Lol he forgot that Santorum pulled out too.
And I apologize for putting "Santorum" and "pull out" in the same sentence.
+Ro Ban no he didn't that guy droped yesterday at night after the show was taped
+Ro Ban *shudders...*
You don't have to apologise for that. :)
+Ro Ban Remember when he told people to look him up on google?
+Ro Ban You don't have anything against Catholic birth control, do you?
I actually gained a smidgen of respect for Huckabee with that speech. We ARE sick of you! Thanks for taking the campaign off life support!
+mariokarter13 he should of been forced to carry it to full term :P
+mariokarter13 I know! I just about died laughing. He's always so serious and seemingly self-important, but that was super funny.
+TheNzFox Words do not describe how fucking savage you are.
+TheNzFox Slow down there, satan
+TheNzFox of what?
The Hungry For Power Games is one of the cruelest analyses out there
SpocketteINFJ Make no mistake, a knife is for cutting and these writers are sharp so I wouldn't have it any other way - but dang. SHARP
+WeeWeeJumbo I know, ain't it great!
***** I do sympathize with that perspective
***** Well, I can only speak for myself; I'm anything but a Clinton supporter, and I really enjoy it
+Toroidal Zeus He bashed everyone fairly. It's just that there were so many republicans that equal time meant proportionally higher republican bashes. Also, he never makes fun of anyone's policies in these sections. He just burns them on the state of their campaign and lack of support on their way out.
They are getting hit by the door on the way out so to speak.
Possibly my favorite Hungry for Power Games yet. Hilarious.

+Lauritz Wiesinger He should have shown them off, might have helped
+Lauritz Wiesinger his sixpack alone could have counted for half the votes Jim Gilmore received
+Sleepy .Time could've or could have

fixed :)
+gabzpiano Ⓥ you vegan brao?
"As they say, brevity is the soul of wit...and yours was a very witty campaign indeed"
I think I might have fallen a little bit in love with him for that joke.
I've honestly haven't heard of Jim Gilmore till this video
+jokekiller14672 **Exactly** lol
Congratulations! This comment has more likes than Gilmore had votes!
+Pandaikon0980
It just passed 5x as many likes.
+jokekiller14672 and your comment says you haven't heard of the rules of contractions
Is he related to Happy?
*STEPHEN STILL MANAGED TO EAT SOMETHING IN THIS SEGMENT LOL*
I was waiting for this to come 😂😂
+Suha Asadulla So do I haha this segment is a elections classic
+Suha Asadulla My favorite recurring bit on late night TV.
+Suha Asadulla *cum
me too
+Suha Asadulla I like how you wen tout of your way to put an extra "o". Dumb ass dude
Noooo not the only sane Republican....Goodbye Rand Paul....
He shouldn't have contested from a party where it's members are allergic to logic and reasoning.
+Rafael Kresmar Yeah, it's a shame. And it's worrying that an advocate of Sharia Law (because, let's face it, that's what someone who wants the law to be based on the Bible is going for) won this caucus.
+starlinguk It's a different kind of stupid, but equally dumb as Sharia Law. What is however more worriesome is that people seem to accept idiots like kim davis but act all suprised about radical islamists...
There's Jeb! He's okay, but nobody wants him
+flipmaya Hey, give him a break. :)
americans i envy you. such good satires are not possible in most countries!
+Dupla Do Barulho true that. no other country has presidential campaigns as cartoonish and over the top as america
+Dupla Do Barulho That's cos they have such good comedic material to work with. They sit atop a gold mine of stupid and crazy hahaha
Such great idiots can only be made here
+paladin400 “CuteSpaniel” are you serious? the Indian election is crazy, and several south american countries have ridiculous elections too.
Sam LeDoux hipster...
Not sure if "Hillary won" is the bias of Stephen or Time Warner showing, or both
+Pickle Master What part of "Hillary won" is incorrect?
+naughtycursor it was a tie.... she "won" out of luck and if anything bernie won with the gain of momentum
+naughtycursor Hilary didn't win on votes, *she won by coin toss*, no joke, there were coin tosses in 6 districts and she won all 6.
+JO. O Bernie won a coin toss
+JO. O She did not win by coin tosses. Those coin tosses were only for COUNTY delegates. Clinton won because she won more STATE delegates. It was not chance Jo.
Oooohhh. I was waiting for this! This is the best segment on any program about the 2016 election! Lmao!
I refuse to go to bed without seeing my beloved colbert. Oh and #feelthebern
Rand Paul in a toaster? He must've been feeling the Bern!
he's deliciously vicious in these hungry for power games sketches lol i love it
Gilmore had so little attention, his death wasn't even displayed on the Fallen.
