On a real note, Speedily was actually gross in contenders, which is something everyone seems to forget because he was forced to play tracer in OWL. Genuinely one of the most dominant echos I’ve ever seen besides maybe fleta
Fissure was benched because the Seoul coaches couldn't agree on playstyles and who to field. Each day a different coach would decide what to play which is why 2019 Seouls starting 6 was a revolving door. This was covered on Tobi's episode of the Overwatch University podcast.
I remember Moon asking Fleta and Fleta saying that his age affected his performnace. He said something along the lines of "I used to be able to beat these guys easily, but now its not so easy anymore". Also Dragons did have opportunity for other tanks. Moon just tought that Fleta's leadership and expirience would be worth more compared to picking up another tank. Also I'm still mad about Speedily choosing to focus on valorant instead of actually trying to win. Like bro, how are you gonna do this to my team. YOU WERE SO HYPED.
Yeah, Speedily could easily fit into a video like this… people kept calling him NA Proper, finally gets an opportunity to prove himself and throws it away essentially. If he truly focused on OW in 2023 I wonder what would have came of him.
Can't forget about Flower. Being hyped up as the best flex dps hands down based on his world cup performances. Then finally hitting the age to play in OWL and being an overall let down
i think he kind of peaked early becoming one the best anas and zens in the world but then the competition got better, still a great player at one point tho
I think the Dragons situation honestly could boil down to money. While it does help to play in the OWL and it’s an opportunity many players would want, the fact that Fleta - and then Fate were the only tanks the team got makes me question if the team had the option to actually AFFORD other tanks - or, if other tanks KNEW about the NetEase situation and didn’t want to play on Dragons. That’s my take on it because the team at an ownership level was completely fractured.
For tragic end to careers, I'd like to see Yaki. I was so hyped seeing a Yaki Kevster backline, but for whatever reason, they just didn't mesh. I get that neither Yaki or Kevster were sombra players, but they even looked bad on their comfort picks while playing together. And I'd like to see a video about players that saved their career and see Happy covered. He was so inconsistent for so long but then suddenly found that consistency
@@TheESPER I remember him being really inconsistent through those years. He was good some games, but then there would be games where he's just a non factor. Then he had that bad 2022 so 2023 felt like his last chance to redeem himself (well it was everyones last chance lol)
Nenne was top 3 zaryas in 2019 and people like super and ksp were praising him on stream saying he was actually cracked but when he went back to dps he was so mediocre to the point they put SBB back in. Really sad but classic NYXL knowing how to kill a DPS players potential
If Alarm isn't on this list then I'm going to be sad. nvm youve done a whole video on him and also I commented this before watching like 15 seconds of teh video i just immeaditly thougt of alarm when viewing the title

It’s very unfortunate, but I think Speedily focusing more on Valorant was actually the truth when he was in Toronto.
Another person i think woulda been nice in this video is Yaki
Pelican echo >>> any Fleta echo
@@SilvyGL dude you’re right Yaki sold his career so hard

I kept finding conflicting things of why it happened, but if it actually came from Tobi himself then that must be true.
@@TheESPER there's a translation posted on competitiveow
Yeah if I remember correctly, super also said the fissure was a huge diva and couldn’t really function within a team
can you give me the link to this podcast?

his performance in that world cup tho🤯
Nice vid, as someone who only watched the first season of owl I was wondering why no1 talks about Fleta or Carpe anymore
underrated channel bro, you'll be big in no time fr!
No one ever talks about ryujehong people just forget how good he was
i think he kind of peaked early becoming one the best anas and zens in the world but then the competition got better, still a great player at one point tho
I wonder how he would have performed in 2020 if Titans stuck together.

Possibly the other tanks thought it would be career suicide and didn’t want to do it and just grind contenders hoping a 2024 season would happen.
Bro please upload more, I’ve watched all your videos in 1 week lmao keep it up 👍
I watch every video just got to say it’s amazing

Happy was really good in 2020 Guangzhou and 2021Outlaws, it's just the weird 2022 Washington/Glads situation.

2:36 dont ever disrespect pge like that agian lil vro
If you don’t have a stroke when typing again I won’t disrespect soon to be NRG PGE again.
love the history! going to dreamhack dallas, pumped.
You could have added FDGoD was a star Lucio player in 2020 but after that the teams he went to didnt seem like they synergized with him very well
Yo you should make a video on the best performance in a single series for each hero. For example for sojourn proper grand finals or something
That is an interesting idea actually, currently I'm working on all the MVPs + ranking of them.
Fleta still one of my goats🙏
He is still one of my favorite players of all time even though his tank was atrociously bad.
@@TheESPER It was probably more about fleta getting nicely paid for playing tank and thought why the hell not
Probably, I don't blame him considering the state of OWL in 2023.
would've liked to hear about the pine crashout. not sure what happened to the guy.
I'm not sure if I remember correctly but Beasthalos "career" ended pretty bad as well, or am I making things up?
He was good on Fusion university but didn’t really have any success in OWL.
The fact people said Speedily was better than peak Fleta is wild
Like even s5 Fleta was good til he lost motivation
Nenne was top 3 zaryas in 2019 and people like super and ksp were praising him on stream saying he was actually cracked but when he went back to dps he was so mediocre to the point they put SBB back in. Really sad but classic NYXL knowing how to kill a DPS players potential
Nenne was fantastic but all people remember is the "Nenne grav" which is actually from the Seoul vs NYXL stage 1 play off.
LR-15 got me 😂😂😂😂
I'm glad someone finally got the reference!
You’re OWL player downfall videos are you’re best keep making them 🔥

Yeah I was trying to avoid more tragic or serious things and just focus on a career fall off specifically.
@@TheESPER of course that makes sense. I got taht sense from the video after watching the first one
Great vid 🎉
Hello ESPER can you talk about LBBD7 cuz his play support and damge and tank rn idk what his main but his something
He is a Flex DPS player but Twisted Minds are having lots of problems so I think he will be playing tank during the upcoming LAN.
Idc what anyone says in fissure and fleta still goats 🗣️
who tf are LR15 and fuckin MARVIN
LR15 is from one of the casters ZP who called Iris that when he first got signed in 2020, he genuinely thought that was his name.
PGE catching a stray
We love PGE
The way you pronounce some of these names will be your downfall I stg L R 15? Marven?
LR15 is from a caster actually, ZP thought that was Iris' name when he got signed in 2020. Only the longer time OWL viewers will get that reference.
when your glorious goat drops a vid 👅👅👅
PGE still da goat
He will make it there eventually.
Trqstme :(
