Superman's kind smile when he returns the child to the parents. Then the slightly freaked out look on his face when he's surrounded by adoring people. Such a pure Superman moment. He's not in it for the glory, only the good.
1:48 by FAR the best superman scene, probably ever. Such a powerful scene he really arrived to Earth and made every human question what’s even real. That S on the roof, that woman looking up to the sky with all her hopes and prayers, ir wasn’t God that answered her call, it was Superman.
In real life scenario this could happens like 100%. Humanity was not ready to accept that an alien being, let alone his race just destroyed half of the city on Earth, to accept him easily as one of them.
Zack Snyder’s craft is under appreciated. The imagery in this section is perfect. The messianic shot in Mexico is obvious, but the rest? Oh my god. Superman pulling a ship as if he’s carrying a burden, but he’s actually saving the people stranded on top that survived the sink of their ship. Superman rescuing the astronauts from the explosion of their rocket, and he lands as if he’s struggling with the weight of the rocket, but he’s actually being careful not to hurt the people inside. Superman about to rescue flood survivors while the senator and journalist are talking about how if they don’t let him act, innocent people will die. Zack Snyder’s films have always been about imagery, but most people don’t care for imagery in movies. Those of us that do, we understand and appreciate this movie a whole lot.
@@mikelarry9517 how does "superman get worshipped" makes it better than any superhero lol? This is the most non supermanish to me, the usual superman would just continue to put out the fire with his cold breath and then interact with people adter he's done fixing the problem
It's more than just the messianic thing in Mexico. Superman is the ultimate all_American hero, but he is an alien. We, Mexicans are aliens to Americans. They call us aliens.
I also liked what he said about humans looking for a Messianic figure and then wanting that figure to abide to our rules. It’s an interesting thought, especially when it comes to Superman.
Please tell me you didn't refer to Neil deGrasse Tyson as just some "Indian Guy". Dude is as American as he can get. Born in Manhattan, went to Harvard, lived his whole life in American trying to teach idiots about validity of science.
This scene is spectacular. How would you feel when people debate whether your existence is necessary or not? Superman does the right thing but people see it differently, even though he saved countless people, he was also responsible for the loss of others. Zack, Thank you for this modernized version of Superman!
BvS wasn’t perfect but I tell you what, Zack Snyder’s visual style is perfect for Superman. He captures the essence of the artwork of Alex Ross and Jim Lee, who I feel drew Superman the best. Zack Snyder portraying Superman as a modern day god among humanity is everything I always thought Superman was like. The slow motion and the romanticism of how Superman and other heroes are seen is exactly the mental picture in mind and he captured it beautifully.
I think he’s not portraying Superman as a God. It looks like he’s portraying him as an Angel. Because he’s always helping people here when they actually need that help, he has a great power that helps him to save people from the really bad accidents yet he doesn’t have that much power to predict or prevent them. That’s how I see it
He's not portraying him as a god. He's portraying how some people see him as a god, even though he's "just a guy trying to do the right thing". But yeah I love his visual style as well, it's perfect for these grand and larger than life characters.
@@TG-bd7yd exactly!!! Snyder was portraying Superman as a god like figure through the perspective of the humans. People only wanted to see Superman in these scenes but don’t understand the context of the scenes and shots that Snyder is trying to portray through his visual storytelling. As someone who was trapped 4 days in a roof because of a hurricane hitting my country. Let me tell you that is fucking horrible, you feel hopeless waiting for the worse.
This is actually one of the best references. The woman symbolizes a human that needs God’s help. And Superman with that paradise sun light behind him symbolizes an Angel who’s been sent by a God to help us. That’s how I see it
It's a key shot in this movie. A lot of critics would look at this shot and say "why is he just floating there, do something! This is all style and no substance" and they miss the whole point in that shot. It's not just to look pretty. I see it as a shot symbolising how so many people in the movie see Superman as a god. Despite Clark just being a guy trying to do the right thing (like Vikram says in this clip) people look at him as a messianic figure and savior. Compare it to the shot later in the film when Clark goes to meet Bruce right before their fight. Superman appears in the sky covered in rain, there's thunder behind him. Batman is in the same position as the women except unlike her, he's not reaching out to Superman. This shot juxtaposes with the shot in this scene to show the other side of Supermans public perception. How half of the world, like Batman, see him as a threat.

