    If you listen closely to hold us down you can hear Odysseus amongst the suitors cause he is hiding with the suitors

      @ the whole song it took me like twenty times listening to the suitors cause i like listening to a single thing at a time in a song(another thing I can’t hear him in the challenge yet)

    That orchestral reprise of *Just A Man* felt so happy and triumphant but deep inside to us who all listened to the whole musical it was like a stab to the heart. How can you evoke two conflicting feelings with just a sound? Idk, ask Jorge apparently he did just that. 😂

      My take is that it's saying that Odysseus isn't a monster with Penelope. He's just a man again.

    Its easy to blame Eurylochus, but remember, Poseidon knows EXACTLY who Odysseus is & where he lives. If the wingbag stays closed, Poseidon would just rock up to Ithaca & likely threaten (or kill) Odysseus' wife & adolescent child + who knows who else

      Poseidon could maybe have still killed Odysseus and the crew, but he couldn't actually hit Ithaca. Ithaca has things like, y'know, a temple to Zeus. You think Zeus is gonna allow Poseidon to destroy his temples? Yeah, not so much. His threats to Odysseus in Get In The Water are all pretty much bullshit. He could threaten, but not carry them out, not from what we see in Epic...there are limitations there in practice.

    • @ThatOneGuyPlays
      @ThatOneGuyPlays  2 години тому

      @DeadmanwalkingXI That could happen but we also must remember Many people in Greek worshiped Zeus and he still let them die. Poseidon could easily destroy Ithaca and the temple remains standing with no people left alive. But I also believe the get in the water part is made because Zeus agreed to Free Ody because of Athena, so Poseidon wasn't supposed to kill him directly. But when Ody told him he could learn to forgive that Pissed off Poseidon and he didn't care anymore and did it himself, giving Odysseous a chance to ENHANCE HIS STATE! (As Hermes Said)

      @@ThatOneGuyPlays Zeus doesn't care about individual people, but he cares about Poseidon defying his authority, as would a host of other deities. Like...Poseidon can get away with messing with Odysseus because Odysseus hurt his son and Odysseus is in his domain (both are also true of Odysseus's men as a whole), the ocean...attacking land where the worshipers of other gods live? He can do it in theory, but all the evidence is that he can't actually get away with doing it. Zeus is hardly the only one who'd object to that.
      Like, Athena would do various stuff very differently if she could just do whatever she wanted. So would Poseidon. In both cases, the whole setup shows that the Gods have definite rules and limitations, and killing whole islands to get one guy is not within Poseidon's remit under the circumstances.

    Idk if its been said by others but I love that "Just a man" plays. In his wife's arms he puts the monster away and is her husband again. Coming from a military family, my dad was the same way when he came home, as was I when I hung up my uniform. Finding that balance is harder than fighting the war itself.

      @@dunningkrugerfxs5848 That was such a beautiful scene! I wish I reacted to it Live but I was to emotional on just the fact that they were able to be together again. But when I heard it editing the video you can believe me when I say I immediately teared up again and had to take a 5min breather before getting back to it. It's such a Real thing for ALL who are Soldiers and Warriors who return from battle but I'm glad you and your father were able to find that balance ❤

      @@ThatOneGuyPlays 60-80lbs is about right from everything I've seen, but I'm pretty sure what made the bow so hard to string was that it was a different style of bow than what was traditionally used in that region, meaning that there was a specific trick to string it that only Odysseus would have known.
