I always wondered at the retelling and changing of the texts, it did seem to me as a kid that the writers were trying to make David a better person, but my teachers would say "don't ask questions like that" and now I know why
David is one of those figures that really threw me as a kid and led to my early rejection of monotheism, because I’d hear about him being the golden standard of God’s law and the better replacement than the fallen fool who came before him, and GREAT King David, the scion of the messiah and etc.” But…he got his wife by watching her privately bathe and then, after telling a married subject to sleep with him, devises a plan to have her husband killed so that she can have his kid. And God is going to send me to hell because Pokémon were an “idol”? Even with the VeggieTales ‘pie war’ sanitizing of the story, it just doesn’t make logical sense. Also, keep in mind that David was ONLY given the literal Mandate of Heaven, because his predecessor, Saul, failed to complete a genocide. Which upset Old Testament God.
great series will definitely rewatch these again.

Bravo! Very enjoyable and informative presentation!
Dr. Monger will you cover the 12 Minor Prophets in future and explain how they fit in all of this.
This is really high quality academic content thanks. As an FYI, I think there is a typo on Israel, it appears as Israel on my end. Thanks again!
Thanks, fixed it 😅
