In the Belgian countryside there sits a magnificent 100 acre estate with over 300 years of family history preserved within its old walls.
We are greeted by decades of overgrowth, creeping up, around and inside the house, casting a constant green hue.
As we venture through its warren of aged hallways, we pass portraits that peer way back through the generations.
It’s elegant rooms remain untouched, stacked with irreplaceable furniture and artwork.
We’re surrounded by fragments of days long gone, the experiences, interests and passions of all those who once called this place home.
So much time has passed, the building now sags around its contents, yet nothing here ever changes.

This must have been a very happy home in its day. The hustle and bustle of maids and nannies, children and visitors all come to life as you peek through the past of this gorgeous estate. Thanks for always making it a joy to visit with you two.

I just want to take this video to tell you both how much I absolutely LOVE the intro music you two pick for your amazing videos every single time. You always find a piece that completely sets the tone and matches the intro scenery. I also love Sam's narration as it sets the adventure we are about to see as well. I also like it when Jess narrates!! Look forward every week to a new adventure!!

How beautiful is this house? Despite its disrepair it’s still so charming, the ornate woodwork and the patterned floors are lovely. The greenhouse conservatory room was amazing too! I do hope some of the remaining furniture goes to a good home! Thank you Sam and Jess for brightening up my Monday evening! Xx

This place was beyond words!!I can not imagine just one family living there, unless they also had extended family living there as well. This place was just stunning. So much left behind, that was sad. I am like you Jess, I would be out in the green house all the time. There is so much there that could be donated and put to such good use instead of sitting there rotting away. Poor Jess, I was snacking on avocado and tomato and had to put it down because I felt so bad with your stomach rumbling, lol. Fantastic video, thank you.

I loved this mansion! It wasn't the most elaborate that you've toured but it was so interesting. I don't think I will ever get over or understand why people just leave a place that obviously housed so many and then they are just all gone. Where do they go and why?! I wish there was a way to find out the story behind these places. It's hard to watch other explorers after watching you two because y'all are so much better than anyone else at what you do! Stay safe and have fun 🥰

A lot of the time it's when someone dies and there are legal feuds so the property and contents are on hold. Taxes and upkeep accrue and become overwhelming for whoever were to take over the estate.

Watching these videos reminds one of just how fast life passes us by. In the blink of an eye. And, for all their wealth, they take nothing with them and it is left behind to rot. That’s why I always say, if anyone wants any material possession I own, I gladly give.
Breaks my heart they didn’t at least donate that stuff to charity.
Also, there is a female spirit in there. Mid 20’s maybe. I pick up on that stuff, unfortunately.
You need some wellies for the basement. I think that’s what you call them. We call them mudders or rain boots.

The Print of a blindfolded woman being led by a pig on a leash is by a very, ( in his time), controversial artist ; Félicien Victor Joseph Rops was a Belgian artist associated with Symbolism and the Parisian Fin-de Siecle. He was a painter, illustrator, caricaturist and a prolific and innovative print maker.

Most Brilliant yet Sam & Jess!
The History left in that wonderful property was breathtaking. I can’t imagine the mix of emotions you felt being there looking at everything. Knowing that you are touching all the personal possessions of the people who had once been there. Servants quarters just left as they were. Children’s play rooms - could almost hear the kids playing. Well impressed Sam & Jess! I would not be able to leave I think. Wow. Just Wow!

What an extraordinary video! The mansion was overwhelming on so may levels. The artwork, sculptures, furnishings, the number of kitchens and living rooms, etc. While many rooms appeared untouched, there were rooms that were obviously forgotten and in pronounced decay. Like rotted out patches in the upper level ceilings. I think there were family members trying to archive rooms, or organize to pack up. And some rooms looked like things were intentionally spilled out all over the floor. Because there were bedrooms jammed with personal item that were dated for decades, maybe that room was lived in for many years by one person or a couple. Since you aired this video, has anyone come forward claiming to know the family? You both did an excellent job recording it, including details like postcards, cigar boxes, and the countless pieces throughout the estate. And loved your Amsterdam trip! So much to talk about!

Spiders were always living in/on boats--especially Sailboats. "Spider Opportunists," use the boat to build webs and filter the breeze across the water. Ever noticed the HUGE amount of Bugs at water's edge? Texas summers are Buggy; Gnats, "Skeeters," Blister bugs (mint green, delicate moth that packs a wallop-bite!) You get the idea. Bugs, water source, dock and Spiders. They DO like to be warm and dry, same as human beings.
NOTE: By the by, Your and Sam's Explores are favorited by many friends, family, we pass the word! One thing, though. We LOVE your manner, calm ways, graceful movements, optimistic, happy explores! PLEASE, PLEASE protect yourselves, and wear MASKS. People with seriously big houses often do not bother to get rid of things. You & I have to get rid of things we might have collected as teenagers for example, or things left by grandparents, or clothes we do not wear any longer, but they just leave things in a room they do not really need to use. So things can accumulate over centuries. Over times things build up & unless you have lots of servants to help keep things organised things become very messy.

So much history left to rot… makes me sad, but also so incredibly curious as to what happened to all those people. So many questions!

Happy Birthday Sam! The spiders were the dog’s revenge! That’s where he went off to… to get his friends in revenge for Sam shutting the door in his face. 😆😉
