Hey Everyone welcome back to a super exciting episode of Matts RV Reviews… Today we are taking a look at a Xplore x22! This is a true Overland or RV this travel trailer is one of the best constructed that I’ve ever seen and it is actually rated to be in temperatures below zero -40° to be exact which is absolutely crazy… Now that is the manufacturer that claims that not me LOL but I know you will love this RV!

I will patiently wait until Matt does the Safari Condo Alto F2114, although it might be a while until he gets to it, especially since I think it is only sold in Canada and they are now taking orders for 2025. But it is the ultimate lightweight camper with dual axles and only 2400 lb.

If you haven’t seen ROA’s factory tour of Imperial Outdoors you should head over to their channel to see how these are made. They walk you through the design philosophy and materials used to construct these units. It is quite impressive. I would be buying this if I didn’t have a Tacoma and I even considered trading in my rig to have the capacity to tow this. I am very impressed and these are the only American trailers I have found that are on par with Bruder and Kimberly caravans. It is good to see quality, American made trailers that are true 4 season rigs that are capable of going anywhere the tow vehicle can pull it.

OK... This thing looks sharp for an overland trailer... My only concern would be the 30/30 fresh and gray water tanks... That just seems really small for a unit of this size. The only way that could work realistically is if the shower were a recirculating unit, and that would present its own set of problems... The size of that whole bathroom just didn't seem really useable the way it was set up, unless you are under 6' tall and weigh less than 150lbs... But then again, I guess most of their customers would be... I do like the quality of the cabinets and the door latches and hidden hinges! Very well made with solid wood. I can hardly wait to see what you bring us next Matt and Will...

This is a perfect vehicle for a long trip to Alaska! I totally disagree about the dislike in the bathroom and the suggestion of less countertop space. All I need a bathroom for is to do my business. But I will use that countertop space to the max! Countertop space rules! But totally understand that this wouldn't work for bigger people.

I love the idea of a trailer that is this well insulated and built to go places other trailers can’t. At the same time, it seems odd to me that they would go all out to make this weatherproof and then sacrifice things that make long-term camps (which is really when weather becomes an issue) comfortable. Seems counter-intuitive. Add a few feet to the length (and I get why they don’t do that-off-roading is harder on longer trailers) and make the bathroom bigger and add more storage for food and clothing. And yeah, admittedly I’m not really the market for these guys so pretty much ignore everything I just said. LOL.

What a great camper. I am no longer an overland camper but if I was, I could really go for this.
    So well made
The hydraulic lift system is fantastic
Cabinet locks-I wish my coach had them
    Dislikes-
That bath is too tight. Reconfigure somehow. If that long kitchen counter that connects to that “nightstand” or the nightstand was shorted a few inches that would help
Rear ladder looks stout but not easy to climb. Change to heavy duty tube perhaps.

love this one, i am a skinny person so that turd collector would probably be fine for me, i do not normally like radius showers either, but in this, i think it is perfect, bit bigger would be nice but not really doable without squashing toilet even more, could just get rid of bathroom sink totally, square shower against the one wall, that odd corner left over could be outside storage, toilet on other would solve both issues there, but just ideas, i myself would take it just as it sits, does not seem to need any real changes or additions, maybe more solar input, 200 watts is kinda weak but probably sufficient for most places, i would rather 1000, especially if in overcast areas where you do not get much sun all day to begin with.... suck up as much as you possibly can fast as you can while you can, or heavy cloud cover end up with 200 watts input from 1000 anyway, better than 40 watts out of 200. way higher priced above any budget i have, yes... but if i had that budget, i would probably choose this over a larger 5th wheel or other rather normal much larger ones in same price range.

Why do travel trailers manufacturers use precious space putting in a sink in the bathroom?? Am I the only one who feels the kitchen sink would suffice and the space better utilized for something else??

Nice unit, looks well built and ready to overland. But the standard plastic propane tank cover is a bit of an eye sore. For an otherwise overbuilt trailer.

I would love to have this trailer. Would live full time in it and exclusively boondock in the most wonderful places. The quality is great. But needs to be around $50,000. But it is impressive.

My guess is the lithium battery setup adds a lot to the cost, and since it's the price of the unit Matt and Wil reviewed, it would include the cost of the tent on top.

For an American company is really nice, but I’m sorry I can’t for the life understand why these companies don’t actually do research in WORLD TRAVELING HABITATS. There are 10-20ft long habitats built on UNIMOGS, MAN TGM/TGS, Mercedes’ AROCS etc….. and I’m telling you you can incorporate just a small amount of ingenuity to make this 10 times better for nearly 100k . But hey I’m just a key board warrior with no money to start a company so wtf do I know lmao
