Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
I played a Tal Rasha wiz in S27 and it is super powerful already, and the theme of S27 didnt really do the build any favors. I didnt get much time to play this season but got up to about P825 or so and was able to fairly easily do a GR 127 with crappy gear only 2 125 augments. So in S28 it will be mega powerful!
Say no more Wizard is the way to go. As a player with 12k paragon i do not care about speed anymore i just wanna chill this last season out before D4 release :)
Put 40-50 hrs into a AoV-FoH Crusader, and was struggling with GR105 (with mostly ancients, Caldesan buffs adding 3k+ strength, etc). Great job communicating the differences on the various Tal's builds. Never m=played a lot of wizard builds preferring other classes, but will do that this season having been a casual player for a few years now.
Thanks, buddy as a casual gamer (only get an hour and a half at most to play a night) your guide really helps me make the most of the meager amount of time to play.
@sschaeppi90 WELL?!!? Did you end up being successful at achieving your goal from 3-ish months ago and FINALLY clearing your very VERY FIRST GR150 on Wiz with the Tal Rasha build?
This build looks awesome to play considered i don't have much time to play due to family responsabilities. Can't wait to try this weekend, Awesome vid Rax!
I just started building this build earlier today and got pretty lucky gambling for the pieces. Got the boots without even knowing I wouldn't be using the set ones. I got the off hand orb and a second pants. Both were converted in the cube and I got the 2 pieces I needed. Then I crafted three staves to upgrade in the cube. Got both the smoldering core and the grand vizier from those 3. Now all I need are the mempo and the halo ring.
Amazing build guide! I played this build all last season and I plan on doing it again until I have bazooka set up. I highly recommend swapping out Astral presence for unwavering will. Even though you are very mobile the damage are when standing still is nice and the resist has a synergy with the set bonus a bit more than it normally would with another build. On a separate note, because we get ice climbers and illusory boots automatically, I can imagine the real try hards will be running without teleport for solo push and instead taking black hole on the arcane version and slowly phase through enemies.
If using black hole, spell steal seems like a good alternative. Spell steal counts as arcane which frees up teleport for whatever rune you want to use. You're getting 66% more dmg but have to trade 50% buff duration. Just a thought.
I did gr138 solo with 1300ish gons and you told me that was impressive for my TR wiz last season. I felt complete and was going to try something different this season. Was hoping my beloved Saders would be viable. But seeing the potential in TR again it may be too hard not for another shot at it with TR. Love meteor.
It basically gets rid of all the downsides through the altar - crowd control immunity, passability *and* arcane power on crit. I was considering to start with the GoD DH and transitioning to the wiz, but I think I might as well start with the latter outright.
@@BrotherBearBarras Absolutely right, Sanctified FoH made Crusader as good as other classes without a sanctified power, and now it's gone and we're left with nothing :(
Two Rasha is a strong build but I get one shot literally by anything. I cleared a GR 124 at paragon 940 but it was so brutal dying literally so easily.
Well I'm starting Wizard and probably going to play it the entire season. So it's good to know I picked wisely and that once I've changed from Hydra to Meteor I'll be blasting.
Very little new info here. Standard Tal Rasha stuff. If I didnt already play D3 for years and know it inside out, I just want to say that your guides are detailed, to the point, and no nonsense. Great for anyone who needs build guides.
I’ve been playing this build but find that for me, a few modifications helped. I dropped teleport to have disintegrate- Arcane. Mainly because of the Alters passability I can walk out of trouble. I dropped elemental exposure and Astral Presence for Audacity and Blur so as to have constant and unconditional bonuses. Familiar, spark-flint, Meteor-Comet, Storm Armor-Power of the Storm, Magic Weapon-deflection and Black Hole-Spell Steal round out my skills. To this I’m adding Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Powerful and Bane of the Stricken. I have a cube-made Primal Smoldering Core, full Ancients, about half are augmented. And I just cleared GR 132 with time to spare at Paragon 1250 or so. This build is a bit squishy but not so bad I can’t stand and fight. And with the Bane’s socketed I can melt bosses at GR130+ with mild effort.
