- I've been toying with the idea of going electric for our string trimmer. The old 18V Ryobi unit I bought years ago is nice, but honestly it just can't keep up with a lawn as large as ours.
This? This can! I am very impressed!

I bought the Bauer one from harbor freight and for quick stuff around my yard it’s really nice. Now for my banks and big jobs I’ll always be a STIHL fan… but I love how quick and easy the battery one is!
We use the gas power for really big jobs, this one is good for the smaller ones or touch ups
Great review I'm sold thanks erik
Any time!
My battery powered mower is doing great after over two years but I recharge the batteries when half the charge is used up and maintain them. Lithium ion batteries can be damaged from improper use and abuse. Never drain them completely, keep a frozen gel pack wrapped in a small thin towel on them when in use in summer, and store them at half charge inside and only recharge right before use. I have solar so my mower, tiller and weedeater are electric. I can run the weedeater from portable power stations.
Interesting tip on the ice pack- I don't think it gets hot enough in he summer for us to worry about that-- 80 degrees is hot here
@@FarpointFarms I use it in Louisiana. I mow at night if there`s no dew.
@@baneverything5580I prefer to mow at 2am. Kohler 7000 series twin cyl 😂
looks really good. That 20V battery probably fit their outher 20V tools. I got the DeWalt 60V one. line trimmer only. way more power than gas ones. The only thing I miss is the 2 Cy ones chase the bugs away. The bugs bad hear in NY . Ryobi makes a 40V HP one with attachments as well. I have been getting some repairs on 2 Cy ones and turns out a common problem is Ethanol gas over 10% . I tested some with a test kit from auto parts store. some stations have 12 % Ethanol. which is bad for 2 Cy mix. in NY out gas prices shot up like 50 Cents in 1 day. people buying the cheapest gas for their lawn care stuff. Electric takes all that away . some places banned gas lawn mowers . the only trouble I see on the repair side of battery electric is the odd brands needing battery. they all different. but the big brands like DeWalt ,Ryobi ,Milwaukee have adapters to swap battery to different brained . like a DeWalt 20V MAX battery on Ryobi 18V ONE plus tools. what I do . Amazon has adapters .
I think you are right- back in the day greenworks and ryobi were interchangeable- That was until they figured that out and changed a few things.
Looks like a good option for people who do not own those tools yet. Too bad it doesn't take Dewalt batteries. Also I would have liked to see how that brush cutter performed.
That project is for another weekend, this one is full with other chores- lol
I would like that its not hard to start after sitting all winter like a 2 stroke.
2 stroke needs fuel stabilizer to make sure it does not do that- These are plug and play- pop the battery in and go
If it's hard to start in the spring, you're not putting it away right in the fall.
next time I purchase a tool...it will be electric....easier to maintain....no mess...quiet
I agree with you-
Some of them absolutely devour batteries though. My Milwaukee blower..I rotate between 3 5.0 batteries as I use it, I still probably only get about 15-20 minutes run time total.
