Sehr schön.
Thank you so much ☺
Have you tried a can of air to move the ink around?
I have :) Personally, it's not my first choice of air pushing tool, but others prefer it. Just a matter of preference and what works best for people.
That is STUNNING!
Thank you so much ☺
Very pretty!
A beautiful painting, I think speed it up but still show the whole process,
You make it look so easy but it's not ! This piece is so beautiful, thank you
Thank you so much ☺
Really to hire the alcohol content the better it is? Where everclear is alcohol and it's $190 proof. I would like to know why y'all don't just put a hose on a straw or a big pain or something like that and blow it
I’m here 😁😁
Thank you so much for watching!! ☺
What kind of paper handles all that alcohol without breaking ??
I usually use Yupo but there are many other synthetic papers available. You can use alcohol ink on other non-porous materials too - ceramic tile, glass, etc. Thank you so much for watching! ☺
What type of hair dryer do you use…. I saw your link to that shop in an earlier answer but I can’t open it
@@charlotteevers4402 The hair dryer I use is by Quo Beauty (Shoppers Drug Mart brand). It's in the link in my description above.
Does the colour fade over time?
It can. It's best to protect afterwards with varnish and then with a UV-resistant product.

What paints are you using?
Hi! These are alcohol inks. Please check out the video description for a list of the ink colours / brands that I used in this piece. Thank you so much for watching ☺
Do you know if the Quo dryer can be shipped to the US from Canada?
Hi @jackieaikin3394, thank you for watching! I'm not sure. There's a link to the item on my supplies page if you want to try: tinairvine.com/supplies If it works to ship to the US, please let me know so I can pass this info on to anyone else who inquires. Thank you ☺
@@TinaIrvine Will do! Thank you!
OMG, wth, Tina? Glad I found you. New to it all and wanna try it. I don't understand the blow dryer. Do you always use it on hot? Will any hair dryer work? Do you use or need an airbrush? Awesome! Thanks:)
Hi! Thank you so much for dropping by ☺ I normally use the hot air brush on cool. I haven't tried other hair dryers, but as long as it has a narrower tip, and a similar amount of air pressure, you'll have more control. I even use my heat gun but on the "cool down" setting. Some people love air brushes. I haven't used one in a while as I prefer the other tools. My favourite tools are listed here: tinairvine.com/supplies If you ever use anything with warmer temperatures, it will warp (or burn) papers. If you want to use a tiny bit of heat, test on a ceramic or other material that can withstand warmer temperatures. It will dry your ink faster though, so you'd have less work time. Alcohol + heat are not a great mix anyway.
💕, art. Glad to see your process is not unlike my own!😁

I'm so glad to hear this (and the secret word! Yay! Thank you ☺). Thank you for watching!

This is beautiful! The inks really do have a mind of their own, sometimes they’re just going to do what they want despite you trying to coax them into doing what you’d had in mind. Most of the time if you stick with it, it turns out they had the right idea all along and you were the jerk fighting it.. well me, anyway 😅 You make beautiful art, thanks for sharing it with us!
LOL I agree with you 100%! Sometimes (well, most of the time), you just have to go with the flow. Thank you so much for your kind words, and for watching ☺

Lovely painting. Has an ethereal feel. I enjoy watching the whole process - speeded up if it a long video. Thank you.
Thank you so much ☺
Absolutely beautiful! I'm inspired to try this and I'm impressed by the liberal use of alcohol to fade out. Haven't tried adding the metallic with the ink, another first. Thank you.
Yes, I tend to go through a lot of ISO ;) I'm so glad you liked the video! Thank you for watching ☺
This is underrated!
I appreciate it. Thank you for watching ☺
I love how these turned out. The blue looks gear against the black.
Thank you so much! ☺
Absolutely gorgeous 😍💕
Thank you so much ☺
I put my alcohol ink inside the ornament and allow to dry fully then coat with white or metallic paint and the colors are so vibrant!
I’ve seen that done before too! Seems really fun!! Hope to try that technique someday! My only concern is if the glass isn’t UV protected in any way, the ink colours may fade/change over time..? 🤔
@@TinaIrvine anything could happen I suppose, but I have yet to have mine fade. The acrylic paint acts as a sealant in a way.
@@TinaIrvineKamar spray helps alcohol inks not fade.
@@jenniferfarrar3542 that's great to know! Thank you ☺
@@littlemisssunshine5628 Kamar might help a bit..?...but it isn't labelled as UV-resistant. I love using Kamar for sealing, before adding a UV-resistant spray 😊

