What a great report. Garden and railway looking lovely!
Thanks Rob. The morning was a little dreary for filming, but the evening had the right ambience with the Christmas lights!
RE the garden: Plants had a great summer as it was fairy rainy here in Jersey which I think has translated well.
Brilliant!
Thanks, Keith!
cool, it is a nice garden railway. I think sometimes the domestic planning permission is harder to get than planning permission from the town council!!
I've been lucky that hasn't been an issue but it's definitely a discussion around trade-offs!
@ I have a 160m loop around the garden, all at ground level. I’ve got domestic planning permission to elevate two station areas to save me having to bend down. A Paternoster will get installed in the garage at some point to make storage easier
Train sets are popular for Christmas and gifts
Absolutely! Still enjoy getting a 'big red box' under the tree.
Am I the only one whose interest in model railways didn't deminish in their teenage years? You hear about this in the hobby a lot. 😂
There is at least one more. 😄
For me, it did. However, that interest was rekindled while living in Berlin and walking past a model-railway store!
Yaay!!! LGB steam in action !!
It looks great when it's running!
It's all my mother's fault - when I was 4 she took me on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe's _El Capitan_ from Kansas City to California where the Navy had sent my Dad. Sorry mateys, but this Navy brat now likes trains better than boats. 😆 And still does.
Nothing wrong with that. My grandfathers were in the RAF (Royal Air Force) but I was more a train rather than plane kid so I get where you're coming from.
