For anyone just seeing this video, the RTR with the battery and charger is now down to $239. It's an excellent car to just buy, learn with, and upgrade into a serious drag strip monster.
Man those prices were basically the highest prices you could find. I just picked up a new controller with receiver 45$, new 4300kv brushless 34$, new 34kg servo 35$, new sc8 120amp esc 60$. The price of the do it your self was a complete turn away. A decent charger is about 60$ and a decent 2s pack is around 50$. That do it yourself should have a lower and upper price range. Ill price everything out and return with the numbers
Just built a dr10. Using a hobbywing 10bl120. 4.5t surpass hobby motor. Low profile servo. After market shocks. Iroc body. Cost about $450 without rx/tx or battery.
After seeing a video you had done on the DR10 as 10 BEST RC CARS OF 2020 I wanted one and I looked at every place on the net that sold them and they were almost impossible to find. Surprisingly I found a shop here in AUSTRALIA that had one left and bought it. I do not race it as I have just had to move and there is not an active scene of any kind for anything RC racing. The last I got the recommended charger and 2s 3s batteries through your shop for it.
Congrats! Those cars do sell fast so you are very lucky to find one at your local hobby shop. Maybe that car was meant to be yours! Enjoy yourself and let us know if you need anything. -Brett
I gotta say, for a hobby store whose life is selling things to people, your videos are AWESOME. As someone who races across the US, its getting bigger. They dropped prices after the initial boom of the rtr kits. All of the aftermarket parts are still the same and a lot of them are out of stock a lot of the time. All of that said, none of these rtr kits will make it in nprc. You're up against several thousand dollar cars with sponsored teams.
Hello AMain Hobbies, thanks for all the great content! I am just about to get back to the RC hobby after years of absence and I really like the looks of those drag car bodies. I am not a drag guy myself (I like curves as well ;-), so I was wondering how well those drag cars (AE DR10, Losi 22S Drag and Drag Slash) can do street/dirt/offroad bashing around? Maybe going for some short course or buggy wheels and raising the body? If I remember correctly, you did jump the DR10 in your video and I found that very appealing :D I have never seen someone "bashing" a drag car, so I was wondering if you could give your opinion about such an undertaking or maybe even make a video of how such drag cars can be misused to perform on asphalt or dirt/offroad track. I know about the SR10 stock car you presented in a recent video (and I really like it), but there are a lot more bodies for drag cars available. Keep up the good work and content!
Hey Mike. Happy to hear you want to get back into the hobby. These RTR drag cars were an off-road vehicle someone added a drag body and tires too, and called it a drag car. What exactly make's it a drag car? That we accept it. Forge your path Mike and create whatever you want. Jump a drag car, drag race a monster truck and drift a tank! Good luck my friend. -Brett

Are you talking about the driveshaft inside the outdrive? Having some lash is normal until it becomes excess and you'll notice the driveshaft pin wear flat, with matching wear in the outdrive; when these parts wear out it creates a lot of slop. If your slop is not from the outdrive/driveshaft but just the spool assembly, check the long spool pin hasn't broken because that's common.
