Thanks! Super easy to use and built to last which is what I look for. Cost will vary depending on the setup - best to give Cam a call and they can give you some guidance. Cheers, ORT
Hey mate, the custom boat loader is gold. Yep this one is a mako - I sold the Dart a little while ago and have just built a new setup. Both are great little boats, the Dart HDW is just slightly better than the Mako 370HD IMO due to layout. Without collar the mako is marginally more stable at rest though. Cheers, ORT.
@@ourrealitytravels if you were to buy a new one, would you go a dart or a mako 370? I want something with decent ride but still some stability even without a collar.
For me, I'd be putting a collar on it without question so would go the Dart. If def no collar, the Mako would be worth considering for the extra stability from the edge tracker design. Both are great little tinnys. Fully welded and higher sides than most.@@fishinbite
Thanks for the video and showing the loader in such detail. Would it be possible to let me know the total length of the loader and if the rear overhang is based on the vehicle to clear it when the boat gets lowered and lifted up?
Hi mate, best to give Cam at custom boat loaders a call and he will be able to give you some guidance, I'm not sure of the specific measurements off hand and not with the car at the moment. Don't want to give you bad advice. Cheers.
3800 in this one. Very tight on capacities with a decent size van (we don't tow a 3.5t van). 4t should be fine depending what other gear you want in the car (if you start going rear bar, long rang tanks, drawers etc you will be pushing it). Make sure you check rear axel weights as well as this can catch people out. Cheers, ORT.
Gday mate. Much noise created from boat / rack etc when on highway or corrugations? Also…. Is it easy to completely remove the boat loader from the roof if I wanted to re install a different roof rack for a trip not requiring the boat? Cheers in advance and thanks for the vid mate! Courts
Hey Courts, I think the noise level will depend on vehicle. The 200 has pretty good noise suppression and I can't say I've ever notice anything from it. If you don't put a twist in your tie down straps they will humm, but otherwise no noise for me. To take it off is relatively easy, two bolts on each mount - but its heavy and you will either need two people or a hoist system of some sort if you want to do it single handed. I tend to just leave it on and use it as a roofrack when I need the extra space as it doesn't annoy me being on there. Cheers, ORT.
Surprisingly with the heavier suspension in the car it still drives really well. Of course you can feel it on there, but compared to other vehicles I've had in the past (prados/hilux etc) the roof load doest impact the cruiser badly. I've never had it on there without the gvm upgrade though - standard springs might be a different story. Cheers, ORT.
Not an issue with the rear loader either, I normally pull the bow up off the ground, hose the bottom of the hull, then pull it up until it hits pivot point and hose out the rest from the inside - can leave it there as long as you like, move it around to different angles. Cheers, ORT.
I don't think a y62 has roof rating high enough to put any decent size boat on it unfortunately mate. Best to give them a call and ask - what Cam doesn't know about roof toppers aint worth knowing. Cheers, ORT
We've tested this loader in the real world and it keeps coming back for more. Any questions on it, let us know in the comments below.
Have had mine for 2 years..
Same setup as this on a 200 series ..
Trust me these are fantastic..
Highly recommend..
Yep can't go wrong. So simple which means you actually use the boat. Cheers, ORT
Amazing set up! Would love to know what the custom boat loader set you back!! Cheers

Such a good setup! Now all i need is the tinnie 😅
Some inspo to go get one!
Perfect, very informative, thank you
What an easy setup! Is that a different tinnie to before as i can see makocraft on there. Thought your last one was the dart?

Decent benefits over the side loader
Yeh for sure, worth checking out. Cheers, ORT
Great setup, thanks for the info 😊
The nicest set up so far. What GVM upgrade that you have on the cruiser? Thinking about going 3999 but not sure if it can handle a boat on top.

Hey bro thanks for the great info, does the tinny have much effect when driving on the highway, iam tossing up putting one on

Hiya, do you know what sizes do the winches come in please?
I'm not sure sorry, best to give Cam at Custom Boat Loaders a call and he will be able to give you some guidance. Cheers, ORT
Big bonus with a side loader is you can rinse it out while it sits upside-down on the rails. Let it drip dry, and up it goes.
Not an issue with the rear loader either, I normally pull the bow up off the ground, hose the bottom of the hull, then pull it up until it hits pivot point and hose out the rest from the inside - can leave it there as long as you like, move it around to different angles. Cheers, ORT.
Do you know if I could get this in the states?
I'm sure if you were willing to pay the freight they would send one over for you. Can't imagine it would be a cheap exercise. Cheers, ORT
How long is your boat?
3.7mtr (12ft in the old scale). Cheers, ORT.
The website doesn't show a y62 patrol so i'm thinking this isn't suitable with the rear door coming aways up!?
