This coaster is EXACTLY what Universal Studios Hollywood needs. For the longest time this park desperately needs a standout coaster, and this ride might be the answer.
It will remain to be seen if this can equal or surpass the Velocicoaster (my person favorite Universal ride), but it’s so good to see Universal Hollywood finally get some A level thrill rides and not just the lame 3D screen dark rides they currently have. Now, if we could just get our own Hagrid’s…..
This is my dream 🥹🥹 I'm a HUGE INTAMANIAC (people on my channel may think I'm the bigfest fangirl out there) like 4 hours away form USH so I am ESTATIC RIGHT NOW!
I live about the same distance but from the Orlando park. I personally can't wait for the dualing coaster at Epic Universe because it looks sick so far.
I always thought that the reverse spike in the concept art was just a part of the theming for the rides entrance/station and not a part of the actual coaster itself. Kind of like how Hulk does with the coaster car out front at IOA.
It's gotta be Velocicoaster level good to be best in California. It is Universal though so I wouldn't be surprised! Stoked to continue watching construction on this, with Animal Actors demolished it already looks wildly different.
Universal is 5 minutes from my house. I worked on the backlot for years in production on Hercules and Xena. I forget this place exists. We go to Disneyland and Magic Mountain.
I remember when they opened Fast and Furious the ride back in 2013. I thought that it was going to be a roller coaster, but I was greatly disappointed. I thought that it was a horrible idea, but some people and that's ok. I think that the Fast and Furious roller coaster should have NOS Tank boost effect for the launch parts of the ride. I'm not sure if the Airtime Hill is necessary, the Corkscrew will defiantly a good element. It would be cool if the front part of the train featured a gas petal or a NOS Button Steering Wheel just to give the roller coaster more of a feel to it. Since the ride is still in the early stages of development. I think that the designers should add another layer of track and have them racing against each other side by side. That would take care of the two-hour lines that this roller coaster is probably going to get. I wonder what the color the trains are going to be, maybe Red, Green, Orange and Blue. I really hope that they're going to have some Street Racing theming in the station and feature a couple of soundtracks from the films. Looking forward to the grand opening of the Fast and Furious roller coaster.
So I just did a careful measurement of the Fast & Furious layout on Google satellite and we have a track length of just over 4,000 feet for the Hollywood coaster. Velocicoaster is 4,700 feet long or around 15% longer. If you want to know a steel coaster's track length just measure on Google and then add 7 to 8%. For a wood coaster add about 6%. So if you measure Velocicoaster on Google you will see the measurement is 4,400 feet and with another 300 feet you are at 4,700 feet.
Universal needs to seriously strengthen Universal Studios in Florida. It’s soooooooooooo lack lustre compared to IOA or EI. They need a 3 person park with equally great rides to tempt families into buying a ~Universal pass in 2025 in comparison to Disneys pass. The theme park wars are about to start on scale we haven’t seen since the 90’s!
I honestly think the spike is just a decoration piece above the station. I doubt they would have that concept rendered if it wasn't something they were planning to build.
I haven't rode the original ride at the parks that everyone thought was bad but I hope this is amazing as eventually it might replace the one in Orlando.
A race car themed intamin ?!? Hello successor to I305! Obviously it won’t be with the inversions and non giga but I305 is my fav coaster. I hope intamin brings some of those intense low turns and speed to this car themed coaster. Great stuff
I just posted my NoLimits 2 recreation of the coaster based on the blueprints! Feel free to use the POV in any future videos regarding this roller coaster! :D Great videos as always, Brandon! Keep it up!
Yes! The only concern I have is the Spinning Feature. We all saw Objectif Mars and how that went. No Lithium Batteries on this one lol! Anyways, no matter how they do it I know this will be my new favorite coaster. Long live my favorite manufacturer!
Im planning to go Universal Studios Hollywood with a bunch of friends in the summer of 2025 im hoping this coaster is open by then because i wanna ride it
The layout looks very good and I love the interaction with the terrain. If it still has the rumored drifting feature, then it could be even better than Time Traveller. Velocicoaster is my favorite coaster ever and this looks like it could overtake the #1 position. So excited that it’s coming to one of my home parks!!
WHY TF ARE THEY NOT MAKING A FAST & FURIOUS THEMED GO-KART COURSE???????!!!!!!!!!??!??!?!?!?! the idea itself is literally dripping money and a fan base of repeated customers. Universal could even create a Bumper Kart course and tailor that attraction toward the younger kids and teens who likely can't operate Go-Karts w/o a drivers license if they deem that necessary for the Go-Kart course....... tsk tsk tsk It's like the obvious cash grab isn't obvious enough
I also don't buy this layout. It's unlikely that this new coaster will have any inversions; it will probably be a compact layout because Universal Studios Hollywood doesn't have much room.
my bet is they removed the reverse spike because they want the coaster to keep running at a high capacity like Velocicoaster
That’s a good point!
I was about to comment this, making it a shuttle coaster or with shuttle elements, even with a switch track, would hurt capacity.
Family & Fun too!
It sounds awesome

Same tbh
i rly hope that part is just entirely removed from the concept since in hogsmeade pov it will look weird being a random coaster track in the air
From what I've heard, tops out at 73 mph!
Wow the speed is fast and the course is furious

That layout with the terrain reminds me a bit of helix at Liseberg. The views of this coaster from the escalators to the lower lot will be amazing

Me: EXCEPT that Scorpion tail element. Literally the only thing I wanted.
Yeah I was really wanting that. Cali doesn't have many shuttle elements:(
I have a feeling that the launch right after the mcbr could be a swing launch which would make the setup make way more sense imo

Knott's Berry Farm will NEVER get a giga coaster. GIVE IT THE HELL UP!
This!!! They have 0 room for it. They can't build any of it in the hotel parking lot because that's too close to the neighborhood.