+Max Caulfield No, it's because apparently he's still in... for some reason. Heh
Stephen said at the end that he hasn't actually dropped out
+Max Caulfield He still in the race, that's why lol
On another note, Max is one of my favorites, I liked her character a lot.
+Max Caulfield Poor guy got only 12 votes, he didn't even get 0.1%
Yes because unfortunately the guy is still running. apparently he has some cash to burn
"shake hand, kiss baby, kiss hand, shake baby..."
Nice Harvey Birdman callback ;)
Colberts Cesar Flickerman impression is REALLY REALLY good!
I mean...12 votes is better than what Gilmore was probably expecting.
Listen, all of you that wants Bernie Sanders to become president, then you better get off your ass and go vote. So many people in my generation (millennials) will root for a candidate but not make the effort to vote. So help this country get a president that isn't terrible at their job and go vote!
+dontwanttosignupok Actually, only old farts who can't do shit for themselves think that millennials are "laziest and stupidest generation". The rest of us know that the baby boomers are possibly the worst, most entitled, and useless generation across most of the world.
+dontwanttosignupok That's what all generations say about the generation upcoming with their crazy ideas and their newfangled bullcrap. So far the boomers aren't doing a great job though.
+dontwanttosignupok It's proven each generation that comes after will, on average, be smarter.
I still find it incredible that Hillary edged Bernie by amazingly winning all six coin tosses! Like what Stephen joked, the coins have literally turned against Bernie!
+dontwanttosignupok ?? how are they lying?
I thought I would miss him when Colbert Report died, but I love that he's turned the Late Show into Colbert Report part II.
He's so delightfully catty. I love it. I'm looking forward to more of these segments.
Do you Guys also look up when you hear the canon 😁
Listing Paul as District 12 was a nice touch.
They should have done a cannon sound after he mentioned each "fallen tribute" 😂😂😂
The second I saw the costume I knew this was gonna be gold.
HA-HA! Phil Ken Sebben reference. Damn, I miss that show.
0:31 "Kiss babies, and shake hands, and do your best not to mix those two things up."
"Your every move is watched and criticised, as you kiss babies and shake hands and try not to mix those two things up."
HARVEY BIRDMAN REFERENCE!!!
I can't wait to grow old watching Colbert bring this bit back every four years, and thirty years from now explain to my grandchildren why a book about kids killing each other was popular in the first place.
Colbert always tries to diminish Bernie Sanders. That´s really annoying
+Voicecolors that's not true, he has made entire segments on him before and he continues to highlight his momentum. That being said, the rest of the media is diminishing Bernie indeed, which is expected considering that the guy runs a campaign on his own.
#BerniePromposal is STILL TRENDING. That's pretty cool IMO.
Daniel Galeano Yes, segments mocking him. He hasn´t acknowledged Bernie as a viable candidate and now he´s saying Clinton won despite the fact ever news organization said it was a tie.
+Voicecolors CBS owns the writers that Colbert reads...CBS and its owner are obviously against Bernie...It isnt Colbert
+Voicecolors Technically Clinton won. She got more delegates and more percentage of the vote. As he was clearly not planning on into the complexities of who won and who loses based on expectations. So it was just simpler for him to say Clinton won and move on to the point of the segment
"They kiss babies and shake hands, and do their best not to mix those two up." That Harvey Birdman Reference my god!
The writing on this show is at another level.
#feelthebern
+dontwanttosignupok Losing by 0.3% in a state you once were 40 points down is hardly called losing. In fact, you could call it the opposite.
+Jacques Nomdefamille Lol that also with coin toss. XD
The whole country is going to feel the burn if Sander's economic plan passes.
His Ceasar Flickermann impression is absolutely spot on!!!!
I’d like to see this back again
Anyone else miss this segment?
"The Kentucky Senator and self-certified ophthalmologist..." Haha! This show has the best writers!
been waiting for power games for 2 days
you forgot your fancy crazy straw, your funniness.
Colbert is getting better and better.
I hope he continues to get edgier and edgier. It seems as if the best parts of the Colbert Report, and the talk show format are starting to come together.
Amazing, Colbert's show is the only talk show I watch.
Proper selfburn from Huckabee
Making him slightly burned bread
I absolutely love Stephen as Caesar! xD
I wonder how much stuff is behind that desk, I mean Colbert can pull out anything behind that desk.
Year from now....we'll all miss this segment ...
Will never be able to look at Colbert in the same way..
Even as a Nordic libertarian Canadian, I felt sorry for Dr Paul. He was marginalized like hell because he stood for change. I wish the election ultimately featured Rand vs Bernie, giving America a REAL right/left option. But now it's Bernie or bust. No more neocons!
i want to hug this man
No more 2 party system.
