He’s basically insecure, feeling like a creep and a weirdo, like he’s not good enough for her. Wish people wouldn’t feel that way! 😩 His voice is amazing!
Way more than that, but i guess you basic people feel in love with the superficial and simple meaning of this song. When Thom turns it up one octave heading into the final chorus push it's epic. Being in love or infatuated with someone that you feel is too good for you definitely hurts & is self defeating. Thom had a huge crush on a girl in college that he actually used to follow around but never even tried to speak to because he felt he wasn't good enough. He actually saw her once when she showed up at a Radiohead gig as well. Thom wasn't very happy with the song though. He hated the lyrics he wrote. The guitar player added those hard banging sounds at first as a joke because he didn't like it either. The public loved it & obviously it became a huge hit. Creep is loved so much that it's all anyone ever wanted to hear. Radiohead actually dropped it from their set to try & make way for new music. That song is impossible to break free from though because "Creep" will always be relatable to so many. Liking that seemingly unattainable person & wishing you were more. MANY have covered this song & argue that this person or that person does a great cover. In my opinion, Thom Yorke's voice on this track IS "Creep".

The early 90s were filled with songs about being a loser, and dark introspective music. It turned into the Seattle sound or grunge rock for a few years. Auto tune and the boy bands/brittany killed the true spirit of rock and roll. Thanks a lot Cher.
This song is on my list of all time top ten songs & has never left it for over 20 years. Not only is the music beautiful, but those lyrics, combined with Thom Yorke's voice - *MASTERPIECE!* Hence the reason it gets covered so much, but no-one can achieve the perfection of Radiohead's original - Thom wrote it & you can FEEL his raw emotion! *PLEASE PLEASE* react to Street Spirit (fade away): - it is so memorising a haunting song - dark but captivating💗 'Karma Police', 'Paranoid Android',(Live for both!), 'Fake Plastic Trees', 'Iron Lung' - Radiohead are up there with the greats. Their music is eclectic, experimental, almost a genre of their own - each band member is a master of their craft. 👏
Wow. As a young man, you are young, inexperienced at life. A young woman just knocks you out, as she is so, so everything you think is beautiful. You daren't approach her, fearing rejection. She is on one level higher. Best stay in the background, near the edge of things. Until maybe, just maybe the opportunity comes to speak at length with her. But you never forget her. A crush, infatuation, such wonderful emotions that you wish she could feel as well. All the beautiful scenarios in your mind, never realized. Those intense emotions carry you through it all. In time, you come away with having learned about life and unrequited love. Every heartbroken teen should listen to this song. Ya' know, we never really know how others think and feel. I mean REALLY.

