I'm confused. You applied permatex on the top flat surface to the end of the oil pan that faces the passenger side, however, that end of the oil pan makes contact with the engine on the outer wall and not the top flat surface. Did you go back and redo it? 3:57

I noticed this as well. The sealing surface on the timing cover appears to be on the side of the oil pan, not he top like he indicated.
Does the 1.6 liter go by this same process or is it different.
Do you need to drop the transfer case to change gasket?
