It seems this info is not on MPI website bro. And we were really careful following the rule and that was rare case bycatch. We set the net in a super shallow area by which we could avoid the snappers. But yeah, thanks for letting me know.
@@AucklandFishing it is up there bro! Net rules it say the species & mesh size. It was 1 I'm sure they wouldn't mind too much. 125 is the minimum mesh size for snappers
@@Baitsniper After a little bit browsing, it is there but not on MPI website. It is different website. Yes, we only caught that one in that session. It is very rare we caught snapper on the net there.
@@AucklandFishing just got to becareful hahaha next time if you do have one in there. Quickly take it out just show the mullets & hook it on your line & say you hooked it with the fishing rod! Hahaha good haul of mullet brother! 👌🏾
I am not sure about that. But from MPI website, there is no rules about not allowed to take snapper when it is in the net. And it is not called mullet net, just a net. But to be honest, It is bycatch, and already dead.. this is our first time seeing the snapper in this shallow. Usually mullet, Kahawai, and flounder.
@@toddolsen5421 ah I see, that makes more sense.. still learning, I think there are nuances to the rules.. I was going out with my local friend. Thanks for sharing though :)
I understand that a 3.5 inch mesh mullet drag net that you cannot set it ,it must be dragged through the water and you can only take mullet but a 4inch mesh set net you can take anything of legal size within the legal limits was adviced of this when I purchased a drag net 12 mnths ago@@AucklandFishing
@@AucklandFishing good video to watch. Keep updated with mpi rules as each area is different. And snapper always feed around mangroves. Minimum set net mesh size is 90 mm.
What a stunning zone! Absolutely beautiful. So awesome to see you two doing missions
Thanks Dwhat :)

@@AucklandFishing fishing has been slow but it will pick up soon.

Is there a part 2 to this clip?
Thanks for your comment. Yes, there is part 2, with title “Fishing one meter deep water”. Cheers, hope you enjoy it

thought you were not aloud to take snapper with a mullet net.

@@AucklandFishing think its something to do with the size of the mesh seen fullas get done for catching snaps with one.

Do you guys sell any muller for bait?
NZ fishing laws forbid selling fish without a licence to sell
@@michaeldavey-t7syou are right bro. We cannot sell, we can give away though 😂
