Nice job
Great set up and you didn't even half to get a trailer.
hey man that 5.5 gpm pump does not need a buffer tank?
Slick setup man! I finally upgraded from a 2x10 wood shelf on the side rails for 3 reels. Found a stainless steele restaurant prep table for cheap and cut and fabricated them as a slick hose reel shelf. Thanks for your video!
Still working bro
I'm alive bro. Just been dealing with some stuff.
What kind of 12v ball valve are you using
Whats the best way to get fittings?
Nice bro.So the tanks are 35 gallon from?? TS??
What size bulk head fitting did you use? You can use SH without soap but not soap without SH lol :)
Love that your using the Predators man!!
I just came across your channel and subscribed! Nice set up!
Hey thanks for watching. Got ideas for some better structured and edited videos coming up.
Could you breakdown what pumps you used for these? I am disabled and want to build a setup for my sons so they can make some money while in highschool. I like how clean and simple this is and somewhat budget friendly 😂. I actually found your videos looking for guides on building a gas softwash setup, so thanks for the dedication and info man. New subscriber here
Hey I have covered this information in my rebuild video. Just look for it, was last winter
@@dr.downstream1151 looking thru the videos now. Thanks again
Man, I saw your truck setup on a FB group and was really impressed. I’ve been in business about a year and have had several upgrades already, but this is definitely my new goal by March. Thank you for sharing! I don’t completely understand the plumbing of everything, though. Is there any way you could do a video with a plumbing diagram, explaining the flow from the tanks to the proportioner to the machine + the different connectors?
gah I missed this comment until now. Yes I will work on this.
@@dr.downstream1151 yes please thank you
Nice clean setup
Nice set up bro hope mine looks like that one day. Only bad thing about putting the soap in the SH tank is itll breakdown the SH a lot faster.
I had always thought that too, but with the 35 gallon tank it doesn't sit around long enough to go bad.
Only if you use DAWN lol :)
Nice setup and detailed video. 💪🏿✊🏿
Can you please explain the proportioner a bit better? where does each end go and how all the plumbing works..
I tell you what, I need to push a fresh video out anyway so I'll make one on this subject this weekend at some point.
Nice rig brother!
Love the channel name man!
Once your done soaping how do you just rinse with your setup?
push a button on my remote control to turn the soap off 😃

How you like the 3/4 hose. I have 5/8 flexzilla now was gonna upgrade to 3/4 flexzilla but I think I like how yours goes flat looks light to pull. Thoughts. Tku
I was running 5/8" supply hose my first two years. When I saw the Zero-G 3/4" I jumped on it. Night and day difference my dude. Very much worth it!
Come on now ..got the blue balls over here...any new videos coming out ?! Haha
Dr Downstream! Have you ever had any issues with people trying to grab anything out the back of your truck? I live in that type of neighbor hood anyone will steal anything they can see no matter what.
Do you guys recommend I purchase a complete soft washing system or build my own for cheaper?
Great setupt. I am new to the industry and am in the process of building out a softwash setup. My question is can I use the same 3/8 hose for pressure washing and softwashing or do i need to have a 5/8 to softwash
I use 1/2" line from the tank all the way to the nozzle.
Nice setup! Thumbs up also on Mover dog aka KenCo.
Hey I have a Simpson direct drive 4gpm 4200psi pressure washer and looking to add a buffer tank like yours using twin siamese 55 barrels. I believe you mentioned having a tank issue initially with soap, did you have it with the water/sh tanks? Is that also why you had to raise the water tank 12in above your direct drive washer pump? Just wondering if you could explain the plumbing setup background for gravity feeding a direct drive washer. I read the rule of thumb is to double the size of the pump water intake hose size. Thoughts? Thx!
So you take the system apart in the winter? Any issues with rust having it uncovered or is the truck garaged?
Yes, when winter hits I take apart the machines and hose reels out and store them in my garage. Only the tanks stay in the back. Unfortunately my garage is too small to stuff my Tundra into, which makes me sad.
@@dr.downstream1151 I am in that exact same situation. Hardly have any garage room…would love to have a 2car garage to fit a truck or small trailer Into
Hi,
Was your 2500 psi @ 5.5 gpm pressure washer a belt drive? Interesting that the pump and run off a direct drive without changing the rpms on the motor. Or maybe that's for the belt tension. Is the 35 gallon water tank enough for a 5.5 gpm? I have a 65 gallon and it works great when I use my surface cleaner.
That a nice setup for a pick up truck
Hey thanks for tuning in. Yeah my original machine was a belt drive, but I had constant issues with belt tension and eating belts. Turns out they installed the pullys wrong at the factory and they weren't aligned exactly. So like every 6-8 weeks I was replacing belts. It was REALLY annoying to say the least.
At the beginning of the 2021 season I swapped over to a gear reduction unit. It's been 100% hassle free, and I've seen reports of guys getting1000 hours plus from their gear reduction units before overhaul.
Really the complaints I've seen related to them is that they leak oil. But imo I think that can be traced back to improper installation and not having the o-ring seated properly.
How did you design the wood stand for the hose reels? I need to build one that doesn't need to be bolted to bed
Is a honda 190F (15 hp) big enough to be a good high pressure washer?
Awesome! Where do you get your little boxes for things like the remote receive/LEDs? And what is the black reel with the blue cord/hose on the left? Is that an electric extension cord?
Hey 👋 look on Amazon for electronics project boxes. You'll see all sorts of options for around $10. Same with the LEDs and lighted button, just cheap Amazon stuff.
Oh and that blue line on the little reel is 200 feet of hose for the waterfed pole.
