  • David Croft shows you how using Winmau SightRight Technology
    Watch this superb instructional video with the voice of darts David Croft, who shows you how to improve your darts and get perfectly positioned on the oche.
    SightRight's 4 easy steps gives you Perfect Dart Vision so you can position yourself perfectly on the oche time and time again.
    SightRight prevents sighting across the line (like 99% of TV dart professionals).
    Why set up at the number 5 when you're aiming for treble 20?
    Once you learn how to SightRight, your technique and biomechanics develop a symmetrical throw i.e. Double 16 and Double 10 will feel the same.
    SightRight straightens up the path of your darts into the dartboard dramatically reducing blocked doubles and trebles.

    Very interesting product.
    I tried it and i already have the right stance but it was very interesting to know.
    Most of the players try darts and flights and stems but don´t really think about the right position at the oche.

    I got nine months for child cruelty.
    The judge told me,it wasn't so much the dart injury he was jailing me for,
    it was the length of time she had to stand there while i scored 501,that
    he took particular exception to.

    Keeping the arm in one position is good advice, but every player does that and without even thinking about it. The key is to grip your darts and be able to throw them in a straight and comfortable way. The wrist should move from right to left and release each dart, before the arm begins to move downwards.
    I hope this advice is clear!

    In my hunt for improving my game all this is exactly what I've been working with.
    And it helps! A lot!
    Centerline is important because it alloud the player to practice ONE throw. Players who stand off-center must calculate the variabel distance between left and right side of the board and adjust their throw after that.
    Find the centerline, practice that one needed throw, improvement guaranteed!
    IMPORTANT: Grip the dart the exact same way every time! It's a part of the "one throw theory".

    My conclusion is that standing in the middle is the least of any throwers worries. There are many situations where you have to move over because of an intervening dart. Therefore is it safe to assume the most important thing is correct alignment no matter where you stand away from centreline?

  • @MrConnolly25
    @MrConnolly25 9 років тому +12

    All about how you release the dart.... Stance and whether you are straight is un-important, if your not comfortable you will release the dart wrong. The actual release of the dart is all about timing, repetitive practice is the way forward. Comfortable stance, comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes etc.... All about timing, comfort and practice! I'm not a pro but have played off over a 1000 in the handicap Leagues, complicating a basic game will probably make you worse in the long run.

    • @DartsReviewChannel
      @DartsReviewChannel 9 років тому +2

      I agree you have to be comfortable and it helps if your technique is as uncomplicated as possible which means your more easily able to repeat it. I have spent the last 4 years trying to build a new throw after losing my original natural throw through injuries. I dont know why but I got it into my head that I had to be as straight on as possible and done various things to get my body lined up and looking pretty much like a robot throwing a dart lol Ok I think been as straight as you can be is good for alignment but it wont be possible for everyone and I ended up with an incredible painful shoulder thats took about 5 months to ease, now I just let my body dictate its own natural line but try to keep the darts in a straight back and forth plane, my body will adjust itself to achieve that.

    • @tmitchell6552
      @tmitchell6552 9 років тому +2

      Agree compleetly with you. Timing, comfort and practice are they key parts.
      But i did see a video of Wayne Mardle who made a pretty good point. A firm and steady base is key, but this falls in line with "comfort". The other thing he pointed out that is crutial, is a level elbow. I tried it out my self and started to notices that with my elbow lowered, i evry now and then pulled the darts down.

    *rope!
    Just to add, there really isn't anything a line is going to do. The reason you stand where you stand is to do with eyesight and where it's comfortable for you. Take the line away and you will go back to standing where's natural. It's like throwing a snowball at something as a kid, yeah you might miss a couple of times but persist and you'd get it close maybe even on the button. I remember throwing stuff at stuff from all angles, was a good shot too didn't need a line. This is just the same it's down to practice not a silly line.
    Maybe those struggling should look at their eyesight and/or coordination. It's hard to swallow but some people just aren't good at throwing stuff and this aims to make money out of them.

    SightRight "technology" is a flimsy board with white lines painted on it and you can't take it to a real game either.
    A lot of the pros are lining up visibly to one side (Barney or Anderson for example). I think you would have to have a pretty big error in the way you line up to benefit from this product.