Love seeing the whole process. This is a lovely painting 👏. I love watching other artist techniques and to see that it is human to struggle with a composition ☺️.
Your comment is so much appreciated, Shirley. Thank you for watching 🫶🏼 I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Your work is absolutely stunning. I recently started experimenting with alcohol inks. I love the attitude of the inks. They certainly seem to have a mind of their own. I see you are using a hair dryer to push the inks. Can you tell me what brand you use? I looked at the info you posted and in the comments before I asked in case it had been answered.
Thank you so much for your kind words! 💕 I'm so glad you're enjoying alcohol inks too! ☺ The hair dryer / hot air brush is Quo brand. I've just added a link in the description for my web page - it has all my fave alcohol ink essentials, including the hot air brush. Here it is as well: tinairvine.com/supplies
Were they originally clear?
Hi @terragallo7110, Thank you for watching. Yes, the ornaments were initially clear. I used acrylic ink on the inside to coat them, and let them dry overnight.

Aw thank you so much Jane! I appreciate it! 💕
Please let me know the brand of this blow dryer! Thank you!!
Hi Cynthia! The brand is Wagner. It's a heat gun with a cool-down setting. Thank you so much for watching :)
Thank you so much Tina!
This is really lovely iv just started with inks I would love to be able to do like you I will have to practice more thank you
Hi Anne! I hope you're enjoying the inks! Thank you so much for watching ☺️
Loved the colours❤
Thank you ☺️ And thank you so much for watching!
Hi Tina. You're the first person I've seen using a Wagner heat gun on your alcohol ink projects. Are you still using it or have you changed to something else? I'm currently using a Revlon curler dryer which is quite popular, but I'm wondering since the Wagner has a smaller diameter tip that it may be better for detailed work?
The main downfall I find with my heat gun is that it shuts off periodically (since it's the cool-down setting that I use). I'm used to it, so it's not a big deal, but I also use a Quo brand hair dryer in a lot of my newer pieces - which is also easier to handle. I don't find it too different as far as more or less details. The heat gun comes with alternative attachments. I haven't wanted to try them though, as I'm happy with it as is. Hope that helps...? Thank you so much for watching, and I appreciate your question. I hope my response helps ☺
@@TinaIrvine Great! Thank you much for the reply. I watched a video on the Wagner and it appears that the cool setting is for cooling the dryer after it has been used in the higher heat settings. The cool setting has an auto shutoff feature that turns off after the temperature drops and the gun has cooled. Pls make more videos of your alcohol ink art pieces. Thanks. :)
@@silvermyth2119 Yes, that's absolutely correct about the heat gun ☺I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos! I have more on the way! 🥰
Where do you get 99% ISO?
Please check with your local pharmacy/drug store. Costco, Walmart and Amazon are a few other places to check. Thank you so much for watching 😊

Lo siento mucho :( No tengo a nadie que proporcione traducciones de voz en este momento. Este video no tiene audio. Gracias por ver 🙏🏼
It seems like my gold just sits there, too heavy to move like ink,,, What might I be doing wrong? Your art is gorgeous by the way!! I have NO idea how you use a heat gun! I tried and boiled the ink to death!
Thank you so much ☺ A few ways that work for moving metallics are dropping isopropyl alcohol down first or immediately after you drop your gold, or adding your gold into another freshly dropped ink and then add ISO (or a blending solution). I work with a heat gun on the cool down setting (it automatically shuts off, so I get used to turning it back on each time)... the other tool that is somewhat similar is a hair dryer, like I used in this video: ua-cam.com/video/33Ulne4xcnM/v-deo.html .... Thank you for watching :)
@@TinaIrvine Thanks for all your help and great tips. I figured out a lot of the issue, I moved and all my inks and metallics have been sitting in my boxes but in a very hot and humid environ (Georgia) in my garage I know it affected at least my metallics because I used a brand new one that came in the mail and it did move around a LOT better...plus I applied your tips.
@@zzzz3190 Ahhh, I'm so glad you have it figured out! I'm also glad to hear the tips may have helped 😅 Enjoy your new ink! ☺
