I did this for my late ex-husband for almost a decade. It’s a labor of love. His legs eventually turned black/green. He had PPMS. So many things against him. My husband suffered terrible. They took his left leg above the knee, and found cancer. Two days later they the right. He died from lung cancer five months later. I’m praying for this PT. Please do what the Drs suggest. I’m alone, lonely, and after 5 years later trying to get myself together. 🙏🏼♥️🪽
ive been doing this same kinda wrap for my mom's legs every week since 2017 when she found out she has lymphoedema. it's a pain since she constantly gets Cellulitis infections. that's the infection Dr Emma mentioned. it can be deadly if not taken care of. moms still going strong every day.
What a lovely bedside manner Dr Emma has. She always shows such compassion and sympathy to the patients. This one was a whole team effort - including the patient's wife for the daily skincare.
She has 4 children too! I'm not a doctor, but I agree, she's amazing. I wish she could bottle her kindness, knowledge, looking past the obvious, concern & caring and send some to my GPs.
My father in law ( who is not this person in the video) passed away from this. Sadly, he didn't want to put the effort to control this. I am glad this gentleman succeeded in getting control.
I love how she consults other doctors. I work in the medical field and doctors who consult are the ones i trust. It means alot to me if they know when to say their not the expert
Graham Suffered with his condition for a long time. So glad he sought treatment. Such a debilitating condition if it goes on for years. So glad his treatment is working.
I wish doctors in America were this friendly and welcoming. Here they just rush out in and out without really taking the time to be personable and get to the root of the problem. This woman clearly loves helping people!
My experience has been different. Each doctor and their staff I have good experience. I treat them how I want to be treated. I build a relationship with them because my health is super important to me.
I have to say I have an immune disease that took years to diagnose but because of my great caring doctors I've had great success and love my doctors, both my doctors I regularly see are amazing and I'm blessed❤
I have great doctors where I live in the US. My pcp takes as much time as we need. Some place have to incorporated time limits on appointments. That is very sad and doesn’t help the patients.
Graham is a legend for following through on this and listening to the doctors. While you can't always change your lot in life you sure can improve it by following through.
Im from Canada and have been watching this regularly now. What a wonderful doctor. And what a great help for the patient. I couldn't imagine the feeling of powerlessness. Im so happy for him .
I did my masters in wound care, I saw a few of these cases and they are long term treatments, the skin care, and bandages absolutely make a huge difference. Patients who could exercise more getting fitter to help the heart pump more efficiently and of course a high vegetable , low sodium diet really astounds me, it’s really difficult for some people and an awful condition that takes so much of the patients time. I’m so pleased for this man the relief must be enormous!
I'm so pleased to see a professional who is familiar and acknowledges what a time suck this condition is. You wouldn't believe how many doctors just tried to give me Lasix over the years (which does nothing for lymphedema! ) it took me 5 years to get a proper diagnosis. And I commit almost 2 hours out of my day to maintaining my stage I lymphedema.
Ugh this poor man, what a debilitating condition. He had to go down the stairs backwards. Dr. Emma is awesome. And her energy is just really encouraging and calming. Truly a grade a example of what patient care should look like
Ive had Lymphoedema (right leg) for 24 years or so and altho I’m happy this patient got the correct treatment, it saddens me that he wasn’t diagnosed much earlier. Years ago after no help from my GP (in Essex) I pushed for a referral to St George’s where they sorted me out. I’ve had two periods of this bandaging and it works marvels, but as Dr Emma says maintenance is key, and with our fabulous NHS he will be helped all the way. Great program that really explained this awful health problem. 0:01
he blamed it on fried rice when he claimed it was food poisoning, but I’ve had that before from eating sushi, and food poisoning DOESN’T make this happen
I wish this dr had seen my mother. She had massive abdominal lymphodema and was always getting sepsis. Nobody in the health service was willing to help her, they just viewed her as a disgustingly morbidly obese woman. Sepsis killed her in 2021.
That’s awful. Doctors need to stop letting their feelings guide how they treat patients and recognize that what they’re seeing might be caused by the health issue; instead of blaming the patient.
So awesome. The patient, his wife did a lot to make it happen. Changing behaviors is really hard. Plus, the doctors knew what to do to save his life! Congrats!
