    By the way Clapton got the woman tone by setting the tone on the neck PAF to the sweet spot between 0 to 1 and set the volume to between maximum or 9. Sometimes he would use both pickups together with the same settings and would turn up the bridge PAF tone slightly higher (approx 3 or 4). Unfortunately for those of us unable to afford a 60 yr old Gibson achieving an authentic woman tone is far easier with genuine 50s wiring & vintage PAFs.

    I am so tempted to get one! Love the 60's faded and each one the way the color fades is so unique on each top!

      60's is my personal choice but it was really close. If you're a LP fan, you won't regret either of these... They feel like REAL LPs with some serious tone and playability.

    Great video! This helped me pick which one to go with. The faded will save you hundreds over buying the standard. You really can’t believe how different than neck feels with the 60s slim taper. I tried both and the thinner neck just felt awesome for me personally. The pick ups in the 60s faded are definitely hotter than the 50s and much crunchier. This is a great guitar for the price point!

    I just received my 60’s the other day and it plays so well! Only thing I noticed was my case is black and doesn’t include a pick guard, which the color doesn’t bother me. Wish it included a pick guard as well though!

    Man I’ve been sleeping on the new Gibsons! Just seeing this faded series and really want to get my hands on a few to play through. From your audio clips the 50’s has the sound for me. More open, clear and dynamic but not lacking at all in the low and mids. Makes sense with lower output Burstbuckers. Bridge 50’s driven was THAT sound! All the gain you need right there. 60’s sounded good too, more for hard rock IMO

    I have a LP Standard Slash and a Trad. In the Slash one the knobs are elevated, not in the Trad. I never though of that as a "feature" but more like that is how they set the knobs at factory.
    Is that a feature? like to be expected from 50s standard but not from other ones? or is it that the pots are longer?

    • @JorgeSalasGuitar
      @JorgeSalasGuitar  Рік тому

      Not sure if it is a feature or not! Sorry. I bet both guitars kick ass!

    Just picked up a minor blemish 1 for $2100 coming Friday ,,,, putting pickup covers on mine .. seems these faded have much better flame tops hmmmm!!!!!!!! update .. these are the best les pauls made in a very long time mine is 8,10lbs ,, incredible guitar you can shave the binding to a better feel seeing there is very little clear coat ,, yes heavy neck and light body .. also I removed the grommets and installed i piece bridge posts like a real ABR-1 ,, the Epi abr-1 inserts will screw directly into the body . the perfect Paul

    You’ll end up changing the Gibson Deluxe tuners by Ping after a few string changes. They’ll get sloppy and loose.
