EVERY BOSS IN THIS GAME HAS TONS OF MOVES AND MOVES FAST. - NEW ENEMIES LIKE TONBERRIES AND TEMPLE COEURLS. - *Leviathan storyline is very poignant and the perfect last Eikon for Clive to beat* - LEVIATHAN EIKON MOVES ARE FUN AF, IT TURNS THE GAME INTO A FAST PACED LONG RANGE SHOOTER, AND THE DLC ENEMIES ARE MADE TO BE DEALT WITH HIM. @@apocalypse9199 I really like the fact that you get Ultima eikon, and the Kairos gate endgame is fun. Though I'm not sure I'll manage to get to level 20. For me, the DLC was already a 10 just for leviathan alone, and Kairos gate is just a fun bonus but more optional than anything. I think its intended more for the DMC hardcore gamers.
There's not much to discover in the dungeons as usual, but some of the chests in mysidia itself has the new feat upgrading accessories that are pretty good and significantly changes gameplay. Wish the base game's accessories are more like the ones in the two DLCs instead of just higher damage or less cooldown, but it is what it is.
Time Keeper was TOUGH!! And Leviathan was an EPIC 30-40 minute battle and truly satisfying after completing each of its 4 phases!! INCREDIBLE WAY to close Clive's journey 👏 10/10
Beating Leviathan on FF mode never felt so good. Sure it took two hours and I got kills a bunch times by Tsunami. But then I GOT GOOD. And wouldn’t it be weird if spoiler turns out to be Yu Yevon…..
I think if you complete Echoes of the Fallen, you get a side-quest at the end of The Rising Tides that not only ties both DLCs together but also gives to them a nice epilogue.
I wouldn't call an actually challenging dps check a cheap move. I wish Omega's was that hard tbf. His reality deleting move is so easily defeated I didn't even get close to triggering it. I like I had to try several times to beat Levi's Tsunami. Espacially since it's the last one.

I would have been completely satisfied if the devs just added the leviathan attack like the other eikons during the final fight, but I can also understand why Ultima would not even use leviathans power because he thought that eikon was tainted and unworthy.
Plot hole: Seeing as Leviathan was absorbed by Clive, shouldn't that have meant that the vessel i.e. Mythos was complete, thus meaning that Clive survived the final battle with Ultima?
It could be. However I understood the ending a bit differently. What I understood was that Clive using Ultima's power at the end was just too much magic for him. Remember that Ultima tried to get a hold of Clive back when Cid was alive, and Clive only had 2 eikon powers. So I am not entirely sure if getting Leviathan would have changed anything tbh
Finished it yesterday. This game has the best boss fights in the history of Gaming. The tech is cutting edge, the game engine is God tier. Gonna delete the save file just to fight Leviathan again😂
Well yeah, it's specifically the team for this game. CBU3 itself is still going as strong as ever with FF14 and Dawntrail. I imagine they'll want to take some time beefing up content for that before trying to start up a parallel project again.
@TheBLT883 the team is apparently going to be rejoining for a Yoshi P directed game that is to be lighter in tone. That's about all anyone knows since the majority of the devs (including Yoshi P) are working on the ff14 expansion right now.
If the fans want more they might. I think one of the devs or localization Koji Fox I think was interviewed about Dlc and he made an interesting remark...I still want a Dlc with a playable Jill.
Just 100% completed it and it was a great send-off for this game. Kinda sad this is it for 16 i would've loved to see some more Eikon fights against Alexander or Diabolos.
Ff16 was absolutely epic the boss fights can only be compared to god of war 3 and the power fantasy of all the different very powerful spells and power's you could attain where the coolest in any game I've played and it's rated M so it has way more violence and swearing and adult themes than any other FF game it has a very serious and adult tone to the story and the story itself was epic....FF16 is way better than rebirth like way way better.

I was disappointed that this didn’t alter the ending at all. Especially the part when you are battling Ultima and each using the Eikons I was expecting Leviathan to come out of no where and clock Ultma if anything but nope, same old ending. What a missed opportunity….
i LOVED my time with the rising tide, BUT. and its a big but, i didnt like how they handled leviathan story, it felt abit rushed, the other eikons we had a great introduction to and we saw them through alot of moments before we got to fight them, here the leviathan just... spawns after ''things happens'' and it didnt feel like you were building any hate/love relationship , like with kubka, or benedict, or even dion, every eikon had theyre time to shine, here leviathan didnt really, other than that, the boss fighr was amazing, the music was phenomonal and the fight weres were hard as heck
I mean it's kinda hard to "hate" them when Leviathan's Dominant was ultimately a victim of circumstance due others abusing their potential. So it's understandable that it is different from past Dominant bosses. Leviathan itself was just trying to do what it thought best out of an already terrible situation that spiralled out of control. Even it was an overreaction.
I enjoyed 16 but the more you play it the more tedious it becomes. DLC has great music and setting, kairos gate and ultima stuff is neat, and the rough story plot is interesting. However, the delivery of said plot is always lacklustre, plus the majority of the content here are more cookie cutter sidequests with the same uninspired dialogue as seen within the base game. The writing of FF games has fallen through the floor since X

But, genuinely, if you want a game with great character writing I would play the ff7 Re trilogy right now. The characters in there are superb, as for the story it's unique and definitely has meat to it but before the last part comes out it's difficult to tell whether the pay off will be worth it.

Can't you review people ever review anything without spoiling every single encounter location and plot point that happens throughout the game? Some of us don't need to know every detail before playing it ourselves. Come up with something else to talk about in the review for God's sake.

FF 16 was such a mediocre game, fantastic visuals and a great story but the gameplay was so bland, repetitive battles with no depth, almost zero exploration in pretty but dead world. I think I'll wait until FF17 and hope they return the greatness of the snes/ps1 era.
An invincibility mode where you have all powers and abilities would be wonderful. not dying all the time would be perfect for us older players who want to experience the story.

How? Unless you were playing on FF mode you can just boot the dlc on your OG save. Plus the timely accessories are literally there to prevent you dying. This combat system was literally designed for first time gamers in mind and thus is notoriously easy. Sure the DLC is harder than the base game, but it's not fromsoft hard.
I think Rebirth has the better exploration, but for boss fights FFXVI was more epic in my opinion and I love both games and both their OST were awesome!

The DLC sucks, just like the base game. Addressed absolutely none of the many flaws the base game had.
For me its a 9/10 DLC, it gave me everything I hoped for and the final surprise at the end after beating it was insane.
The witch was literally Jill's lookalike. I would have loved to see her backstory integrated more richly into The Rising Tide.

Does the level cap in the base game increase in the DLC?
Yes, 5 levels for each DLC so the new max is 110 from base game's 100.

Loved the DLC! Finished all the side quest and the fight with Leviathan was tough in FF mode but its what i wanted in a boss fight. Great game!

Here's a suggestion to fully enjoy this game: avoid doing multiple quests at the same time, as it may lead to missing important details.

Leviathan's 2nd AOE attack isnt a damage check, you have to jump in the air and dash out of it.

They do have the ring accessories once you put then on the chance of you dying is almost 0 since the game will doge by it self and do combos