I really feel for this man. I have congenital primary lymphoedema in the lower legs and am a patient at St George's Hospital in Tooting. Been going there for years and the staff there are brilliant. I've had amazing results from following a keto/low carb diet. Following this diet means my body doesn't hold onto water as much and results in less strain on the lymphatics. Last time I went for my appointment the therapist actually said I've somewhat reversed the disease. I also do a lot of intermittent fasting which helps with weight management. A healthy weight is critical to not overloading the system. Throw in regular exercise and wearing compression garments (with regular skin moisturisation) and you literally have a recipe for success. I've had this condition since I was 21 years old (45 years old now) and it is completely manageable. Wishing lots of success to this gentleman. If he remains dedicated to bettering his health, he will succeed 💪
My dad has Lymphedema he's suffered with in his lower legs for years. He has just made it through the weekly bandaging. Today he has been fitted with electronic leg wraps he will wear daily. It is amazing to see how different he walks.
I suffer with lymphodema and lipodema. Never heard of electronic leg wraps. I have ones you do yourself as with being disabled I couldn't manage to get then on.
I wished American doctors would be this understanding and non-judgmental and help the patients as much as she does. And the other team who worked with him.
I love Graham's Northern accent. He remained pleasant and cheerful throughout the consultation and his treatment. His bandages as well as the skin cream are making a huge difference to the swelling of his legs.
I've had my legs wrapped up that like that before very uncomfortable after a couple of hours and I only had normal swelling maybe a little excessive but not anywhere like this and I couldn't stand it congratulations to this man😮😊
I have this same lump just not as large yet. The right one has started as well. Unfortunately I’m in the USA with no health care. I can work on the weight and exercise but the wrapping is beyond me. I’m forever grateful this kind gentleman got help! Made me cry. I’m truly so very happy for him and his wife! Thank you Dr. Emma! 🫶🏼😎🫶🏼
These doctors are incredible! They know the lymphatic system inside and out and their caring is genuine. Their care helps their patients physically, but mentally. These docs ROCK!
He's so lucky to have such a support within his wife. That's hard work for her but I'm sure it makes her heart filled with joy to know that she can help her husband and see such a big difference.
I live in the US. My dad was a veteran, and his body looked exactly like this! Only… the VA didn’t do much to help him. He died with his body far worse than this. Fluid was pouring out of his body, on the bed, and even running off onto the floor. The last time an ambulance was called to his home, they literally had to cut him off of the bed. The fluid was congealed, glueing his body to the bed. My mother, sister and I were taking care of him 24/7, and still could not do enough. This is the most horrible way to die. I’m so grateful to see this man get help! I only wish the veteran’s health system had done the same for my dad.
I just love her! Dr Chin told me it was all in my head and to go home. I refused to leave until I had an endoscopy and tests showed half the stomach lining was gone, I had a deadly hiatal hernia so severe I was told not to strain it would rupture and I also had a large precancerous black sore in my stomach. I have been on long term medications and thought I do have issues, I am sooooo much better. If I had listened to Dr Chin, I would have died. Thanks to Dr Grewal, I have improved so much! I love Dr Emma and wish they could all be like her.
Thank you, Graham, for so coursgeously sharing this horrible condition on UA-cam. I had no idea the lymph system could malfunction with such nasty consequences. And thank you to the medical team for their kind expertise, and lucid explanation of how the treatment would work.
This is amazing Dr. Emma....you are amazing. I know you had help on this one, but you knew who to call to make an amazing difference in that man's life.
I found this very helpful. An acquaintance (who recently passed) had this condition and had such severe skin infections that she spent months and months in several hospitals and a rehab center before her heart gave out. I had not understood the skin condition but now with this program educating me, now I do understand.
great, fantastic! My mom has lymphedema but doesn't want to bandage her leg :( but that is the only chance and here we can see how effectively it helps.