Radiohead began in the early 90's in the UK as Britain's answer to Nirvana's brand of grunge rock w/ vocalist/guitarist Thom Yorke... This was their first hit single in 1993. The first album 'Pablo honey' also had 2 more singles - 'Stop whispering' ... 'Anyone can play guitar'. But Radiohead's 2nd album 'The Bends' in 1995 was not a big hit despite the singles 'High and dry'... 'Fake plastic trees'. The band made a radical departure out of 90's rock, and brought in electronic sounds & samples on 3rd album 'OK Computer' in 1997... it became a slow seller and gave Radiohead a major hit record... 'Karma police'... 'Paranoid android' ... 'No surprises' ... were the singles. 4th album 'Kid A' in 2000 went to #1 on the US charts, w/ Radiohead going into ambient, Pink Floyd-style sounds... more electronic sounds on 5th album 'Amnesiac' in 2001... 6th album 'Hail to the thief' brought back some rock sound... 'There there' was a single from it in 2003. Subsequent records 'In rainbows' (2007), The king of limbs (2011), and 'A moon-shaped pool' (2016) all made the top 5 charts in the USA.
He wrote this at college , when he saw a beautiful girl that he felt was out of his league. I think many teens have insecurities about themselves. Many have fallen for that popular guy/girl at school that has everybody chasing them. And you know you've got no chance , this song is how many feel about themselves
This song is about a girl at university who Thom liked but she never noticed him. Apparently years later she turned up to a Radiohead concert, Thom heard she was there and was so nervous bye the this the first time they played it Radiohead - Creep (Reading 1994 is the best video
More good Radiohead songs: (My favorites) My Iron Lung (It is about the song "Creep") Street Spirit No Surprises How to Disappear Completely Paranoid Android (Jools Holland 1997) Life In a Glasshouse (Live on Jools - 2001) A Wolf At the Door (Lyrics) Videotape (from the basement) Nude (from the basement) They have changed sound so much over the years so almost no album sounds like the other!
Awesome Song and I liked the grins on your faces when those Cranking Chords Came In With Volume On 10. I Couldn't wait for it, knew it would get ya. This Song is Covered by so many in American Idol and the Voice. 😁❤🤘
Peak Grunge, the sound of the 1990's..this kind of song was the whole grunge vibe. Feeling like an outsider, a loser, not getting life, not wanting to be part of the crowd, etc..
Listen to Kodaline - All I Want Kodaline - High Hopes Kodaline - Everything Works Out in the End Kodaline - Love Like This Kodaline - Love Will Set You Free Kodaline - One Day
I believe this song was inspired by a real life person. This is a great version but I really like acoustic version by The Pretenders - Creep (Live At London's Jakob Street Studios 1995) I have both versions in my library.
Probably their biggest radio hit, but not really representative of most of their music. The lead singer Thom Yorke actually hated this song for a while, and they stopped playing it at their concerts. They've got a long and varied discography, but are generally known for their experimental and melancholy sound. If you're in that sort of mood there's not much better. If you're curious I'd definitely recommend their live sessions "From the Basement".
Love Radiohead listen to there music everyday, they make great music, you should listen to Steet Spirit, True loves Wait, Rekoner fake platic trees, so many to love
I think this song is pretty straight forward " I want you to notice when I'm not around"......"But I'm a creep" " I'm a weirdo". He is in love with someone and he doesn't even feel worthy enough to let her know"
You pretty much got it … is basically about being in love with someone, but you don’t feel you’re good enough for them, fairly universal feeling for everyone at one time or another.
To me, this song was always about people who were angry with their lot in life, and they were going to let life, God, the rest of us, know their frustrations and righteous indignation, whether we wanted to hear them or not.
It’s based on Tom’s personal experience. The line “run...run...run” near the end refers to the crushing moment when he finally built up the courage to approach the girl and she shouted to her friends to run. Bet she feels a bit dumb now.
My favorite part is 6:09 when the guitar starts playing that high note right before he starts yelling. To me, it gives the impression of a crying baby.
He’s basically insecure, feeling like a creep and a weirdo, like he’s not good enough for her. Wish people wouldn’t feel that way! 😩 His voice is amazing!
Yep, that's basically it. Tom Yorke describes the feeling as, "There's the beautiful people and then there's the rest of us."
I think most of us have felt like that at some time. With maybe the exception of "the beautiful people".
That's what makes it so poignant.
Unfortunately, I've related and felt that way about myself for years. I've gotten better as I got older.

Many have fallen for that popular guy/girl at school that has everybody chasing them. And you know you've got no chance , this song is how many feel about themselves
you know that boy kicked ass singing lead. Damn! One of the best vocals ever! HHell yes
This song is about a girl at university who Thom liked but she never noticed him. Apparently years later she turned up to a Radiohead concert, Thom heard she was there and was so nervous bye the this the first time they played it Radiohead - Creep (Reading 1994 is the best video
Such an angsty song, it was perfect for me as an angsty teen
More good Radiohead songs: (My favorites)
My Iron Lung (It is about the song "Creep")
Street Spirit
No Surprises
How to Disappear Completely
Paranoid Android (Jools Holland 1997)
Life In a Glasshouse (Live on Jools - 2001)
A Wolf At the Door (Lyrics)

They have changed sound so much over the years so almost no album sounds like the other!
Very thoughtful comments around 5 minute mark. 🙏
love it when he rips the guitar👍😁
You guys need to react to the cranberries, zombie and linger, amazing Irish band and the lead has an incredible tone
Radiohead were a great British Band !!!!!!!

