Thank you so much for such a detailed video-I learned a lot from it. I found your video “easy to see”! I really appreciate your comments especially when you said, “I could have stopped there” because it’s such an honest learning moment for the viewer! I just subscribed and I’m looking forward to learning more from you! From Dee Dee in Canada 🍁
Hi Dee Dee! Great to hear from a fellow Canadian ☺️ Thank you for your comment, and for subscribing - very much appreciated! There will be more videos coming soon. Please stay tuned.

Beautiful
Sondra Casser thank you so much 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this. You have created a beautiful piece of art, really looking forward to new work that you post. Best wishes xx
I truly appreciate that. Thank you so much Kay ☺️
It is so hard to know when to stop with the inks isnt it? When you have all that ink and alcohol on the paper, you feel like carrying on to minimise waste, yet I agree with you that perhaps had you stopped that little bit earlier you might have really nailed it. The outcome was still pretty but I feel that the best moment was lost somewhere in the middle of the video.
lol, it definitely is hard to know when to stop. I think I was loving the colour flow quite a bit during this one ;)
you did an amazing job - it's really is fantastic.
I appreciate it - thank you so much! :)
Once I tilt my Yupo, all I end up with is Mud....mud and gold...but mud...are my colors too dark for this type of galaxy painting? Thank you
Hmm... what colours and brand are you using?
Thank you for sharing 💜
You're very welcome. Thank you so much for watching ☺️
I'm very new to alcohol inks and was wondering if you had decided to stop at the teal colour and the gold, how long would it have taken to dry naturally as I see a lot of people using hair dryers but on some I wouldn't want to move it all around too much? Beautiful tutorial also, and I definitely loved the teal and gold first part ♥️
Hi! Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your question and comment! :) The alcohol ink settles quite quickly. After a matter of seconds to under a minute, it should be done moving/spreading. It depends on how much ink/isopropyl alcohol is used as well.
@@TinaIrvine thank you so much for replying. I got my Yupo paper today and gold and teal inks, am eager to start one tomorrow 🙏I may leave to dry naturally if I get a similar ocean effect ♥️
@@neardeathexperience1111 Awesome! How'd it go?!
@@TinaIrvine having a go today 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Paylaşımınız çok değerli..Çok teşekkür ederim..Keşke turkce altyazi seçeneğiniz de olsa😔
Aw thank you so much 💕I appreciate you watching. I wish I could add subtitles in Turkish and all languages. So sorry :(
So fabulous. Please list your colors. Thank you.
Hi Rosemarie! Thank you :) Sorry about that! I've just listed the colours in order (in my description). Hope that helps :)
Do you frame with the glass ?
Hi Jaque! Sometimes I frame my pieces, and sometimes I'll adhere pieces to wooden panels. No matter what, I always seal my pieces first with varnish, and a UV-resistant spray. Thank you for watching!
This is beautifulllll!
Thank you so much ☺️
It's pretty. What are you going to do with this background?
Thank you so much Renee! ☺️ I'm undecided as of yet... I'll try to post a video when I'm able to get back to it though ;)
Absolutely beautiful . I subscribed in the hopes of many more from you. Great talent. Ty
Thank you Gillian, I appreciate it! I'm working on a better video setup, but more videos definitely coming very soon! Thanks again!
Gillian Liackman what varnish for alcochol ink
Hi Joy! Personally, I use Kamar Varnish after the painting is fully dry.
If I used a canvas do you know if the galaxy effect would still work?
Hi Hannah! I've been meaning to try alcohol ink with canvas but I haven't just yet :( I would think that as long as you can move the alcohol around without any of it soaking in, it should work. You wouldn't be able to bend the canvas, but you could certainly tilt it to blend. If you prep the canvas with paint first, that might help...? Please let me know how it goes!
I know this was forever ago, but from all that I’ve personally learned over the last 6 months of trial and error(mostly errors;)....alcohol ink can’t be used as it’s intended on any kind of porous substrate; and canvas is porous. You could do a resin flood coat on your canvas(or anything porous)and follow it up with alcohol inks once it’s fully cured/dried🤷🏼♀️
Bri Shae Designs hmmmm......I've never thought of a flood coat first on canvas then alcohol inks! Have you tried this technique yet?? I'm wondering it this could work!! Thanks for that idea!!
Hi! I thought I'd come back to this in case anyone is wondering. If the canvas isn't stretched onto bars yet, and you coat it with Killz2 or Zinsser BIN (or similar), it will allow the inks to flow AND you can pick up the canvas sides to bend/tilt it.
"WOW"
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you ❤️
Love this! One question though, I thought it was recommended for safety not to spray inks?
Hi Mimi! You're likely right, and to be honest, it's very rare that'll use a spray bottle with ISA. I'm always very cautious though, so if I'm working inside, I always have a respirator on, as well as a fan running, and the window open ;) Better to be safe. Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
@@TinaIrvine the alcohol inks are non toxic arent they? Its the alcohol that is the problem
Hi Kayla! Thank you for your question ☺️ I wish they weren't, but unfortunately, alcohol inks are generally harmful to inhale. Each brand may differ, so please do take precautions as recommended on the SDS (safety data sheets) provided by the company.
Where did you find the large sheets of Yupo paper.
I buy my yupo at Curry's Art Supplies (www.currys.com). Thank you for watching ☺️
Really nice from what i could see over your shoulder... or under your arm pit.
Did you use yupo?
Hi @mariaflies! I'm very limited for working space. I know it's not ideal, but it's the best I can do. So sorry. I do appreciate your comment though - thank you :) Yes, in this video, I've used Yupo. Thank you for watching.
you are very smart
Thank you ;)
You have a tone of alcohol and ink on that paper it has nowhere to go
Which made it super fun to work with 😁😉
@@TinaIrvine It does doesn't mean it's good, with AI sometimes less is more, it's not me who said that
It's just one way of doing things. It's not wrong. The video shows what happens when you play with this method. If you check out my instagram, I have many pieces where I use much less ink / alcohol :)
Tina Irvine Tina! You replied with grace and kindness! Personally I love what you achieved and I hope this person’s opinion didn’t upset you!
fionna wheatley “this person” is me,and I left a constructive criticism, because I have experience with alcohol ink, and if you put too much ink or alcohol on the substrate,it will make a mess. That’s all, nothing personal!
What did you drop into the paints? Alchohol?
Hi! Yes, I used an eyedropper to drop the isopropyl alcohol onto the ink. Thank you so much for watching and commenting :)
Hi beautiful
I appreciate it! Thank you :)
