Maple leaf Mel had that Arrogate breeding and she broke down during a race in horrific fashion. Research and check out all his foals that raced...see how long their careers were. All unsound. Seize the Grey does not have many races left in him....trust me...he doesn't. His bloodlines say so.

Liberal Arts is also out of Arrogate, I think. He started running in the same races as Seize the Grey. I thought he would be a Derby horse, but come 2024, and Liberal Arts has not gone forward.

1:49 Mystik Dan was trailing anyway but lost any chance here, not sure what happened, he got turned almost too much into Seize the Grey's legs/path and had to noticeably change course, losing momentum
He didn't get into Seize the Grey's path, his jockey was switching to the outside to make a run when he realized there was not going to be an opening on the rail

What a training job to get this horse good enough to win like this. Win the Pat Day Mile as the prep for this, that race had a 44:4 half mile, total different pace 47:2 and surface, but the horse just cruised a long and still had kick left in the stretch

Surprised Dan lost? No. He had the best trip in a huge field in the Derby. That’s how it goes in the Derby. The horse was 18-1 for a reason in the Derby. Surprised Seize the Gray won? No. I remember being burned by Oxbow and Lukas in the Preakness years ago and I’d be damned if that was going to happen again. And like Oxbow, Gray took it wire to wire. Good to know and remember your history.
I was screaming as they were coming down the stretch, screaming Seize The Grey's name. I cried after he won, saying Arrogate's prancing up in heaven, happy that his boy won the biggest race of his 3 year old career. Secret Oath gave Arrogate a big win in the Oaks in 2022, Arcangelo added the Belmont last year, now Seize The Grey adds the Preakness. I'm still excited cause Seize The Grey is the 1st grey since Silver Charm in 97 to win the Preakness, anyway I'm going to keep watching this race over and over. Congrats Seize The Grey and D Wayne.

My late father always said the greys were bad luck and not to bet them. When I bought a piece of Seize the Grey, his old superstition was on my mind. Glad I didn’t listen! Jaime and Coach have taken us on a wonderful ride.

Amazing run by Seize the Grey, held the lead throughout the race. Time 1:56.82. Secretariat's time 1:53.2/5. Still undefeated in 51 years.

agreed, but i think he was gonna come up just short anyway. The winner had an absolutely perfect trip.
Very similar trip to Arkansas Derby which I didn't think was good and had a nearly identical result.
