If that dart went right it was always going right , you can easily 180 with a set of thick brass just takes far more use of flights to keep darts either side aiming for a deflection off the flight rather then the board itself
Quality content once again buddy. I've never been in a pub were the three brass darts were the same, it's always two huge ones and a smaller one. Never been the same set oddly. Argos have Winmau Navigators for £7.99-14.99 depending on their sale. Unbelievable value for money. I use a set of Rebel darts by RedDragon that are £16.50. Tried the Thornton's but they weren't quite right for me. I wanted them to be because they look class but it just didn't work for me.
@@DartsClass Perfect for beginners. I was going to say my challenge is to get a 180 with them but I won't be cruel. Maybe a leg of 501 in 20 darts or under? I'm 6'2 and like my darts to sit up, if I was shorter and they went in flat I would have no chance of getting a 180 with those. They're huge.
@@DartsClass That board looks like it's holding up quite well. I like the Blade 5 but I think it's overrated. The 4 was better. I got a One80 G3+ last week and love it.
Great video. Interesting to see the comparison between budget and pro level darts especially as darts are getting more and more expensive. Some times it’s hard to see the justification for dropping £70+ over a £30-ish set. Nice one. 👍🎯
Cheap brass is good enough for a complete beginner but the more you play and the better you get you must go for tungsten, but be careful not to fall for expensive sets of darts and then discover you can't throw them ! If you find your throwing well with brass then stick to brass
I just took up dart throwing (at home) about three weeks ago and I've been throwing cheap 22g metal darts. They came in a set of six for 15.99. I didn't have much to spend on darts that particular day but I had to get something to replace the old heavily used/abused stock darts that came with our board as a couple of them broke on the garage floor and playing with one dart at a time was not very fun. The ones I purchased definitely look and feel sturdier which is great for just screwing around in the garage with friends/family but they also seem kind of heavy and harder to throw. This doesn't seem to be an issue for my husband maybe because he is taller and bigger than me in general, but I feel like I have to throw them differently to achieve adequate thrust to make it to the board. I bought them with the intention to "try them out" and "get by for now" until the money came through to get a couple more (higher quality) sets. I'm going to try out a set of Red Dragon Amberjack Tungsten steel tip darts as they've received pretty rave reviews, I'm just struggling to decide what weight I ought to go with.
Just started darts again, I played when i was 15-18 with mates in our garages. Just picked up a board for the kids after the Worlds and decided to start playing a bit. I've thrown a couple of 180's so far, but just bought some new tungsten ones. Can't wait to see more of those beds.
Good throwing, considering you hadn't touched those darts before! Here's a question for you, who was the last professional to compete with brass darts?
Yeah, probably a daft question tbh, if you were the last pro using brass you'd probably keep quiet about it : ) Still, it made me watch Alan Evans v Tony Ridler (Tungsten V Brass) from '73 - Ridler hits a 180 with darts not dissimilar to yours!
Each to their own, I always find them easier to control individually but you can forget it if you want to consistently get 2 in the treble 👍🎯 thank you for watching
@@DartsClass i get more trebles with my brass darts than i do with my tungsten darts i get greater results all round hence why i say stangley i got on better with brass im a strange player i guess lol

@@DartsClass I know you wont. But I have my kids, wife, friends, relatives, neighbors around who keep on missing even the surround. First thing I did was to put a cover over all electrical wire that was within 5 feet of the board lol.
I hit my first ever 180 last week with a set of 23g brass darts and they all grouped in the top right corner of the treble 20
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos. You're very real.
Thank you Ron I appreciate that
I loved using brass darts back in the day, only issue with the ones in my local is that they were really light
I make a point 2 hit a 180 with every set of dart i get including the brass free darts that come with a new dart board
I have been playing almost 6 months and haven't hit a 180 yet. Hopefully soon. 164 is my best 3 dart score so far.

Nice one mate. Tried a set of Thorntons a few years ago sadly they were too slippy for me.

Haha yes very lucky to have a matching set behind the bar at a pub! The navigators are the awesome beginners darts

I'll have a try at both. I think I could do a 15 darter with them if I use switches

It's decent. I hear great things about the gladiator, think that will be my next one
"Funky chucks" - copper zinc alloy - You need a positive attitude - 167 - IF - IF you can hit that... chain three of them... you can get a 9 darter
I will back myself to hit one 167 but certainly not 3 haha

Still playing?
How far away from the dartboard do you stand...?
How big does my room have to be...?
Try them with your flights and stems.
Thats actually a good video idea 👍🎯
Good beginners darts that are £4 more than them brass darts winmau navigators
Navigators are amazing value for beginners

Yep wouldn't recommend the switch! Haha

I think you were over thinking the fat darts a bit. I’d like to see a go where you just throw a normal game.
