      It's a matter of whether if your tricep is stronger than your chest, as you progress with regular grip they'll invert.

      It's even worse for me. I tried a close grip one today and couldn't do 1. I did 120 on the wide grip. My elbows just don't go that way.

    As I write this, I’m currently in physical therapy for bicep tendonitis. At home I don’t have any materials to help me recover other than frozen food.     guys chill it works, i've done these before. if you honestly can't trust the push-ups here then do elevated feet push-ups, those do a lot for chest and shoulders.

Why his chest is more built than other can depend on like 1000000 of factors but the easiest for people to understand is, HE HAS TRAINED FOR YEARS, OR TAKEN GEAR. And the other thing you said is just nonsense. That people build mucle differently is like saying that people cook potato differently some in Water and some in Lava. Every humanbeing on earth build mucle the same way, because we are HUMANS and biologically our bodies build mucle through Hypertrophy. And last if you ”do what you want to build mucle” you might endup hurting yourself like if you do this exercise like this guy is showing you.

    Get pro level at close grip push ups first. This is a great chest building pushup(especially with push ups bars) exercise but build your triceps and shoulders up first by owning the close grip pushup. Be able to crank out 300-400 a week. Then after your weaknesses are fixed by owning the close grip pushup then you should move on to the wide grip. You dont want any shakiness when doing your pushups. If you are shaking on your first 3 wide grip pushups then you need to go back and get the regular pushup down first.

      Mansor Fransis Nope. Do 15. If you say "i cant" then be happy being skinny. When you get to your 2nd and 3rd set and you feel "you cant" do anymore, take a 5 second break then finish out the 15.

    I do wide push-ups now and I like how it works pecs but does it work my arms as much as normal push-ups? I don't want to lose my arms by switching.

      Whether wide or close grip, push ups will always work your chest, triceps, and some secondary muscles (e.g. shoulders, abs if you're keeping your body straight). With that said, wide grip = emphasis on chest and close grip = emphasis on triceps/arms.
      If you don't want to neglect your arms doing pushups, either do close/diamond grip, or normal grip (about shoulder width), which is a good balance between chest and triceps.

    He said 20 to 30 push ups 3 or 4sets : there are 4 possibilities :
    20x 3= 60
    20x 4= 80
    30x 3 = 90
    30x 4= 120
    It's up to you to choose which one of these is easier for you.

      5sets of 20reps works best for me.Great for chest and works latisimus dorsi too.Its actually great exercise and there is weary little tention on triceps hire.

      elbows should be pointed in to 45 degree to 90 degree.
      flaring out your elbows is the most biggest mistake done in pushup and could injure your elbows so try putting your hands at a shoulder width distance.

      Basically along your shoulder you have a tendon (supraspinatus) above that you have a sack of soft tissue called the bursa and above that you have the acromion,three parts here.When you do wide grip push ups or any other push up with over 70-75 percent abduction (abduction is when you raise your arm to the side) you are essentially pushing the bursa (Soft Tissue sack) to the side and,the tendon is now hitting the acromion. Throughout our day this may happen here in there which is perfectly normal,but when you intertwine the soft tendon and with acromion the hard bone, ON TOP of pressure it causes the bone to dig deep into the tendon which causes irreversible damage. How you ask? well when your body heals, it heals with scar tissue instead of muscle leading some to get chronic pain.Happy to help.

    what you are doing is teaching people to do push ups in a bad way (Bad push ups) its called, when your elbows point outward you have a big risk of getting impingement syndrome which can damage you shoulder real badly so badly in fact that you may have a real problem to do push ups ever again after because the little tissue that your shoulder bone are scratching against will not grow back fully it will just be replaced with scar tissue over and over. For a big chest do diamond push ups and close grip pushups, you can even try yourself to compare a wide push up with a close grip pushup and see that the close grip focuses even more on your chest than wide pushups.

      eliot mccool i was so with you until you mentioned close grip pushups for chest. Close grip focuses almost exclusively elbow extension which is a function of the triceps not the pectorals. Standard grip, shoulder width apart, is fine for the chest. I personally go about an inch or two wider while still avoiding internal rotation at the shoulder.