My favorite segment. Genius
This is something I would watch on a plane
Please bring this back for 2020
That Harvey Birdman reference though.
You've come a long way, baby! Love this series. *Muah*
I can't wait for Colbert to do the Hungry for Power games on November 9, 2016. ;)
omg, his Stanley Tucci is on point! lol
So, I recently watched Harvey Birdman, and just realized he made a subtle reference to Phil Ken Sebben. "Shake hand, kiss baby, shake hand, kiss baby, shake hand, kiss hand, shake baby..."
This is my favorite Late Show sketch. It's too bad it won't continue on after November.
Bernie got 50% of the Iowa Delegates, it's fair game for either candidate.
#FeelTheBern, #BernBabyBern, #BernieSanders2016
*Vote for the candidate who is funded by the working families, not billionaires and criminal bankers; Senator Sanders*
+SirLagsalott coin flips man, not votes.
+SirLagsalott funny a difference of .3% is equal to 3 more delegates ?
***** because one of the closest ties in history deems it so?
***** Except that doesn't tell the whole story. In fact, there were at least a dozen tiebreakers - and "Sen. Sanders won at least a handful," an Iowa Democratic Party official told NPR.
I think you need to read this part a little harder.
I LOVE when Colbert does this segment!
This impression is phenomenal.
And those purple brows are on point.
"He remains white bread" LOL
The Jim Gilmore bit had me dead 😂😂
I'm going to miss when the Hungry for Power Games end.
I'm 90% sure Stephen mixed up the shake hand kiss baby routine while voicing Phil Ken Sebben on Harvey Birdman. Awesome self reference!
Hahaha luv it. So glad this is available on UA-cam.
"Kiss hand! Shake baby!"
Harvey Birdman reference!!
was that kissing babies, shaking hands and getting them mixed up a reference to what Phil ken sebben did in Harvey Birdman attorney at law
Colbert clearly watched the hunger games more than twice
Wow he does a pretty great "Caesar Flickerman" X)
No disrespect to Stanley Tucci, but these segments make me wish Stephen had actually been cast as Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games.
.3% and half a dozen coin tosses? No Stephen - that's an effective dead heat.
This was just brilliant. :-)
The greatest thing that the Hunger Games series has contributed to the world is the inspiration for these sketches. Fantastic.
Best segment of all time
I was touched by how he put Rand Paul in District 12.
This clip was even better than the other one uploaded earlier!
favorite bit. I can't wait till there is only one.
Huckabee is gone?
I would thank God but Huckabee would enjoy that too much.
Am i the only one who thinks Jim Gilmore dropped out, but his polling was so low that the media isnt giving him an announcement
every show should be like this! HAHAHA!
"Hungry For Power Games!"
"He's not gonna do the thing is he..."
*CAESAR FLICKERMAN*
"Goddammit Stephen's doing the thing!"
"your campaigns might be over, but your memory will live on until we go to commercial."
_cuts to commercial_
i'd like to think that at least one iowan named jim gilmore was watching that night and went, "omg i'm on tv!"
So does this mean Rand Paul is Haymitch (McConnell)? They are both from Kentucky, which is in District 12.
This is the most genius thing I've ever seen him do other than his Super Pac
The Kiss hand Shake baby reference just makes me miss Phil Ken Sebben More
I think that this is my all time favorite skits 😂
Meanwhile tho 🤭👍
I love how Colbert covered how close Bernie was to Hillary and how it was decided by coin toss and everything in Tuesday's episode, and now most of the comments here are complaining that he's not STILL talking about it in a mostly unrelated segment about people dropping out of the race.
4:27 "Obviously the voters are sick of me."
Alright, don't like Huckabee but that made me laugh.
Stephen is the best 😂. This was fucking hilarious
I don't know the ratings but Colbert is much funnier than Fallon...
Tie!! Oh yeah! #FeelTheBern , baby!
The Jim Gilmore bit killed me omg
i wasn't aware that colbert was such a high level hedonist as to pull out a grape flavored titillation. i will have to raise him a delightful unawareness that gilmore ever existed.
+kght222 6:19 ok, you won steven, but that is only because the extent of my debauchery is unspeakable =P.
Huh. I saw in the news that Paul was dropping out, but I missed Huckabee and O'Malley. Oh well, Sanders, Clinton, and Kasich are still in, so we've still got the three that I like.
Wasn't Hillary polling at 60% in Iowa a few months ago? And Bernie at 7%?
Doesn't seem like a loss to me.
0:33 I see that Harvey Birdman reference, you sly dog, you!
Bernie only lost by 0.3 percent, he did not really loose... It was a virtual tie
My favorite segment !
