It’s the UK, NHS doctors don’t even bother with their patients, it’s all paracetamol and off you go, if you want real treatment you have to go private, most people tho can’t afford it so it’s really sad
@@HAIRHOLIC_1 intentional systematic underfunding by the politicians the past two decades, they know they can't sell off the NHS until it's so terrible people will take anything else in the desperate hopes of it not being as terrible.
@Catchmeifyoucan_ Am so sorry you feel that you've been dismissed by your gp, I know a lot of people feel that way right now. As someone with chronic health issues and a close friend who is a gp herself, I can see it from both sides. Most gp's (my friend included) are really unhappy at the way the system expects them to deal with more work than they can safely cope with and that they can't give patients the care they want to give them. The NHS is definitely failing them too.
I’m so happy for the patient. She was listened to and respected by the doctor. The doctor is also so bright, knowledgeable, and no showmanship, just down to earth and genuine.
Dr. Emma always considers the whole picture abt the patient; how it affects (in most cases ruins) the person's life. She considers the psychological consequences as well as physical. Such empathy and competence. She's what every doctor should strive to be.
Dr Emma is just amazingly perceptive and understanding not just of the disease but the effect on patient's lives and emotions. The look on this lady's face at the end when Dr Emma remarked "you've got your joy back" was wonderful.
HER OUTFIT IN THE END THO ❤ she defintely is a fun person to be around. That strut down the hallway was runway worthy ❤😂 i want to be like her when im the same age. She really brightens up the room
To be honest, you can’t necessarily assume that she wasn’t told. Sometimes in the moment, patients just can’t take it all in and remember it. That’s why it can be advisable to have a friend come with you to your doctors appointment, or someone you trust, if you have a more serious condition.
Bless her, I think many of us have been there in life with some really hard thing to face and its just the most amazing thing when someone can come along and help us carry the burden or lightens it for us, so glad she could help her and give her hope!
Dr. Emma we need more doctors like you. Just the amount of time and care you give your patients is incredible. Your not only treating skin conditions your giving peoples self worth back
It’s so incredibly amazing how you understand not just the physical implications but the emotional impact that it has on lives I’m soo glad you are able to help.
I really feel for this lady. Ive been struggling from two mystery illnesses (one for about 6 years, one for over 20 and I'm 28). I've seen multiple doctors and still no treatments or answers
I’m so happy for her. She has so much more confidence in her face that it shows. Skin problems can be very painful and irritating. She looks better with the radiance of her confidence that shows up on her face. I wish her the best with her new fond confidence.
Way too many doctors won’t deal with complex disorders. Many won’t admit they need to research something. If it’s a woman, there is even much more propensity to blow off symptoms. I really respect a doctor who says they don’t have the answer but they will check it out.
Dr Emma has a lovely way with her but northern Irish people are friendly 😁💖. So pleased for this poor lady. Those of us with no skin/appearance issues don’t know how lucky we are 🕊️🕊️
I'd never heard of that disorder but it sounds like something like Mycosis Fungoides which is an uncommon blood cancer which begins in the skin and in its final stages infiltrates the internal organs with unfortunately predictable results. These rare T Cell Lymphomas begin out with the lymph nodes and are extra nodal Lymphomas.
I have weird skin. I'm allergic to stuff I get exsema and acne. Any kind of moisturizer my skin breaks out in pimples and hives. Then I watch these videos and remind myself to stop complaining.
Unfortunately, I'm not surprised how many doctors fail. I went through 73 physicians to find the one willing to treat me. I'm alive and well because of he did. I had one woman doctor make fun of me, I overheard her talking to someone. I'm a CRNA. I couldn't believe my collegues were cruel, fruitless and unwilling to learn. My lesson to teach others is not to give up. Be your own patient advocate. Ignore the naysayers. Keep going to find the healthcare provider that will try, will treat, will stick by you.
You can see how differently she feels about herself now. She's got rid of the braless, knockers-in-the-lap look and has got out her "Look at me, I'm feeling fine" outfit. Gotta be happy she's got her va va voom back.
@@nowirehangers2815 Don’t come on here with your “snarky” comments! She’s responsible for buying her own bra. Especially if she doesn’t want people staring at her.
I wonder how many viewers actually realise the enormity of doc Emma’s academic and professional achievements away from the show (which is just a tiny fraction of her accomplishments) ? Google her, you will be astounded, no idea how one human packs so much into 24 hour days.
Look like Dr. Emma had some filler added to her face. She looks more youthful and full in the follow up session with the client. Looks great! Great work Dr. Emma and what a wonderful bedside manner.
she discussed if one medication didn't work, they had to get right on to the next one to keep trying. i think since this is a dermatology show, they didn't spend much time showing that part of the discussion.
She looks wonderful, but to be honest her eye brows don't seem to match each other. It looks sort of natural... Actually my real eye brows don't match either, like hers but less of a difference. I wish they would have addressed this. I know nothing much can be done know, but how long until they fade away and can be reworked I wonder.

My
I'm always struck by how many doctors fail these patients over years and the amount of suffering they endure due to the lack of proper care.
Because those are poorly trained doctors

My favorite thing about doctor Emma is the fact that she explains to the patient what's going on in their body.

Her comment "soul destroying " hit my soul!! So true w/ people who are uneducated!!
Bless this lady!!
Sending a virtual hug!!
you can see her inner spirit shining through...soooo happy for her...continued success always to her.
Dr Emma is a genuine caring soul.
To live with no to little hope just crushed the soul. A lovely lady. So happy for her.
Feel for her, she’s never gotten clear answers until now. Emma is great!
Shows how doctors too often don’t bother explaining things to patients.
@@kimc555 they definitely don’t, although some are great. Advocating for oneself is exhausting too.
I wish all the patients in these videos the best. It reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for.
God bless the doctor for having the knowledge and compassion for helping Kit!
She was a lovely lady before the treatments - and now, she's BEAUTIFUL!!! What a great smile!
That would be the satisfaction a dermatologists can have, a patient that regain her confidence, and having positive attitude 😊
The fact it can mess up her organs and stuff and nobody explained that to her is negligence IMO

Wow! What a difference in this sweet lady's countenance! God bless her!
Kate's gorgeous, inside and out!!! Thank you Dr. Emma!! 🌺
The way Kate said FINALLY after having listened to what Dr. Emma said has brought tears to my eyes
If I can get just one Doctor like Dr. Emma in my lifetime. I would really like that!
OH Sweetheart, I am so sorry that you have had to go thru this. I hope so much that you can have it treated and cleared up completely!
Dr Emma has such a genuine friendly, warm demeanour, I'd instantly feel better just talking with her. Lovely and ideal personality for a doctor!

God bless you, Dr. Emma. 😊

Yes, Kate, you indeed look smashing!

I hope the disease had not attacked any of her internal organs. They hadn't even checked thar.
Dr Emma probably referred her to a good hematologist.
Bizarre that they second doctor didn’t tell her what the disease was about.

How could she have had this without proper treatment for years??? Disturbing 😊
