  • Here we show the differences between a doserless grinder, the Mazzer Mini Electronic Type A and a grinder with a doser, the Mazzer Mini Timer. We also explain the way a doser works to help you make a decision which style is best for you.

Nice video but it's needed to say though dosered grinders are still very common and preferable in some Italian coffee bars where they can be extremely busy for most of the day (anywhere between 800 and 2000 shots a day) - so the coffee does not get stale and automatic grinding after each 12 whacks is perfectly fine. At VyTA cafe bar in Milano Centrale station, there are two 4-group Cimballis and a single dosered Mazzer Robur on duty and the demand is so high, they would not have made it without dosered grinder. I asked and they make on average 5000 shots a day.

Hi, I agree that doser grinders certainly have a purpose and they are useful in high volume locations. However, for work flow reasons servicing 8 groups with a single grinder doesn't make sense.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanadaYes, may seem so, but in this case they manage it with a single grinder, achieving unbelievably fast and efficient routine. It's a coffee sight of its own. 😀

    Great informative video... thank you.
Is there the possibility of removing the dosing chamber and fitting a makeshift spout on the grinder where the grounds exit the machine into the chamber ?
I have acquired a Fiorenzato F6 but am a home user who would as you mentioned, not quickly go through a large volume of ground coffee in the chamber.
    Many thanks 🙏

Following the demonstrated way is it possible to grind only one dose of coffee with the doser model - let’s say input 15g beans output 15g grist? Or what is the retention ratio in this scenario?

I've been using my Macap M4 doser this way to single dose for ~10 years. At the end of the grind I use a brush to remove all remaining grounds from the short horizontal grinds shute. This way retention is minimal. I've never measured it, but expect it would be next to nothing.

Can we use strong blower to clear the remaining ground coffee inside...?
