The first animatic in the playlist is two songs in one so it's the horse in the infant and then just a man and one video just wanted to let you know that so you don't think you're missing a song
For the song order, I'd recommend the official concept album playlist on spotify, they're all in the right succession there! Sagas are simply the story sections, each has a different cover because they released over time as mini albums.
Okay; so EPIC is a concept album created and written by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. Based off of Homers Odyssey, yet with his own changes (meaning it’s not an exact interpretation). It’s set into two acts, both consisting of 20 songs each, spreading over a series of 9 “sagas”. Act 1 has the Troy, Cyclops, Ocean, Cersei and Underworld sagas, act 2 has the Thunder, Wisdom, Vengeance and Ithaca sagas. Jorge channeled a lot of his love for video games into EPIC, and with that in mind, imagine each saga as a game level. Each face their own challenges for our protagonist (Odysseus) to overcome. The Wisdom saga however breaks from Odysseus being the main character and we see things from other perspectives. Absolutely highly recommend going to Jorge’s UA-cam channel and watching his premier party livestream. That livestream contains all his commissioned animatics from various artists. It’s the best way to make sure what you’re watching is canon to the story. Otherwise other various artists across UA-cam have released their own incredible animatics for each song. Welcome to the EPIC community, we’re happy to have you!
Odysseus is the King of Ithaca, he, up to this point, has been away from home for ten years because of the Trojan War, you might have heard about the wooden horse they used to sneak into the city.
You can enjoy just listening to the albums and get a lot out of it but watching the animatics will elevate your experience. It's such an intense ride and i only found it in August
Penelope and Telemachus are Odysseus' wife and son, the booming voice you heard toward the end of the song is Zeus, leader of the Greek gods. And there was a female voice too, just barely there at the end who is Athena the goddess of Wisdom and warfare
This would be a great animatics list to start with or look at: ua-cam.com/play/PL5-CQ6FFBjVnUZG00sno1xL3LSA7WmPpw.html TROY SAGA: The Horse and the Infant; Just a Man; Full Speed Ahead; Open Arms; Warrior of the Mind CYCLOPS SAGA: Polyphemus; Survive; Remember Them; My Goodbye OCEAN SAGA: Storm; Luck Runs Out; Keep Your Friends Close; Ruthlessness CIRCE SAGA (pronounced "Sir-See"): Puppeteer; Wouldn't You Like; Done For; There are Other Ways UNDERWORLD SAGA: The Underworld; No Longer You; Monster THUNDER SAGA: Suffering; Different Beast; Scylla; Mutiny; Thunder Bringer WISDOM SAGA: Legendary; Little Wolf; We'll Be Fine; Love in Paradise; God Games VENGEANCE SAGA: Not Sorry for Loving You; Dangerous; Charybdis (kuh-RIB-dis); Get In The Water; 600 Strike ITHACA SAGA: The Challenge; Hold Them Down; Odysseus; I Can't Help But Wonder; Would You Fall in Love With Me Again?
Welcome to the fandom! You’ll see, you’re going to love it! Like others, I strongly suggest to look at the animatics :) I also suggest to listen to an entire saga in one video or at least the songs that go together because some are a clear continuation of the previous.
This reaction was really cool, though for a better experience, I and many others who will find this video recommend you watching the animatics, Gigi has a one where it's the this song, and the one after it combined into one video, it's a really good first watch
@@JusJrdn you def should react to the animatics not the songs by themselves and I would recommend you watching them as sagas 4-5 each time to not loose the effect of storytelling and emotions
Jay the creator plays the main character’s voice Odysseus. It’s a take on Homer’s the Odyssey. He started it as a project for college and it snowballed from there with followers people creating animatics and an amazing online community. This is a concept album and he finished it on Christmas. It’s Troy, Cyclops, Ocean, Circe, Underworld, Thunder, Wisdom, Vengeance and Ithaca saga. So excited for another reactor. I highly suggest watching the animatics for easier contexts
So epic the musical is about the Odyssey and the story of Odysseus and how he has a long journey to get back to his home of Ithaca Greece there are 9 sagas starting with The Troy saga Cyclops saga Ocean saga Circes saga Underworld saga Thunder saga Wisdom saga Vengeance saga and lastly The Ithaca saga which just recently came out on christmas of last year its easy to follow when watching the creator (Jorge Rivera-Herrans ) of the saga i hope this helps
I'm glad to see another person react to this! Please don't worry about copyright stuff. You shouldn't have any issues with it. 👍 but I agree with what others have said. I would really recommend reacting to animatics as they provide more context.
