    When my wife was ill she spent a lot of time at Lancaster Hospital, it was a nightmare trying to find a parking spot. In the end I started parking right outside the main door, right there @10:38 Lancaster at rush hour is a Royal pain in the rear end. Clementine did a good job in finding her way through that traffic. Proving that 2 wheels are better than four. Keep up the good work mate. :) Thanks for the ride out.

      Sadly, both Ann and I are frequent visitors to Lancaster RI, and Westmorland. I have to say, when I was admitted with severe food poisoning in 2018, the care given to me was outstanding. When we came up from Wales for Ann’s Echocardiogram, I just dropped her off by outpatients, then did battle, eventually finding such a tiny space, I couldn’t get out of the van 😂. Can’t wait for the building works to be completed, I think works van’s should have to park elsewhere on site. Agree about traffic being a pain in the bum, this ride was actually a lot quieter than usual, still best on two wheels. Cheers

      Thank you. Not our usual run, something a bit different. Variety being the spice of life, and all that 😂

    Love how you say this hasn’t been much of a video, and yet you show the bike on motorways and inner city/inner town riding…pretty much all types of roads I intend to ride on. I’ve often wondered how bikes like these are to filter on, and there doesn’t seem to be many videos online of these type of riding. So thanks for recording this, really helps a soon to be new rider out immensely. (Plan to start on a VanVan 125, and in time a Classic 350 but will see how it all goes)

      Thank you. I mainly ride on scenic countryside routes, and seriously dislike being stuck in lots of traffic (oh, and people 🫣😂), hence why I didn’t rate this video. So pleased that it has been helpful to you though, and that it filled a gap. Good luck getting on the road, the VanVan is and ideal bike to get started, and will prepare you nicely for Classic 350 ownership. All the best, take care.

    A splendid rainbow. I enjoyed that ride with the Lancaster bomber; something different. Lancaster traffic seems pretty civilised and not gridlocked during the daytime, unlike here.....

      @ianhughesroyalenfield  Рік тому +1

      Oh, it has it’s moments, I just caught it right.. This is the quietest I have seen it to be honest, can be a pain in the bum, hence choosing to go on Clementine. The rainbow made putting up with the rain, bearable. Cheers GBD.

      Funnily enough RR was having that problem. I tried headphones on my iPad, and with a bit of wiggling of the jack, I had it in both ears. Can’t explain it. I will have another look at my recording settings though. Cheers

      I have just had a look on Devinci Resolve 18 tutorials. It seems that if something is recorded in mono, then we have to convert it. I didn’t know that……I will sort it on future vids. Thanks for pointing it out. 👍

    Well done Ian, perfect town riding, progress was certainly made.
    Now, if I was riding I would have hit every light on red. Barstewards wait for me coming then change to red, happens to often to be coincidence.
    It’s said that the Himalayan and J series 350’s are too slow on motorways. Like you Ann and I cruised our Himmy on the M6 at 60mph and found it perfectly fine.
    Our hospital is in its own grounds so car parking charges are high. I always go on the bike coz I park next to the bike sheds, free of course, thievin sods.
    Enjoyed the vid, as usual you kept us entertained. You did say you don’t talk much when your concentrating, does that mean your not concentrating when your talking? 🤪🏍👍🍻.
    Best to Ann and mind how you go.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  Рік тому

      Concentrating; you could have a point there, but did you notice, even after saying that, I jabbered on continuously 😂. Tbh, me and red lights usually have the same relationship as you 🙄. The parking charges at the hospital, are actually quite fair (if you can get a space), we have never paid more than £3 and that was for a long stint in A+E. Usually it is under £2. As we know, motorways are boring, and just a means to an end. I just want to get off them as soon as possible, but I agree that just sitting there at a steady 60mph is fine. Thanks Neil

    • @mrgrizzlyrides
      @mrgrizzlyrides Рік тому

      @@ianhughesroyalenfield Yeah, I noticed, good on ya my friend.
      I dont know what the current car park charge is at hospital but it’s defo higher than the tariffs you mention. I dont believe hospitals should have the right to charge for parking on private land; I consider it morally reprehensible that the sick and dying and their visitors are charged; especially when one considers how poorly managed a lot of hospitals are. 9 hrs wait in AE at James Cook, a friend had actually been admitted as a day patient and the procedure was cancelled, twice this has happened. Of course people will know of many, many more examples of inadequate NHS management. All the money squandered by incompetent NHS managers and they charge the sick to park, it’s a bad show, it really is. It is what it is though but.
      Did you hear that England is legally bound by the E U withdrawal agreement to implement net zero as part of alignment with the vile regime. Sunak the unelected usurper or any future prime minister cannot deviate from net zero, no matter how damaging it is to the electorate. Enjoy riding whilst we continue to be permitted.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  Рік тому

      @@mrgrizzlyrides I know that the hospital close to where I originate, is a flat £4 for anything after 20mins. Bare in mind, as it is so cramped and poorly laid out, you could get to your car well within the free 20 mins, only to find that you go over it trying to exit. I have lost count of the amount of times I pressed the “Help” button when the barrier didn’t go up. As for enjoying ourselves while we can, unless someone buy’s me an overpriced electric bike, I would probably go down the route of getting a new bike, just before the cut off, then ride it until it (or I 😂) falls apart. Cheers

    My Oxford jeans 👖 would get wet on the outside & be dry on inside & handle about 20mins real heavy rain 🌧️ before starting to soak through.
    After 20mins heavy rain only the front of jeans be wet as to just soaking through & I mean torrential rain.
    Average rain jeans wet on outside on front & still dry on inside after 30-35mins.If I planning a longer ride & think 🤔 it'll be wet I'll take leggings.I often get rain where I live & be fine 5-10km down the road so often riding in the wet when leaving home & returning home due to being at Altitude & close to the Rangers.

    Just Google highway code. Speed limits. I was nearly caught out a few years ago on a road which I though was 60. Through fields with the odd house. But someone told me they are always speed trapping. Was lucky as I used to do 60. Sure enough there are street lights all along. Now I know.
