These songs speak to my soul. Greatest generation of all time. Good times
I am a grown man and this song brings me to tears.....such a powerful, touching song that stirs my soul.....
I heard this first time back in 1992 wen I was released after a 6 yr sting as a juvenile offender… 19 yrs old and the world as my oyster… never served time again.. except for a 20 yr sting in the US Navy.. I’d like to give this jam some credit for letting me realize how this young man that was raised by an unforgiving mother named Texas was able to learn her lessons of violence and loneliness could find solace in song
Me too😪🥳

The four Tops were very good.
During this time. Love the music. "Still Waters" they deserve acclaimed award🎉
This cut reminds me of my dear lovely 6ft tall black Cherokee/Cree Native American Mother. Who I miss dearly. When she soared my world changed forever. This song takes me back to a sweeter time in my life. "Glo" always had good music goin on the box. Fun, cool and a wicked wit, generous and soulful , the most down to earth and realest sista never no BS. She would sing driving us around in her Pontiac LeMans, playing the 8 track rollin out, and we rolled with singing along. She'd say louuuuder.. and crack up. lol. She taught us how to play spades, I was 5. my sister was 4 my brother was 8. And we can play some damn spades. She could cook her r'azzz off, I mean burnnnn in the kitchen. Yes she taught me (thank God). Her sisters, brothers and cousins always hung out with her. A supreme Leoness she looked out and made sure everybody was good and belly's happy. In memory of my Mom🌷 who left here too damn young "Still waters run deep" y'all.❤️🦁🧡
Peace and Love one another.

God I miss the 60's and 70's. I miss my late wife, who would snuggle up to me listening to motown, what a gem 💎
Love this song. I remember where I was and who I was with and the joy I felt when I first listened to this melody and song
4:18
I was introduced to this sweetness at a very critical time in my life.
I allowed them in my sole. Everything became clear.... to this day I am grounded.
This song along with so many Motown classics were like the soundtrack for our lives growing up in the sixties and seventies so many memories.
Yes
My saving grace present day ..
Hell yeah
Absolutely! What a great way to explain life back then. It WAS a soundtrack to our lives from Linda Ronstandt to James Brown
Yes I agree im 70 miss those days sooo much. But this music takes us black there. Thank God we can have memories.
I listen to this periodically, I grew up in a chaotic house, but was lucky that my eldest bro, introduced me to soul music, always playing in his bedroom. Even as a little girl of 5 and upwards, I knew there was something special about these words and the sentiment behind them. Very grateful to have such beauty for the ears, mind and soul. ✌
YOU WILL NEVER EVER EVER BEAT THE FOUR TOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My ALL time favourite group ever EVER EVER EVER! Too RIGHT!!!!
💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Levi’ Stubbs was a BEAUTIFUL human being and wasn’t absent of faults like all of us but he was a Man of Honor , Respect , and Loyalty if you read about Levi specifically about his relationship with the band members you’ll be impressed and why LEVI STUBBS WAS HELD IN HIGH ESTEEM. GOD BLESS YOU LEVI🕊❤️🥂
Where would I find this.xx
Listening to this band brings back memories of when I saw them at The Streatham Odean in the 70's. Pure Class.
@@David-vm7omsaw them in Oxford England about 45 years ago fantastic
Oh my goodness, his voice is every thing!!! Rip Levi Stubbs
So many memories from this version of Still Waters. Four Tops did their thang with this one. 1970. 3 years old listening to this everyday around the house. Beautiful song.
I came of age in Detroit celebrating the Motown sound. For me, Levi Stubbs & the Four Tops were always the best of the best. Eternal soul....
they don't write songs like this anymore, sheer class and so soulful. 1class act...
Alfred Ornelas they don’t write songs anymore full stop thanks to rap and Simon cowell
How Could they. There is a lack of love in their Souls. And that is why Sometimes i Cry whenever i am @lone with this. Rest... To the Ones Loved & Missed...
There isnt a singer or group today fit to shine the shoes of Levi Stubbs and the 4 Tops. Period
Motown was such a bad hit machine. Jamerson's bass always makes a statement. Love it.
@@hasake89 Oh Yesssss, Jamerson's bass WHAT would Motown be without his sound.
This song never gets old.......brings me to tears.......I dont care what they say......this was the greatest generation......so lucky to have lived it.
Pam Kahn Yes 💟💟💟💟
Pam Kahn you know that's right, they don't make music like that anymore, the music today is generic, back then they played the music, I love it,
So true.
I thank God often this music was the background to my youth!!! played in my 66 GTO all the time!!
Yes Pam and I was born from the greatest generation
Thanks to my Dad. Worked for Chrysler 44 years; built us a swimming pool. Set in with the late Great Wes Montgomery on his sax.. Those were some great days!
At 76 so am I and I have seen them more times than I can count and Temps and Tops are the Best that ever was!
These masterpieces are appreciated even more today because of most of crap played on the airways today. Like many others commenting earlier, I am also 65 years young , and these are our story lines 🎶👍
one of the greatest bands ever, just listen to that beautiful music
Still listening in 2024 ! Love Momo
67 yrs old still LOVE this song 🎵 ❤️
These four guys brought so much joy to my life. Levi, the perfect gentleman, Obie always with a joke in his back pocket, Lawrence…my sweet Lawrence, with the smile that lit up the sky and Duke, the businessman who put everything in it’s proper perspective. My brothers will forever be with me. My Obie who constantly reminded me he was taking care of Levi. You have no idea the love, honor and respect they had for each other and the love the three had for Levi. I got a tearful hug from Duke a couple of months ago. Missing you guys today!🙏🏾💔❤️🥲🥲🥲
❤
We Need Motown Now!!!!
We might need Motown now, but unfortunately, Motown doesnt need us. Such a sad commentary!
tbplumbloc0 we need singers writers musicians sadly lacking today

54 years on & I still remember all the words.
