumped, you would’ve gotten it first jump and shaved off like a second.
Yeah I figured that out eventually. It actually has to swing into you and it was all in the timing. Thankfully it got way easier with the future setups haha

It's possible, albeit extremely difficult, to get Peter's body to fall down with a grenade. I remember doing this over and over on console back in the day because I was convinced it was some type of easter egg.
Fun fact: you can also do it in co-op and it immediately ends the whole game for everybody. That's how I first found out about it, through a troll, lol

12:55 bo1 has an anti-spam clicking feature (or bug) in the game that semi auto weapons, mainly the m14 and the fn fal, have caps on how fast you’ll shoot and if you go over the cap, it will stop shooting for a few seconds

opening the door to the left instead of going upstairs on kino has fastest spawns from what i remember and box can spawn in that room too so that could speed it up greatly

i remember messing with peter one time with my brother and we both got down by him. instead of the game ending it just went though the rounds. i then told my dad about it one day while he was playing with 3 of his friends. he did it and it restarted the game for them. i still feel bad about it to this day.
The same glitch actually happened to me randomly sometimes while doing the setup. Now for that I have no idea why that would happen haha.

How do you edit your videos so well and without getting bored I’ve tried to make a video a couple times but my brain always trails off
I've been doing it for 10+ years. So that helps a lot haha. Really just keep doing it and trying new things. Editing is often the funnest part of the whole process for me. So if you get distracted often you gotta maybe find a way to make it fun or do some sort of dopamine detox.
When I do get bored tho, I tend to take a break and let my mind work on other things until I feel refreshed enough to get back to the video.

Yes they're really interesting as well. I orginally had a Town Round 5 speedrun section in this video but I had to scrap it for time reasons. But I attempted some runs for it. You have to get so lucky with the drops haha.

I used to do them for black ops 3 and one of my friends does them as well and he uses strats that I wouldn’t have even thought of as a normal zombies player like certain nade lineups and gobblegum loadouts and timings for faster rounds lol
