Fond memories of Coatbrigg , I was the only wee Chinese boy at the time round about 1969 . Went to St Pats primary (old one) then St Ambrose High . Was only one Chinese restaurant at that time called the Sun Chinese above the big clock on the main st. Vivid memories of all the places I played and friends I had . I wonder how everyone is now .
Tore down all of Bank Street and half of the town centre and replaced with what? A shadow of a town. OK it was never pretty but there used to be loads of wee shops (remember City Bakeries?), picture hooses and pubs. A shame. I had a wonderful childhood.
ha ha the coos running around the millbrae! beautiful to see what my da and papa lived in compared to the Coatbride I know! I do miss it! Thanks for the upload Ian..
o my how i enjoyed looking back at my home town so thank you was born and brought up in coatbridge my heart is always there i now live in balloch 5 min from loch lomond
The planners tore old Coatbridge down and replaced a mess. They did the same in Airdrie, you didn't need to go outside Airdrie or Coatbridge for anything, now it's a ghost town.
My Grandmother lived at 18 c church street ,now Muriel hall street Went to church next door at Hebron hall and school at Gart sherie academy in 1957 Went back again in1981 Memories

Wondering where the colour pic just before it ends was taken? If anybody could let us know, that'd be great.