Awesome Song and I liked the grins on your faces when those Cranking Chords Came In With Volume On 10. I Couldn't wait for it, knew it would get ya. This Song is Covered by so many in American Idol and the Voice. 😁❤🤘
I know he was feeling it cuz if I was feeling that he had me feeling it cuz he was doing it and I'm glad this is just about somebody singing a song
Hello to all my fellow creeps & weirdo's out there, we make the world the world a much more interesting place to be 🥰
Peak Grunge, the sound of the 1990's..this kind of song was the whole grunge vibe. Feeling like an outsider, a loser, not getting life, not wanting to be part of the crowd, etc..
Listen to
Kodaline - All I Want
Kodaline - High Hopes
Kodaline - Everything Works Out in the End
Kodaline - Love Like This
Kodaline - Love Will Set You Free
Kodaline - One Day
I believe this song was inspired by a real life person.
Try “Fake Plastic Trees”. Also their version of “Street Spirit” live from Japan
This song is in my top 5 best songs ever made!!! Fucking love it!!!
Ok now you HAVE TO check out Post Modern Jukebox"s cover of Creep. HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO!!!
You nailed it! YOUR EXPLANATION.
I never really got into them back then. But now exploring their album of that year I knida missed out on a lot of good songs.
🤣 she ain't gotta talk if she doesn't want to!!! Love the reactions!! ❤
You're a wise man, brother.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
must listen to "Paranoid Android" and/or "Street Spirit/(Fade Out)" And/or "There There".
This really takes me on a roller coaster of emotion.
I strongly recommend the "Best performance" live version
Love Radiohead listen to there music everyday, they make great music, you should listen to Steet Spirit, True loves Wait, Rekoner fake platic trees, so many to love
Thanks for the reaction. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all. Much Love from New Zealand 💕💕
I think this song is pretty straight forward " I want you to notice when I'm not around"......"But I'm a creep" " I'm a weirdo". He is in love with someone and he doesn't even feel worthy enough to let her know"
Wish there was more with this intelligent kind of reviews.
You pretty much got it … is basically about being in love with someone, but you don’t feel you’re good enough for them, fairly universal feeling for everyone at one time or another.
BIG CLASSIC / LEGENDARY GROUP / LEGENDARY SINGER / INCREDIBLE VOICE / BIG RESPECT
To me, this song was always about people who were angry with their lot in life, and they were going to let life, God, the rest of us, know their frustrations and righteous indignation, whether we wanted to hear them or not.
It's mentioned here already, but Check out Haley Reinhart covering this with Post Modern Jukebox 🔥 🔥 🔥
Man I'm loving that Prince album in the background. Great song by Radiohead, very cool channel, new sub
Iconic song from iconic band 🤘🏾 what a fucking nostalgic
Subterranean Homesick Alien is probably the most underrated Radiohead song there is. Spin it.
React nirvana - where did you sleep last night
Some other songs from them you should listen to:
Paranoid Android
Karma Police
Fake Plastic Trees
Exit Music (for a film)
It’s based on Tom’s personal experience. The line “run...run...run” near the end refers to the crushing moment when he finally built up the courage to approach the girl and she shouted to her friends to run. Bet she feels a bit dumb now.
It’s about a girl who he was enthralled with. He was to insecure to approach her. This is the song that resulted.
If you want to go down the Radiohead rabbit hole...pack a few meals. You might never come back!
My favorite part is 6:09 when the guitar starts playing that high note right before he starts yelling. To me, it gives the impression of a crying baby.
