- Kinda Jumbled but the parts are all here. For my fuel rail you need flex fuel injectors. I recommend buying fuel rails that already have the injectors to make is easier. I found that out the hard way.
Intagram @Endlesswishlist6.0 , not @Endlesswishlist like i put in the video but you will still probably find me.
Parts: These are just the first sights I saw, they might be cheaper on other sights.

Just picked up a NNBS intake for my 5.3 5speed nbs rcsb. Searched for some info and found this gem of a video and cleared up a few questions I had. I appreciate the info, the video, and the parts list! Subscribed!
Sounds great, That's great you got it running. Good job!
Best vid on this swap I’ve seen by far👍🏻 Thanks
Super helpful video thank you much
Good information
Thanks
Congrats Man! its good to finally see the beast running! it had been a while lol great videos like always, and we need these 20+ min videos!
Thanks bud, this was made possible because of you. Your knowledge and you motivating me to do it!
Dude most informative video on this topic thanks !!!
Great content as usual
Finally someone who made a video of this intake swap!
Truck sounds nice
Sounds great 🇺🇸
Hopefully the tuner can make it sound better. I want more chop
Woot woot 🙌🏼
Thanks for the info ¡
This channel is gonna blow up one day
I hope you are right!
I hope so to, I love the mods it’s everything I want to do To my 06 crew cab z71. For all us Z71, 5.3, 6.0 truck guys your channel is great content. Keep it up bud, happy new year!
That's great, I'm doing y 02 Denali but I want to use the drive by wire tb 4 bolt just need the connector adapter.
Thank you for the videos. I appreciate the part numbers and solutions to problems.
I watched a couple videos on these intakes and I keep missing the part on why the crossover that came with it suddenly doesn't work anymore?
Did you notice a difference after swapping to the TBSS ?
Part # for the injector adapters ?
Do they make these raise in NON flex-fuel? Anyone know the part number?
if i swap a nnbs intake to my nbs can i use the nnbs intake cover?
I have a question I'm trying to do the same thing on my 2001 tahoe, you used a 92mm throttled body are u able to use a 102mm
On mine I decided to wait til next month im gonna order the LS next block and do a 427 4.125 bore x 4.000 stroke with the TSP 224/228 cam and a set of AFR 230cc heads not sure how big ill need the injectors to be lol
That will be pretty bitchen!
Do you happen to know the part number for the spacers on the injectors
I don’t. I took them off. But if you just look them up on summit racing they have a couple different lengths
Always good to see someone building a gas v8. I have a 6.0 and enjoy your videos. Hard to find videos that aren't about dmax
Man I really do appreciate your videos. Learned a lot from them. I inherited my dads 2000 Silverado 5.3 and it had sat for nearly 5 years and this past spring/summer I've been slowly learning how to work on the truck and fix all the problems its had. But its sentimental to me so thats why ive been putting all the time/money into it.
That’s awesome, these are great trucks and run forever. I really want a new truck but I have put so much time into this thing I don’t want to get rid of it
What is the gain from doing this? 10whp
My truck did the exact same thing on the first start up, and still does somewhat. I can't figure out what the issue is. It wasn't doing this before and after a minute or two it runs fine. Everything is connected properly...any ideas on who to trouble shoot this ?
Same problem haven’t figured it out yet did you ever solve it?
How much hp tq we talking about ? Thanks
To the wheels 315/320
Awesome vid! I just ordered myself everything for this swap. What catch can did you use for the PCV though?
Can you use your stock fule rail ?
It can be done but they have to be heavily modified. They do not just bolt on
Would that holly tb work good on my 2011 5.3
Can you do this without running flex fuel?
Absolutely. I don’t have flex fuel
Endless Wishlist just the question I needed answered. I’m putting a tbss intake into my Lq9. If I use 12613412 (flex fuel) injectors would I have to run flex fuel or could I use normal gas.(93)
You can run normal fuel. They just flow more then the regular injectors
Did That Vette Filter Hold Up Well On The Fire wall.....I Was Thinking Of Putting Mine In The Engine Bay As well
I didn’t like it. It kinked the hoses. I went to an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.