EPIC is a retelling of Homer's Odyssey which takes place after Homer's The Iliad. The Iliad is the story of the Trojan War (Achilles, Helen of Troy, Hector, etc...). The Odyssey is about Odysseus, a Greek general who was the mastermind of the Trojan Horse, and his men's journey home back to Ithaca. EPIC is the creation of Jorge Rivera Herrans, who also voices the main character who you heard in this song. What most of the EPIC community wants to see in reactions is to the fan made animations, of which there are many for each song. I'm sure people will give you playlists, but in case they don't here is one i've curated. ua-cam.com/video/OE8TQBqWVV8/v-deo.html For the most part it has all of the fan agreed upon favorites in proper order. I would highly suggest rewatching The Horse and the Infant with the animatic to get the most out of this masterpiece. If you plan on doing multiple songs in one reaction video I would look up how the songs are broken up into Sagas.
PS the final saga (the last 5 songs of the musical) just came out on Christmas, so the fan made animatics are slowly flowing in but some songs aren't there yet. For the songs that don't have one yet I added the partial animatic/lyric videos the Jorge livestreamed on Christmas. But i'll eventually update those when there's a better fan made animatic available.
If you want/need a playlist for this, I've already provided it for another creator with the animatics made, and I'd be more than happy to share it with if it means you'll continue this!
Hello ! I actually have a playlist in order and complete, but it is with animatics at : ua-cam.com/play/PLHm6lrDDci4qb-Ob1yNutAXl4Fhhzfk6H.html&si=OWLTeLai2UKVLxvv If you only want the musical (as in the sound part) I would recommend the actual creator's channel : www.youtube.com/@JayHerrans/videos
I recommend Gigi for just a man but I recommend the combined video with track 1 and two it has a little more animatic, wolfy the witch full speed ahead then mircsy open arms and warriors of the mind because there extremely high quality and flow really well
Your reaction is awesome. I hope you enjoy this magical ride and welcome to this community of Winions. Just my input when I recommend people to epic i say look for gigi, mircsy, neal illustrator or wolfy the witch because the quality and how close they normal are to jorge continuity.
I love Wicked, I like most Broadway musicals and will obsess over them......that being said...personally, I prefer EPIC over EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Jorge is a master storyteller, he and everyone who played a part in bringing this to life is super talented and pretty much everyone who sang for this is a POWERHOUSE. As other commenters have said, watch the final live stream OR watch with animatics as it will give you a lot of context you might miss. Keep in mind this is a concept album...I am hoping we see sooooooo much more in future.
Uhm... havimg watched several other reactions... i can confidently say: Welcome to the fandom winion... its going to be a helluva ride, that no one leave.
@ea-xb2cf The first two sagas were originally released through a production company, and those old recordings are the ones used by the earliest Epic fan animators (like Gigi). That production company turned out to be scummy, and kept the money themselves instead of sharing it with Jorge and the other vocalists. So naturally, Jorge re-recorded the first two sagas, and formed his own production company to re-release those two, and the remaining seven sagas -- these new recordings are the ones you'll hear on most streaming platforms now. Jorge (the creator) has a live stream that post all the sagas in animatic form also there are 9 sagas
The best way is listening to it by saga, cause the songs make more sense together.
I highly suggest listening to the entire thing.
Its amazing
