He has a huge sense of wonder and is even childish, it's difficult even for the directors I bet convey this about the character in a balanced manner while maintaining the serious persona on Kiryu's at the surface.

Yeah... if you have never played a Yakuza game before, it is worth starting from beginning with 0. By the time you get through all of them, this new one will probably be cheaper and you will actually care for the narrative.
Kiryu is such an integral part of the series and based on the trailers he may or may not be reaching his end soon. You don't need to play the previous games given ichiban is gonna be mainly the protag (unless you didn't play 7) but I am sure they are gonna bring up how legendary Kiryu is and his background. You can play IW honestly and go back, so you get to see why Kiryu is hilariously strong and resilient
I would have bought this game already if it weren't for the fee for NG+. I think it's morally corrupt of SEGA to try and make us pay for part of the game. What's next? $15 for HDR? $15 to control sound? $15 for subtitles? $15 for Japanese voiceovers? $15 for extra saves? We're mostly buying a digital game that is not resellable for $70 - perhaps, they should be offering a $15 discount when launching games since there is no shipping, no physical media, no returns, etc, etc.

I'll enjoy the cut-scenes once they are up, but no way am I playing this game. If this is truly the last game with Kiryu, I have no idea why there are forcing OG fans to play this turn based. @@xtr.7662yeah I hope so. LAD games deserved more
Should I start from yakuza 0 or can I play this then go back ?
Play in any order
Yeah... if you have never played a Yakuza game before, it is worth starting from beginning with 0. By the time you get through all of them, this new one will probably be cheaper and you will actually care for the narrative.
You can start from 7 but then you'd miss a lot of context for Kiryu and other characters. Best to start all the way from 0.

Yakuza thrives on narrative dissonance if it truly bothers you, I highly recommend you look elsewhere.
Maybe the Kiryu voice isnt great but im all for getting some new voice actors working in general...im tired of hearing the same dozen voice actors doing the same few voices they got
Once new game + is part of the nase game and not a paod extra, i'll think about getting this.
You’ve since purchased the game, loves the game, and realized you didn’t want to play a second time. Cry more
Yongyea about to BLOCK gaming bolt
Lol YongYa is a disaster
Lol the call out on yong.
Two more days. 🙆♂️
As far as the "everyone speaks Japanese" thing goes, they subtly mention that you are in little Japan, so it would make sense people speak Japanese.
hmm i have a pc but i want to get it on ps4 should i?
If your pc is fairly modern the game will run better on it than ps4 so you should play it there
yeah i have a 3080, i just like console gaming better tbh. I bought it for pc and i really love it so far. My pc doesn't even get warm
I be wanting for a sale for this game new game plus being locked behind a paywall really took some of my excitement away
Would you actually use NG+ if it was someone that you unlock by finishing the game?
@@vladik87as someone that never does New Game plus, hiding the post game content and the Big Swell behind Day 1 DLC is lame
@@Clivetinker i agree that it’s lame, but isn’t that huge a deal. Yakuza always had Premium Adventure mode after completing the main campaign, which is post game shit. You can still do post game stuff.
Is druski in the game?
Yes
It will hurt, but I'm not buying this game until a heavy price drop. Sega put NG+ behind a paywall.
Sega did it with Like A Dragon for the JP version. Sega can't help themselves.
Were you actually going to play it twice? Did you play y7 twice?
@@PandaSoupGaming it doesn't matter if i wasn't going to play it twice because the people on reddit told me to be really really mad about it >:(
@@PandaSoupGaming yup
@@IMZ44 sure lmao
@@PandaSoupGaming as of now I see no point of buying it. Bad behavior I won't support.

i'm not sure about this buy if the NG+ is paywalled...
I'm waiting for a price drop. I love Y7 Like A Dragon, but I can't support Sega's lousy behavior.
@@IMZ44bandwagon
@@AnimeTrap69 nah homie, that's how I feel. I won't support Sega's lousy behavior.
@@DCKnight0077-jw4bw it's more than just that. It is locking away a critical feature that's always been accessible to the players.
Sega has a habit of doing this nonsense. The best thing I can do is not to buy the game at the moment.
will this come to Game Pass at some point?
Most likely it is in about 6-12 months
would be a 10 but nah
YongNAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Poor Yong Yea XD he sucks.
like a dragon infinite wealth is sega's last game on xbox because japan didn't like other yakuza games on xbox game pass
So why did they put them on if then if they don’t like gamepass seems kinda silly
Sega will abandon Xbox
@@mlgxxx808nope Sega is sticking on Xbox, just not putting their titles on gamepass as much. What are you on about lmaoo
@@mlgxxx808Sega is one of Xbox's closest Japanese partners right now. There are no indications that this relationship will end anytime soon.
@@DavidHosey1where is op getting his info? Is his dad phil spencer or head of sega
Not buying until game+ is free
6-12 months depending on sales including the DLC
Am I the only person who loves the Yakuza games but hates the change to turn based combat?
Given that Yakuza 7 is the most successful game in the series, I would say you're definitely in the minority
@@pramath1605 I tried getting into Y7 on 2 separate occasions and both times I would reach a point where I would get to a fight and my crew wasn’t strong enough to beat the opposition so I couldn’t advance the story. Very frustrating.

Imagine playing a yakuza game in english

@@cartoonvideos5 they make those!? LMAO
The writing in this review is awful it's all over the place and has no flow
Yakuza in English is a war crime.
Great game
If you play in English you deserve Yung Yea
Indeed
@michaelt1357 If you think about it this way, this is Kasuga's story not Kiryu's. So don't dwell too much on Kiryu's voice. As much as it pains us but everyone else still have good voice acting. Plus Zhao also carries the game as far as voice acting goes.
@@ScrotumBalls Robbie Daymond isn't good as Zhao in the slightest, he doesn't carry the eng dub at all.
If you can’t respect people’s decision to play in English, you deserve to be mocked and humiliated.
I'll enjoy the cut-scenes once they are up, but no way am I playing this game. If this is truly the last game with Kiryu, I have no idea why there are forcing OG fans to play this turn based.
For me, Yakuza 1,2 (PS2/PS3 HD), 3-6 are the best games in the series I replay constantly.
All these turn based games are not for me....they should of done a Gaiden 2.0 to finish the story with Kiryu if that is the plan. I don't think new fans care too much about Kiryu anyways...they are more interested in Ichiban.
Umm, why? Tons of people are fine with turn based, and it allows them to easily implement Kiryu into the story.
OG fans almost all love this style of game too, and almost all newcomers care more about Kiryu than Ichi. Don’t know what you’re on about lmaoo
@@DavidHosey1he is acting like a majority of these 'og' fans hate turn based and the new fans cant play the beat em up games. I literally played through the whole series after i played lad to prep for iw
Ilike the first one.... But im just at a point where im sick of the lazy turned based combat. Its just a cop out, slows the game down drastically, just enough already lazy devs.
Everyone should boycott this game or all ng+ in all upcoming games would be locked behind higher editions
NO
Nope.
LOL, NO!
I bought the ultimate edition for an amazing franchise like this i dont care
I'm not going to boycott it. But feel free to do so