Did you have to buy the Holley iac motor and the TPS sensor for the throttle body to work?
No, I got the throttle body that accepts factory sensors
When you did the swap did you hear whine? Cause I did the swap and I hear a whine and I don't know if it could be the filter/regulator or the fuel pump cause I checked for any vacuum leaks and nothing
Yea it’s the throttle body. The iac passage letting air through. It bugs me
What do i need to swap this intake onto a 2006 lm7 truck. Help i am so confused. So far i know i need an x link, but what else?
I think that’s it. Your fuel line should plug right into the tbss fuel rail. And then depending on injectors you might need adapter plugs
Endless Wishlist i think my mechanic said i had flex fuel injectors. Not sure if 2006 lm7 came with them or not. And what about fuel pressure do i need the vette filter?
Endless Wishlist i think he is supplying fuel rails with it. So im not sure if that will change my setup unless hes supplying same rails as stock. Or maybe we can swap stock rail n injector setup over
Do you have Any issues with your iac? Or drivability? I have a 92mm FiTech tbss intake swap on an cammed 6.0 swapped 02 extended cab. Using LS2 36lb injectors.
What size spacers for the injectors?
Great video!!
I’m in the process of doing a 6.0 lq9 off a 02 Escalade. This swap will be going in my obs. I bought a wire harness for my swap but injector plugs are for like the tbss/nnbs injectors. I know there’s adapters for the plugs for around 100 bucks.. but I found a 08 tbss intake for 200 so for 100 bucks more I get 25 hp more (what I’ve heard) so I went ahead and bought this intake (just yesterday)
My truck has 2 fuel lines which one is a return I believe. So my question here is , the tbss intake only has for 1 fuel line can I do what you did in this video with that fuel filter cus I seen it has for 2 lines in the back or I just cancel out the return line?? Or should I just use me lq9 fuel rail with the tbss injectors?? Or just stay with my stock lq9 and buy the adapters for the injector plugs and swell this tbss intake?? What y’all recommend ?
Thx in advance 👍🏼
Awesome that sounds sweet. I have another video where I installed a fuel pressure regulator and got rid of the corvette filter. I have all the parts in the video as well
Endless Wishlist thx for quick reply.. also I’m going with a cable throttle body I have a adapter to use 3 bolt throttle to 4 bolt intake so I can use my stock one. Or should I just buy a 4 bolt cable throttle body that I can also go bigger
Endless Wishlist can you post the link to that video. Thx
Endless Wishlist I got my wix fuel filter. I see it has like a ground cable. Does it need to be bolt it on to the body for it to get ground?
In other words does the filter need ground?
Where did you end up connecting the vacuum line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator on the stock fuel rail?
I didn’t use it. I went with an aftermarket pressure regulator
That’s where I’m confused, what did you do with the Line that does connect to it, the corvette style regulator doesn’t have a vacuum line and I get that but you’ll have still have the line that went to it
I threw it away. The tbss intake does not have an open port for it anyway. And my regulator doesn’t need a vacuum reference.
Was the map sensor from your old truck intake or already on the tbss one? I just ordered a new tbss intake from Glenn's and I dont think it has a map sensor included and not sure if my old one will fit or do I need to order a tbss one?
I used my old map sensor. The wiring isn’t long enough so I pulled it out of the harness a little and taped it back up.
I have a complete ls2 with everything do i still need to buy the Corvette fuel filter?
You need to regulate pressure somehow. Wether it’s the corvette filter or something else.
What spacers did u get for the stock injectors
Hey man about that filter.. do you have to get it tuned to make it non return or does that filter trick the pump into thinking it’s still on return?
You don't need a tune with the C5 filter. BUT you will not to ensure that it is producing the 58psi it is rated for.
Are the 8.1 injectors and the stock 5.3 injectors the same length? When you installed the 5.3 injectors back on the fuel rail with the injector spacers, was there no more gap between the fuel rail where it bolts up to the manifold?
Yes they are the same length. And when I used the spacers there was a huge gap. The bolts that held it down had like 1/2” gap. I would never run it that was. I just wanted to here it run.
