- In this video I am flow testing fuel injectors from LS bases truck engines. I am comparing the flow between factory and decapped injectors. Also comparing standard 28lb truck injectors and Factory GM Truck Flex fuel injectors, capped and decapped.

Just recently found out GM used several different sized gas fuel injectors! You shouldn’t mix & match part numbers here’s why:
1999 Gas 4.8/5.3 has 21.8# 58 psi
1999-2000 4.8/5.3/6.0 24.8# 58 psi
2001-07 Gas used 25.2# 58 psi
2002-07 L59 flex 33# only 50 psi
This information explains why people are having different flow results with their decapped truck injectors. The part numbers need to match and the later models will flow more.

Put some injector cleaner in your tank and cycle them?
I have seen some people doing the test with just dc no pulse so thats good but you need a timer that is going to be constant and also i believe they have a screen that is replaceable in them that should probably e replaced

The spray pattern isn’t going to matter since the spray will only be a couple of inches long once the injectors are installers

thanks man for sharing your experiments, i have question about the rpm and its equivalent pulse rate, so if my idle speed about 650 rpm what is the frequency or how can i adjust the pulse rate of the injectors under test is there any chart or table for this calculation without going to the complication of horse power calculations.

Decapping is a free way to run a bigger injector for a forced induction set up. Some injectors this size equivalent can cost up to $600.
Decapped is not as well atomized
Looks like a spray pattern to me. just more of the same... they're not horrible but yet they're not great... acceptable I would guess.
what would happen if i pit a non felx fuel pump in my flex fuel suburban? i do not run e85 at all

I have flex fuel as well but never run E85 in part because it is hard to find. But I was told not to use "regular" fuel injector cleaner on flex fuel systems. But I can't even find an fuel injector cleaner specific to flex fuel systems. Interested to know if you can shed any light on these issues.
The pumps are different so u can't. I use sea foam and never have any problems
Spray pattern isn't worth all that much. The fuel heats up and vapourises as it enters the port and back of the valve. Then as long as you have enough spark in the cylinder you can light off a garden hose injector.
Are you running a 50% duty cycle on the pulsed test?
I believe it was around 45-50hz cycles per second.
after decaping the injector before putting them back on the intake/fuel rail do you put the little black plastic cap back on the injector or do you just install them without it but with the oring only?
Yes pintle cap stays on.

@@BlaserBuilds getting some that says stock flex fuel but 42 lbs/ hr but yes my stock ones are 24.8 lbs/hr not sure if flex fuel data correct.
There isn't that much of a difference, considering they are flowing more fuel,

when fuel is injected wont the spray patter be broken by the inside of intake?? like the injector will spray and run along the walls?? so who gives a fuck about a spray pattern?
to much fuel with decapped ... why do i need tht much gas going into the piston? i dnt think it will run better
J Dizzle Cheap way to increase injector flow rate for forced induction (Turbo etc)... Sets that flow equivalent to these can cost $600+... This is basically free with some elbow grease.

you have to set the injector attributes in the ECU for lbs/hour. The ECU will then adjust how long an injector is ON.