Can you post a like to that hand hose reel for WFP
@@wash713 oh it's just a repurposed extention cord reel
@@dr.downstream1151 Thanks that’s what I was thinking
What kind of pump are you using for the soft wash with the Predator 212?
Why 5/8 and not 1/2 softwash hose?
Less parasitic drag, more volume. I've used both now and the 5/8" is noticeably superior.
Looks good. Curious about your 35 gallon tanks. I find my 100 gallon tanks could be bigger lol. How often are you filling the 35s? Also, I know everyone has their own methods, something to consider is actually separating your soap and sh. I only use soap on roofs. No soap on siding. Rinsing is 10x faster, costs are less per wash, no issues with windows. Wash on bro
I've never really needed more than 35 gallons in a single day. The one time I knew I was going to need more I just put a couple cases of liquid chlorine in the backseat of my truck and filled the tank onsite as needed. But what I've noticed is I use WAY less SH now that I don't batch mix from a bucket. Nothing is wasted at the end of a job by being thrown out.
Where did you buy those tanks if i may ask?
Do you have a link for the small reel. I bought a 28inch wide reel and it's overkill

@@dr.downstream1151 i mean the GP reel, the small one with the grey hose, its small and can hold 200ft of hose?
@@cleanmaxexteriorpowerwashing Oh. Yeah it's listed as a 150' reel but in reality it holds 200' just fine, that's what I keep on mine.
Trying to figure out how to mount my hose reels to my truck side rails
Bolt em.
@@dr.downstream1151 it doesn’t need support from the reel to the bed?
@@easternsoftwash Yes I built mine from 2x4's coated in bedliner
What pressure washers are you using just wandering why do you have two pressure washers
Looking for Insight and advice. I've been watching a lot of SoftWash videos over the last week, and I've got a glimmer of hope but I'm noticing many of the youtuber's have affiliate links, and or sell cleaners/chemicals/products, or systems, and I'm wondering if a Starter Upper can make money with the Actual Soft Washing of houses, or is the money coming from selling systems, chemicals, and youtube ads.
I just would hate to invest into a truck, a system, and a year or two of my life for something that doesn't manifest into actual money and a career, I'd hate to put my loves ones and myself through that. I'm looking for honest answer from someone in the know. Thank you and I appreciate it.
You can make money even as just a side gig. Where is your market?
@@BornOfAsh You won't make as much money down south if you are only pressure washing. I don't just use my equipment for washing houses. You can get creative. This year I'll be offering premium lacquer staining for woodwork and pavers sealing. Just stay in your lane and do a few things on a professional level. Word of mouth will help you, just do the work.
You'll get what you put into it. The more work you do the more work will find you. Working for yourself isn't for the lazy, that's really the only trick to it. Networking saves you a lot of footwork.
what kind of pressure hose do you recommend to me. I´m doing a new set up truck and Id like to have the best option in pressure hose
Hey Dr.
will a gas Harbor freight water pump work?
on your general pump hose reel. you downstream bleach through that steel manifold??? If so, how does that hold up
Alot of guys use them.I have had one for 2 years now and its solid.Just rinse after every wash.
Are the insides holding up good on your GP hose reel with running a 12v through it and stronger mixes?
I've ran the 150' reel since spring of 2019 with no issues other than a replaced swivel. The inside of the reel is pretty gross looking at this point but it's held up so far. I flush everything after using SH.
@@dr.downstream1151 Thanks. I just got one for my pressure hose and was wondering how it would hold up to sh. 👍
@@jonboysprowash7845 I think you'll be just fine. Nothing in this industry lasts. My buddy had his brand new titan reels fail in less than 3 months. GP reels seem to work just fine and are like $200 or less. Just flush everything out after running chem as much as it's possible.
@@dr.downstream1151
Did your friend titans hose reel have a steel manifold or stainless? Just curious if that helps on the hose reel inside feed tube.
What is the box with the strobe called? With the remote valve?
They are called "project enclosure boxes" on Amazon, I think I got it for like $8.
what are the dimensions of your truck bed?
I think it's 66" wide by 78" long, or whatever the bed size is for a second gen Tundra.
I am copying your setup with 150 foot of softwash hose and a 18 hp Kohler engine 5.5 gpm pump my only issue is my Water hose is flexzila which I have no place to put and I guess I will have to get a zero g hose. Would your recommend the zero g
Definitely. I started out using flexilla but it was heavy and required a hose reel.
3/4" Zero-G is the bombdiggity.....IF you can find it in stock because I've been trying for weeks now to get more and it seems to be out of stock everywhere.
@@dr.downstream1151 the zero g 3/4 IS great, I love it. I use it as a feed hose for my pure water system I built for window cleaning.
Looking to start my soft washing business spring of 2022. How much did this setup cost you? Any references for someone just starting out?
Where do u rent a hot water???
any decent equipment rental place should have one. I rent a towable unit when I do my commercial jobs.
You mean 390 not 690 lol
woops good catch!
hows that GP steel reel doing on soft washing? i just ordered one but kinda thinking on returning it and buying a titan
What capacity are those reels for?
they are 150 and I think 250 reels.
@@dr.downstream1151 thank you im about to buy the 250 one. My first reel, was worried it was abit overkill and big. But i guess I can grow into it.
@@SharrodVisuals the gp 150' reel holds 200' just fine. I keep two 100' lengths on it and it's good for 95% of the bouses I do.
@@dr.downstream1151 oh thank you! I might go the 150 ft one then. It'll fit nicer as I have a small truck.
@@dr.downstream1151 I wonder why it says 150ft if it can hold 200ft...