I'm about to do this swap on my 05 silverado...I found the solution! The fuel rail is the problem. I bought the same fuel rail that you bought. It will not work with our truck injectors cause they are too short. But if you buy the 12660709 fuel rail that comes stock with the 07-09 trailblazer ss, the skirts that connect to the top of the injector are longer! And the tbss truck manifold uses the same exact length injector like in our trucks but just a different connector. You don't have to buy different injectors or adapters! I'll send you some pictures if you want to see the difference of the 2 fuel rails.
@@bradenconrad8390 hey would you mind sending me a pic and info on this
@@bradenconrad8390 ...huge thx for the 12660709 tip!
i'm trying to do this, and cam/springs/pushrods/lifters/oil pump/trunion/etc on a budget while i've got the engine out of my '71 ElCo to freshen/upgrade.
@@Krazie-Ivan heck yeah! I almost gave up swapping my stock manifold to a tbss manifold. Frustrating as hell but glad I was able to figure it out finding the correct fuel rail without using adapters.
Hey did you keep 2 fuel filters or did you remove the factory one ?
With the holly sniper what did u do to the coolant hoses that connected to the old throttle body
Nope. The hose that goes to the radiator is long enough to just connect to the steam vent on the head
@@EndlessWishlist thank u very much
Hey what's the difference between the tbss intake and intake off 2010 tahoe.. are the diameters the same?
Yes I believe those are the same. Just the 2010 intake might have the rectangular runners instead of cathedral runners
I have a 2010 tahoe intake and it's a cathedral .. nice video man I have all bolt ons stuff except the intake that's my last add on
Where did you get your air idle control valve from ?
Summit racing. It takes a factory iac
Ive never really heard about doing this swap. What are the benefits of this swap? What did you do it for?
The throttle body is a lot bigger. Stock is 78mm and these are 90mm. So it allows for a lot more air
DUDE!!! PLEASE READ!!! I have a lot of questions since I’m trying to rebuild my 6.0 lq4 in my Yukon Denali. I have CAI and catback exhaust and black bear tune from Justin. I just purchased the tbss intake with a throttle body of my choice even though I should’ve gotten the Holley sniper. However, I’m confused about the fuel rails for the tbss intake. Do they need to be flex fuel??? I’ve been seeing a lot of very similar fuel rails for the tbss that aren’t flex fuel. Does it matter which one I get? And what kind of 6.0 do you have? Looks like it was an lq4 or lq9.
No mine is not flex fuel and it does not have to be. But the rails need the longer cups if you go that route. That’s the parts that is holding me up. And yes I have the lq4 engine.
Endless Wishlist thanks for the quick reply I’ll post a video eventually on my tutorial and make sure to mention your help. Definitely using your build as a huge reference so I’m looking forward to the updates. By the way have you tested your 0-60? Mine is 6.8s
Well good im glad I could help a little and thanks for putting my name out there. And no I have never timed my 0-60.
So the only real info I have is mine have the shorter bowls where the injectors plug in. The shorter bowls are for flex fuel injectors which are longer. If you want to use normal injectors then you need the rails with the longer bowls. I’m having a hard time finding a number as well.
what brand and size are those wheels?
I have a 05 gmc sierra and i wanna do the same swap do i need injectors adapters for the furl injectors
Not if you get the injectors that come with the intake.
@@EndlessWishlist the one i se on offer up there flex fuel injectors ? Shouldn't be no difference then my stock injectors?
Flex fuel injectors are better. They flow more
@@EndlessWishlist so better gas also huh
@@EndlessWishlist This might be a dumb question but can I run the flex fuel injectors even if I plan on running 93 octone gas?
Of ya want to flow more fuel the stock truck fuel rales flow more fuel
I agree they out flow the Holley fuel rails
Did you have to tune it with the new throttle body and intake? I recently did this swap and installed a 92mm throttle body but Its giving me a p0507 code (rpm higher than expected) any input would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Yes definitely. Because you are giving it a lot more air than it was with a stock set up. And thank you I will!
Man thanks a lot brotha! I’ll go ahead and schedule a retune now, Thanks for the fast reply.