As someone who lost her mother partially to this kinda thing.. Definitely try to change her mind.. its a serious issue and if caught soon enough you can live a long happy life. ❤
I've had lymphodema for around 6 years now, last April I was rushed into hospital with sepsis, water retention and heart failure, I was in a coma for 4 weeks, now my legs are fantastic, no more swelling 😊, wish I'd have gad Dr Emma to help me because my GP was awful, well don't to the gentleman you have done amazingly well xx
Graham, you have my deepest sympathies, I have suffered with this for many years with many recurrent bouts of cellulitis which has twice resulted in sepsis so I know firsthand just how debilitating this illness is. Congratulations on the progress you have made, thanks for sharing your story
Oh my gosh how he was suffering and to see the difference physically and emotionally is just amazing. I’m so glad he was able to find such an incredible team of doctors to not only help him, but do to so with such kindness. I really like Dr. Emma.
This was wonderful to see. I wish more people would accept the compression. I have so many that take it off and refuse to put it back on. They end up with cellulitis so many times over and over.
At times it is also just not having the support to get them wrapped again. It is a daily thing and some insurance or providers aren't able to pay to wrap daily and can't really wrap the legs yourself very easily. I was trained and spent multiple years wrapping my mother's legs
Excellent diagnosis, and treatment recommendations, with Extremely positive results. You have changed this mans life for the better. Aslo thank to the other doctors, and to not forget how dedicated his wife has been to assist and care for him. He's such a jovial man.
Excellent video! Lymphedema has traditionally been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and often ignored due to lack of information. Many times people think it's "just fat". Lymphedema therapy can be life-saving! This man's severe lymphedema didn't appear overnight. He likely had signs of lymphedema a long time prior to this video.
Oh yeah EAT LESS and EXERCISE MORE they tell ya, and you know what you eat is no reason you are the size your parts are. So you become more isolated and disabled. One can only hope to find a doctor that skips fat shaming to try to understand there's a disease beyond your ability to diet away. 😢
My Aunt recently passed away from complications of this horrible condition and my grandaughter was diagnosed with it a few years ago so I've been very worried but your video gives me hope. Thank all involved for sharing.
My mom has lymphedema & I think she needs to watch this! I don't think she realizes how much wrapping will help. Thank you for the advice for my mom. It could save her life!
Great teaching video. Lymphedema is more pervasive then people know. I take it he’ll not be able to have the extra skin removed as this clears up? He is definitely high risk. Seems like a nice man.
Wow ! I hopes he sticks with Dr Emma and her team and follows thru. I am an RN in the ER and see this kind of problem all the time and pts don’t follow thru 😢. Keep up the great work!
Amazing doctors, as a 4.5 year suffer of this retchid disease I understand his frustrations, lucky I finally found a physician that’s helping me 4 years in a public hospital going nowhere, it must also be said this man’s wife is amazing, I would be lost without my wife’s help

Does diet, nutrition and exercise help to reduce the severity of the condition?
Let's put it this way: Diet, nutrition and exercise will prevent it from happening.
Not true. Stop victim blaming. @@llamalady8700

My mom has lymphedema & I think she needs to watch this! I don't think she realizes how much wrapping will help. Thank you for the advice for my mom. It could save her life!
My heart aches for Graham. Dr. Emma is a true blessing fir him ❤
God bless him as he continues to heal!
I love this Dr's personality, and manner with her patients
I loved that this gentleman is getting answers! He seems happier
So happy for Graham. Well done, ALL.
Great teaching video. Lymphedema is more pervasive then people know. I take it he’ll not be able to have the extra skin removed as this clears up? He is definitely high risk. Seems like a nice man.
Congratulations to the doctors, the patient and his wife. This was a team work, well done.
God Bless this man! I feel like the outcome is going to be a success.
Wow! Such an improvement for this patient. Kudos to Dr Emma and her team! 😊
This man has such a great spirit. I'm glad they were able to help him!
So much improvement...you have done a great job for him!!
I’m really glad to see him healthy!
Wow ! I hopes he sticks with Dr Emma and her team and follows thru. I am an RN in the ER and see this kind of problem all the time and pts don’t follow thru 😢.
Keep up the great work!
So pleased you’re all able to help him
Amazing doctors, as a 4.5 year suffer of this retchid disease I understand his frustrations, lucky I finally found a physician that’s helping me 4 years in a public hospital going nowhere, it must also be said this man’s wife is amazing, I would be lost without my wife’s help
Wonderful success. This man is putting the work in. Good for him
