Worked well for 5 years no problem at all, replaced the rope just because and sold the boat after 2 more years of service. Now got a Hewescraft that came with a trailer lol.

I like your roller idea except I don't have two keels. I had to set up a set of wheels on my 5th wheel tailgate so the wheels rolled on the keel on both sides. I installed them on a bracket then mounted it on the V gate. I remove the assembly when done. It's a 12ft aluminum boat so I have to leave the tailgate on so the boat only hangs out 2ft when loaded. Creative minds think alike👍

I have a livingston 10 and am looking to get some beach wheels installed. I see you have the wheel mounts installed on some sort of addition to the stern. Call you tell me a bit about that? I’m not sure what to do because that bunk along the transom would be where I would install the beach wheels, but I obviously can’t get inside that bunk. Please advise. Thank you!!

I used a trex decking board which is made out of PVC type material and will hold up being in the water to bring the mounts out to avoid the top lip off the boat so the wheels would fold all the way up. To secure the mount I used stainless bolts and washers and a silicone to keep it water tight. I did put storage hatches in the rear areas inside of the boat to attach the lower bolts/nuts. Hope this helps, has held up well over the years.

in the video i didn't have the rear storage hatches installed yet. I just used long enough stainless screws to attach the the bottom of the mount. It worked for awhile but leaked water in over time. So then i added the hatches for storage and to be able seal it up with bolts and washers and silicone properly.

rouseanator623 so you eventually cut into those rear bunks to install the mount and then turned them into storage?? That’s epic! I’d love to see some photos of the upgrades if I could.

I'm going to use some of your ideas, I picked up the 10 foot version yesterday after a lot of reading about these little boats online.

I have a Livingston as well and i purchased very similar wheels that you have on the back. I was wondering how you mounted the wheels, i would love to have them on and im just not quite sure how i would fasten the backs of the bolts on the inside of the hull. I appreciate any input you have. Awesome homemade loader by the way!

At first I did 2 stainless steal bolts above the hull on each side as high and low as I could. Then used a stainless screw to the hull where I couldn't do a bolt at the bottom and sealed each hole with marine caulk sealant. I have since cut holes in the hull and installed bolts in the bottom also and put hatches in the hull for storage, a way better option. Also I used trex decking I think it's made from PVC like material to space the mount to clear the lip of the boat so the wheels can go up.

Great job for hauling your Livingston. I have a 1988 8 foot model which is hauled on a modified jet ski trailer. The design of the bow has changed, mine has a single pointed bow. It's for sale.

Why the pvc roller in the middle where you have your winch. Why not just mount the winch in the center

It wouldn't work like that think about it. How would you crank the handle to work the winch? An electric winch with a control would work in the middle.

It's a great boat, but I no longer have a tow vehicle, so it just sits around on it's trailer. I plan to build a mini-pontoon boat that can be car-topped.

Why not just set the front on the truck and shove it in? It's not that big.

LOL... I wish it was that easy. I'm lazy and don't like taking off the motor. I have used this loader for about 4 years now and boat has got a lot heavier with more equipment. I love the looks and comments I get when loading and unloading my boat. Everyone "just shoving it in" is supper jealous of me when I don't have to unload everything in my boat and I'm in and out of the water in about 5 minutes. not to mention I don't scratch the shit out of my truck bed.
