Thank you! It was so tasty 😋 honestly much nicer than we were expecting. I’d like to know how expensive it would be to order this in a fancy restaurant, haha 🧐

It really was ❤️. We weren’t sure about how this one was going to go, whether the two sauces would go well together... you never know with some of these old recipes do you because tastes change over time (like the everything-in-aspic sensation). But everything here complimented each other SO beautifully we were surprised! Perhaps we shouldn’t have been given the original purpose of the cookbook, but still, we were impressed 🤩

Looks delicious! This is right up the man's street so I will be making this for him. I never brushed steak with beef glaze before so I am interested in trying that out. Will let you know how it turns out but I can promise you right now that my plating will NEVER be as pretty as yours! Oh and I will be having spinach AND mash! Haha! (although just mash for the man!) xx

Oh his mouth will be watering if you make it, trust me! After filming this and the two sauces in one day we were completely zombified by the time it came to eating and it was heavenly. Tell you what, the beef glaze might not be necessary but it definitely adds pizzaz! To save a little time you can also make the Espagnole sauce in advance and freeze it for when you want it. We only used a little of ours for this so the rest went straight in the freezer.
Bet the mash would go just as well as the spinach. You’ll have to give us your verdict on which goes best, we made our decision solely on what would take less effort to prepare because we liked the idea of both as much as each other!

@@handeddownkitchen8192 I like things that I can make ahead and then freeze so thanks for the tip on the sauce. We haven't bought steak in a while but when we do, I will absolutely be trying this out. And I can more than imagine that like you, we'll both be totally zombified! :) xx