For the T16 variant, using the lightning rune (that makes meteor falls without delay) seems better as you will still one shot everything. Wudijo has a setup like this in his tal rasha d3planner, during S27 I personnaly used frost nova + explosive blast for the cold/fire procs , so that I can use familiar/arcanot for infinite mana. Of course lots of variants are possible for a T16 build, but the comet rune is too slow for T16 in my opinion
Part of the reason I assume you wouldn't take the lightning rune is because smoldering core makes lesser mobs walk into the meteor drop circles, so removing that delay means they have less time to move into a pack
This is stupid strong. I spent the weekend building up my WW and Frenzy builds and I was struggling to finish GR 100. I slapped this together in less than 2 hours and I'm already beating 115. Frost hydra for cold, (stays longer, cost less) Arcane familiar, regen. Burn electrify, prefer distance over "melee" distance Electric meteor so the land faster, easier to set up. Running guardians for the double life pool, so tal amulet, and boots, and skeleton king shoulders (nothing else of interest) Still need to find "the grand vizier" Teleport and storm shield are pure utility
Sweet set...but sad to see s27 alsow had a really nice meteor , would have loved a rework of the WD...it has been needing some love for so long!..great review...thanks for sharing raxx and keep it up!
As a returning player for the last season before Diablo 6 you made my choice easy. Overpower build with minimal buttons to press for console easy pick Ty
This video help me soooooo much! I was dying like crazy and couldnt figure out why :) Yeap you guessed it. Wrong Teleport Rune. I love this build. I dont get to play as much as I would like too but now I am ripping through the GR's. Thanks a bunch my guy :)
great vid Raxx! remember you can remove astral presence and go with dominance, its also possible to skip stricken and go for bane of the powerful + conduit on FORCE WEAPON is nice af.
I'm really considering starting with the wizard... For T16 farming I would choose either Explosive Blast or Hydra. (Probably I will keep Hydra for T16)
Thank you! I was waiting for it :D With your recent GoD video I have everything I need to blast this season! ((Since I don't understand wudijo when he speaks. I've tried to watch his video, linked on the Maxroll GoD guide. It's a 2 years old video too.))
This is my kind of build🤣 Diablo 3 is definitely one of my unwinding games so thus braindead gameplay is so appealing. I'm starting DH and definitely building this later into the season. Rax, amazing video as always. I don't think I'll play much D4 but I can't wait for your content covering it!
I usually go Barb, but was considering DH for a change. Now I am leaning towards this and just playing something I rarely play. It looks casual friendly and also puts on quite a light show.
Build is crazy. And aether Walker or whatever its called is not just a t16 setup. Did 115 in under 2 min. With less the 1k Paragon and not a single anoint.

First, thank you for the guide. I was using the Star Pact and just got stuck at GR135. I'd swapped over to Comet after watching this and I'm about to hit 140. This just seems better to play on console. Unfortunately, console seriously lacks the ability to aim for groups like PC does since the targeting isn't area but a creature. It makes kiting even more important and, at the same time, harder to do.
Nice vid thanks for all the content, do you have an up to date video on how to kit out the follower? I haven’t played since they introduced nem bracers etc working on follower.
I accidentally came with this build on my first run after I got the game for my switch on Christmas. It’s actually pretty good for casual player as me and now I know how to optimize it thanks to this guide!
I was so afraid they would nerf it on the finish line, but they didn't. Sounds just like my thing. Time to get out my wiz, didn't play her in a while! 😀
Absolutely loved Tal-Meteor in s27 and s28 gonna get carried over, ohhh can 't wait dude. Love to just chill, tp, blast with some comets. its so awesome.
DH is king this season. I've only been playing for a week and I'm doing 110s in under 3 minutes with GoD / Hungering Arrow. I made a Meteor Wizard after maxing out the altar on DH and the Wiz just feels slow and clunky. It's powerful, definitely, but insanely squishy in higher GRs. Not nearly as fun as the GoD DH in my view.
