    You don't need to buy this kit guys just go to the yunk yard find a 94 or 95 V6 or V8 and get all the parts from one of these models and you can make your fox body disc brakes. And if you want better calipers you can get the PBR calipers from the newer models they work with this conversation. The propolsioning valve and lines for the master cylinder and one adapter for one of the brake lines you can buy those parts from maximum motor sports that's what I did on my 89 mustang coupe. And you gonna save much more money. Same thing with the brake cables you can buy them from maximum motor sport. Just an advise at the end you take the final decision

    left out a very important piece if information. According to the masters over at Maximum Motorsports: Do not install a 1996-04 spindle on a 1979-93 Mustang fitted with a stock-geometry k-member! Doing so will significantly increase bumpsteer because...
    1. The steering arm on the 1996-04 spindle is about 1.02" (26mm) lower (relative to the rest of the spindle) than the steering arm of any 1979-95 spindle.
    2. The lower steering arm forces the outer tie-rod end to a lower position.
    That new position is far too low for the steering rack location of any 1979-93 Mustang, and radically changes the steering geometry.
    3. It is impossible to correct the geometry with a bumpsteer kit because the outer tie-rod end needs to be raised so much that it would have to occupy the same physical space as the steering arm.

  • @steamy1225
    @steamy1225 2 роки тому

    First you bleed the master cylinder before installing it on the car, otherwise you never get all the air out. Great video otherwise. I converted mine (88) with Lincoln Mark & front slotted rotors from ebay and rear brakes from 94 and newer Mustang also from ebay back in 2006. Calipers, axles. mounting brackets and splash shields. all fit right in. I did replace parking brake cables with new but didn't modify the spring on the handle and work just as it did before. Replaced master with 94 Cobra master and the prop valve with the manually adjustable one. The only problem noted just a few years ago is that the front rotors are rubbing the caliper on the inside leaving 2 groves in there. Original calipers. 17" x8" wheels . no rubbing problems front or rear. Original springs.

      @@FarmDad Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, we had to stop selling the spindles a few months ago (at the time of this comment) because of a shortage of cores from our supplier. We're actively pursuing a solution. The entire kit is now broken down into individual pieces instead of it being an all-inclusive kit. Over the years, we had a few customers want to purchase different rotors or an OEM hub assembly. Because of that, it's now a la carte. All of the pieces shown in the video are still available today with the exception of the spindles. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! -Landan

      @latemodelrestoration  Рік тому

      Yes, this kit will work for a 1986 5.0L car. You'll find that the kit includes a '93 Cobra master cylinder, so it won't mimic the cast iron unit that came equipped on 79-86 Fox Mustangs. Some customers prefer the SVO master cylinder since it's "period correct". You will need additional master cylinder adapter lines since the kit above includes the lines for 87-93 cars. Because of the design of the 79-86 parking brake assembly requires no modification, unlike the 87-93 assembly.
      Here is the link for the 80-86 adapter lines for a '93 Cobra master cylinder: lmr.com/item/MM-MMBAK17/Mustang-Brake-Line-Adapter-94-95-GT-93-Cobra-Master-Cylinder
