This sauce must taste excellent! For Easter dinner I made an apple sauce following a recipe more than 110 years old and consistency of it was actually quite thick, so I guess they really made them thicker than we do today.
I reckon they must have, especially if you had the same situation with your apple sauce. I really don’t know how they could’ve strained it the way it was before we added more liquid - either they made a mistake in writing it down or they had wrists of iron and an unbreakable sieve! 💕 Miss. HD

@@handeddownkitchen8192 Haha yes, it was really hard to pass through sieve that apple puree... I guess they had servants for such tasks haha!