I mained Trag Necro for this season (as usual for me lately), but after seeing the ladders, I thought ... hey, why not try Meteor Sorc for the lols... well I literally went ROFL xD Having never played the spec, with just 1.4k Paragon, and still with my 1st set of gear on so no Caldesanns and nothing really overly good (except for the Legendary gems, which I have at lvl 135-139 from my Necro), I already facerolled GR120 on first try despite a couple of clumsy deaths here and there... Not to mention getting your screen full of Meteors is hilarious xD
It's not that i don't want to see your guides @Raxxanterax but every video u make i want to do that exact build..So before launch this is the final video im watching :D (this is my league start) TY for explaining so well
The 2 piece bonus "wording" is kind of strange. it says "immunity", yet I think I still take damage from those 4 elements. Immunity would mean no damage/god mode.. But that's not the case. I think what they meant was "take less damage from those elements". 🤔
to start if you put tal amulet you can remove the belt to fit guardians in the t16 set, belt and head, since 4 items are crafted it will be easy to start
my highest completed on wizard was like 90 before this. I just slapped together a build with like 1100 paragon, 8400 int and breezed through a 110 lol. Granted I don't really play wizard at all but this one is lookin like a cruiser for sure.
i remember playing the spectral blade one back in the early seasons, like 1-5, but i had explosive blast aswell as orb of infinite depth, i dont remember why or if that was even good lol, this build is a classic though! super fun
Haven't played D3 in awhile. But looks like Tal Rasha Wiz might bring me back. I usually play 2 characters per season so I might start with a GoD DH first though since its the easiest to speed. But Wiz will definitely be the push build I'll try for.
Familiar instead of disintegrate helped a lot (less button pushing). since Meteor damage is based on weapon damage, I swapped the emerald for a ruby in my staff and shaved off almost 2 min.
Here's the guide on Maxroll! maxroll.gg/d3/guides/tal-rasha-meteor-wizard-guide

Running guardians for the double life pool, so tal amulet, and boots, and skeleton king shoulders (nothing else of interest)
Still need to find "the grand vizier"
Teleport and storm shield are pure utility
Sweet set...but sad to see s27 alsow had a really nice meteor , would have loved a rework of the WD...it has been needing some love for so long!..great review...thanks for sharing raxx and keep it up!
I've always loved this build. It was awesome in s27 also
As a returning player for the last season before Diablo 6 you made my choice easy. Overpower build with minimal buttons to press for console easy pick Ty
'This is the way!'
Great guide Raxx! Very good and clear explanation! You should be teacher! 😉
I'm starting Wizard in S28.
Have fun!
this will be my starting class this season
had too much DH from last season
Spent ages farming my DH and peaked at 130. After about 5 hours Tal Rasha I clear 135 with ease! Love it so much fun
Man I can't get past 128 😭 dying ain't the issue thanks to karini, my damage does absolute fuck all 😂
This video help me soooooo much! I was dying like crazy and couldnt figure out why :) Yeap you guessed it. Wrong Teleport Rune. I love this build. I dont get to play as much as I would like too but now I am ripping through the GR's. Thanks a bunch my guy :)
2w in this season n I just cleared a 145. 1st time ever. Thx u raxx for all the guides
great vid Raxx! remember you can remove astral presence and go with dominance, its also possible to skip stricken and go for bane of the powerful + conduit on FORCE WEAPON is nice af.
I'm really considering starting with the wizard... For T16 farming I would choose either Explosive Blast or Hydra. (Probably I will keep Hydra for T16)
Thank you! I was waiting for it :D
With your recent GoD video I have everything I need to blast this season!
I'm usually in PoE over diablo until Diablo IV, but you sold me on this season in the first 40 seconds.
I was going to play DH, but I always do. This video is why I'll be playing Wizard next season. 👍
I usually go Barb, but was considering DH for a change. Now I am leaning towards this and just playing something I rarely play. It looks casual friendly and also puts on quite a light show.
This looks comfy af!
I'll try this out and relax after work.
