Well I for one really look forward to & enjoy Brants Vlogs & Videos of his Bike Builds and upgrades how to do's and Bike checks or whatever etc... Good on him! He deserves it! Great vid. Sorry I didn’t explain the brake mount design better. But it’s definitely to me an extra bit of detail that shows the quality of the s&m frames I really appreciate! I friggin love my btm.
Hey Brant, how are you diggin your new bikes and being a part of the S&M/F-IT Family?? Hope everything's been going great, man! Super stoked for you! 🤙😝🤙
@@Brant_Moore yeah with time stamp! here is my time stamp: @31:50 , you mentioned the cable housing having a "kink" which reminded me, the kink brakes has been "desist"ed. also, why not oil the cable housing as well? if reducing friction is the name of the game, a little oil would help. i forgot which company makes cable housing that has teflon (or something) coating on the inside of their cable housing. and this video is by far, of all the "bike build/bike check" ive seen, the the longest and most detailed i've ever watched. and lucky you on those key chains!!!
In my opinion you are a perfect F-it for S&M because you do you no matter what and that's what S&M bmx is about, staying true to yourself and having fun period. Just my opinion
Brant, I use a mechanics pick to "ream" out the cable liner before running the cable through. Much better than using an allen key. I use the little orange set from Harbor Freight. It's like $1-2.
You start with ,”the moment we have all been waiting for”. I don’t think “we” really have been waiting or even excited about you getting a new bike. It was a great video other than that line. Looks great I hope you’re enjoying the new bike

Hey Brant, is it better to have a 28T sprocket with this frame? I have the BTM XL and I used a 25t and the axle is at the back of the dropout…I haven’t tried to slam it but idk if it would work. Maybe a 28T would make it better bc the 25t made the peg hang off the dropout a bit. Hoping to alleviate that! Thanks for you help.
How do you like the Venus hub vs a BSD revolution? I liked my revolution until it decided not to freecoast every once in awhile. I've had it apart 5000 times. I've tried every trick out there to stop the issues, but I just don't trust it anymore. I've flipped back 3 times now from the hub staying engaged.
Damn nice bike Brant, but why are you still struggling to put grips on with a compressor? Just pop them onto the end of the bar and gently pat them on with your palm, usually go in 3 taps or so depending on the rigidity of the grip.
I dig it, looking good brother. Now I would say use a dab of blue locktite on the gyro tab bolts and have someone tac weld those brake mounts on, which should help stiffen up the brakes slightly. Those brakes are sick with the bearings like the revenge industries brakes from a few years back. I'm glad to see someone has brought back the brakes with bearings!
@@x88868not really the point is so the frame works for people going brakeless and people being braked, if you're braked why bother having it removable
Duuude you could maybe get s&m to make certain things better for gyro riders. Gyros clear headtubes. Taller headtube frames can have them drilled a touch lower to save on steerer room. Dual frame guides. Real good for gyros, just get some removable style dual cable guides and you can keep your cabling really out of the way.
Seat post and brake levers were the transfer over. Or like a headset dust cap if I found a cool one. Seat clamps sre mostly built into frames now so those don't work. Ti bolts could maybe.
Brant, I started crushing old spoke nipples on the end of brake cables “with a pair of vice grips” to keep the cable ends from fraying. We talked before about the crummy aluminum brake cable tips always falling off. The nipples crush on super strong. Give it a try! I dare you!
Nice build. Ain't gonna lie.... a little "green" with jealousy. 😅 again very informative on small hiccups with new builds. The whoooole time Brant was setting up the Front End I kept saying to myself relax, it's for better gyro/cable pull! My wife kept telling me off lol! But, but! He could at least get a Stacked Headset Cap!! Wife = Eye Roll 😂
Old head here, I'm watching the bottom bracket going in thinking the mid is not that much different in size than the American. The American was a better design in my opinion it really wasn't that much heavier and if you wanted to change the bearings out it was a hell of a lot easier.
I appreciate the genuine constructive criticism. It's okay for people not to like something and you both prove it's entirely possible to be respectful about it