The music solemn and subdued in tone and theme until such time we know the woman to be given to caring hands, After which it rises, swelling like the oratories in the Temples of the gods while still holding on to the subdued theme is quite a statement
The extremely uncomfortable look on Clark's face as all the people are reaching for him speaks volumes. He thinks of himself as just a normal person who can do extraordinary things and we see him as a God among men.
This was certainly one of my favorite scenes of the BvS movie. Superman was portrayed as an actual God which he most definitely is. The divine nature was always an essential element to the Superman character.
It's actually the opposite it's trying to say he is not a god, he is someone who is just helping and saving everyone because it's the right thing to do.

This whole film is an aesthetic prodigy. But this particular scene, which is a thematic synthesis of everything the film wants to tell us about Superman as a myth and as a man, simply overwhelms me.
This is basically is a good portrayal of Superman and gives a unique perspective, people expect Superman to be this perfect god-like being when in reality he’s only a man who’s trying to do the right thing there’s no moral obligation or anything, it’s difficult for our society to process that someone just wants to help with nothing in return or anything to gain. Zack Snyder definitely showed a unique side of Superman and how people would realistically react
This is one of the best scenes I’ve ever scene, when you put everything in together, the dialogue, how he’s being perceived by humans, it’s correct and they are questions I always had, what if Superman did exist, how would we react?
Snyder truly captures the heart of Superman (and most of DC's heroes) struggle: gods among men. They don't fit into the wider society. Marvel's heroes mostly have it the other way round; humans gaining superpowers and their struggle is living with those powers in society.
This is one of the best moments in film imo. These 30 seconds where Clark saves the girl And he’s embraced by the people and not to mention the music....chills

He never tells anyone who he is, he just acts. Superman is remembered for his rescues and fighting bad guys but Superman has also always defined himself as a person who is doing the right thing. He tells people this, he talks to people.
Superman never let's himself stand above others because he doesn't view himself as above others. The problem with Synder's Superman is that it feels more like the Super is what defines him rather than the man.
@@writer_man5318 yo what? This superman does define himself but not by saving cats from trees and telling news reporters "I'm here to do the right thing!" He shows his character with his actions. He's always doing the right thing.
If you want him to spell it out, he does in man of steel in his various discussions with General Swanwick.

Insurance companies in a nutshell
This scene is the greatest: writing, imagery, music. All perfect
I like how this scene depicts superman as a god and how people reach out to him as a symbol of hope.
The point of this scene was to show how the world sees him as either a god or a devil whereas he's just a guy trying to do the right thing.
The first scene in Mexico makes this movie much better than any superhero movie
@@mikelarry9517 how does "superman get worshipped" makes it better than any superhero lol? This is the most non supermanish to me, the usual superman would just continue to put out the fire with his cold breath and then interact with people adter he's done fixing the problem

Zack, Thank you for this modernized version of Superman!
0:30 The hero to end all heroes. We love you Superman.
Abhisar Sharma He is a God!!!!!
This is actually one of the best references. The woman symbolizes a human that needs God’s help. And Superman with that paradise sun light behind him symbolizes an Angel who’s been sent by a God to help us. That’s how I see it
He looks like a hero
That's basically what he would be looked at as if he was in the real world. Underrated movie.
0:43 Look at Superman. This is not what he wanted. He just wanted to be someone who's doing the right thing.

The music solemn and subdued in tone and theme until such time we know the woman to be given to caring hands,
After which it rises, swelling like the oratories in the Temples of the gods
while still holding on to the subdued theme is quite a statement
The extremely uncomfortable look on Clark's face as all the people are reaching for him speaks volumes. He thinks of himself as just a normal person who can do extraordinary things and we see him as a God among men.
If superhero existed this is exactly how we have portrayed it.......Superman is the benchmark on which every other fictional superhero is ever creted
I always cry when superman saves that woman from the flood
This was certainly one of my favorite scenes of the BvS movie. Superman was portrayed as an actual God which he most definitely is. The divine nature was always an essential element to the Superman character.
It's actually the opposite it's trying to say he is not a god, he is someone who is just helping and saving everyone because it's the right thing to do.
@@mohithbunny I think he's saying the perception of Superman was as a god. A being who could do those things and saved so many would quickly become thought of as a god. And that doesn't mean there aren't those who will despise him for it (Luthor.)