I so hope you get a bigger audience (subs) when D4 comes out, you deserve more views brother!
We'll keep blasting! Appreciate that buddy!
As recently doing a 143 GR on non seasons, Ill be rocking the wizard for solo and DH as support. RAX brining the heat!!!
Ty for an awsome video.
Are u planing to make a video for the node order in the altar?
I been tired of always going DH or Monk it was between wizard and Necro and I think this video just made up my mind.
Yes, i was waiting for this One, thank you, i planned to start DH and build a Wizard for pushing, maybe i will start with Wizard... Can't wait
You are the absolute best! Thanks for all you do!
Build is crazy. And aether Walker or whatever its called is not just a t16 setup. Did 115 in under 2 min. With less the 1k Paragon and not a single anoint.
Thank you very much, we need this kind content here, popular builts for next season. I hope you can do a guide for Necro one with death nova Trag'Oul and Rathma RGK
Nice picture, I live and work at CLNP!
@@nickcampbell4148 hehehe i just picked a very beauty landscape from internet, but now I know its about crater lake national park!! Ty for info, I hope someday visit Oregon
Great vid. Nice explanation of the variations
I like the lightning comet version for speeding stuff
This is what I’m starting for season 28!
Love to just chill, tp, blast with some comets. its so awesome.
feel like i’ve hit a bit of a glass ceiling with my GOD demon hunter this week, excited to transition over to this. :)
Thanks for the video, making me question my decision to start DH
Glad I could help ;)
I always spin to win DH but this build looks tempting - I will try this build if I can't finish 110 rift my DH. I am not pushers like you guys.
Hey Raxx, first of all thank you for this beautiful guide. Can you explain me why I'm running out of Arcane Power? I've the same build as yours.
Time to open another character slot by deleting thanks for the guide Raxx!
I watched your videos, and you are a practical Mathematician.
I mained Trag Necro for this season (as usual for me lately), but after seeing the ladders, I thought ... hey, why not try Meteor Sorc for the lols... well I literally went ROFL xD
Having never played the spec, with just 1.4k Paragon, and still with my 1st set of gear on so no Caldesanns and nothing really overly good (except for the Legendary gems, which I have at lvl 135-139 from my Necro), I already facerolled GR120 on first try despite a couple of clumsy deaths here and there... Not to mention getting your screen full of Meteors is hilarious xD
Good luck video, just dropped cosmic wings!
Grats
Thanks! This Solo build rocks. I just need to figure out the HC version.
It's not that i don't want to see your guides @Raxxanterax but every video u make i want to do that exact build..So before launch this is the final video im watching :D (this is my league start) TY for explaining so well
Love you dude.. Just wanted to ask, does it do more than 17 damage?
The 2 piece bonus "wording" is kind of strange. it says "immunity", yet I think I still take damage from those 4 elements. Immunity would mean no damage/god mode.. But that's not the case. I think what they meant was "take less damage from those elements". 🤔
can i ask a question? this build or necro death nova trag will be better overall? or both will be the same?
Love the content man, Im new to Diablo and your vids awesome. Super informative
@Raxx how good is TR speed build compared to the Hydra set up?
to start if you put tal amulet you can remove the belt to fit guardians in the t16 set, belt and head, since 4 items are crafted it will be easy to start
This build got me so excited im redownloading D3 now lol
I want to play Wiz but do you think it'd be easier to just start DH GoD then transition to Tal Rasha or just go Wiz Hydra at the start.
my highest completed on wizard was like 90 before this.
I wonder what changed with attack speed, the maxroll guide has it listed for stats on speed farming and GR pushing.
Familiar instead of disintegrate helped a lot (less button pushing). since Meteor damage is based on weapon damage, I swapped the emerald for a ruby in my staff and shaved off almost 2 min.
Well, you sold me on Wizard this season. I was interested in testing the new Natalya, but better guarantee with Wizard instead
I played this on the PTR. It's also pretty fun to play.
Already rocking two ancient tal Rasha pieces (one dropped, one was a reforge).
Insane work as always Raxx