By saying ur rpm was high what was it at?
Great video! What steam port kit is that?
Thank you, I believe it is the truck flow kit
Did you have to use a sniper IAC and TPS from Holley?
I'm pretty sure you can pull your old ones off the TB and reuse them on the Holley. Buy the TB without them and see if the ones off your old TB will fit.
@@dellguy6319 yeah I know, I’ve done the swap, however my IAC is making a whistling noise common with the Holley TBs I just discovered, I Have both actually. I know they both fit, it’s just no matter what they both produce the whistle. I have video of it on my channel.
@@chrisgore2849 I just talked to my tuner about this and he said he usually adjusted the IAC back enough to stop the whistle. If not he will modify the TB by punching a hole so it doesn’t do it. I run a Fi-Tech TB from Summit and it doesn’t whistle. He said the Fi-tech TB usually doesn’t whistle….
@@dellguy6319 besides going back to stock, that seems to be my only option. I don’t know how to adjust the IAC, but I could still a hole to see if it does it. Really would like to adjust it.
@ Endless wishlist do you have any aftermarket parts you would want to sell
Just a vvt cam
Can i go tbss on stock 5.3
Yes
I have a 2001 Silverado 1500HD with the 6.0 already in it. I am trying to get the best bang for my buck for hp/torque. I want to focus mostly on performance at this point. Only thing I’ve done to it so far is air intake and new dual exhaust. I plan on making catless, but what would you recommend where to start? I have 130k miles. My tires are LT305 55R 20’s and currently 3” lift.
Thanks for the videos man! Great work!
I would recommend gears first. I know it’s not very appealing because it’s expensive and doesn’t sound cool like a cam but with that size and how heavy your truck is, it would help a lot. Other things like electric fans, a cam and a tune would wake it up too.
Endless Wishlist what gears would you recommend? Do you have a particular brand? I saw for cam you did Texas Speed, correct?
I would get 4.10 or 4.56, leaning more towards 4.56. Check out BTR truck cams. They are awesome and their cam package is cheaper.
Endless Wishlist thanks for the tips! Look forward to seeing more of your videos! Anymore advice is more than welcome!
Thank you! And if you aren’t apposed to pulling the trans, a higher stall converter will go great with a cam. I love my stall. I’ll try and put together a video going over small to large performance upgrades.
How did you adapt map sensor
Used the one that my 02 came with. Just pulled the wires out of the harness a little so they would reach
@@EndlessWishlist how did you fasten or secure it in new intake?
Pretty sure mine just snapped in. I’ll have to took. But unless you boost it you won’t have a problem. It’s under vacuum.
Are you doing this to a 5.3?
No it’s a 6.0
What iac did you use
Factory one and Holley one. No difference between the two
Wow how did you use the factory one I have the the same throttle body 90mm factory does not fit brother
Do you think this intake would be worth putting on a 5.3 with a mild cam and tune
Yes I do
Can you use tbss rails and tbss injectors on 5.3 silverado 01???
Yes but you will have to regulate fuel pressure somehow
Endless Wishlist by regulate do you mean just adding a corvette fuel filter???
Yes or like I did and a fuel pressure regulator. Either will work great.
Endless Wishlist ok, what’s the reason you switched from a corvette filter to the one you have now? Was it becuz the lines were hitting against the firewall ???
Yes exactly. But there are tons of different routes you can take.
Its not a TBSS intake it is a Gen 4 LS truck intake as found on isuzu npr even.
Please dont call the trucks nbs or nnbs. Gmt400 is 87-1999/2000. Gmt800 is 1999-2007. Gmt900 is 2007-2013.
It's literally a TBSS intake. This is what the TBSS had in em. Therefore it is a TBSS intake
87-99 is obs 99-06 is nbs 07-13 is nnbs?
What kind of spacer did you use for the fuel rail
I don’t remember. I ended up taking them off and getting the correct fuel rail
Okay thanks video was really helpful
Do u need to do anything to do a throttle body swap ? From stock to 90?
Yes. My tbss intake manifold takes the 90mm. The factory manifold won’t accept it.
What did u have to do I have a 2012 Silverado 5.3
